Progressive Waste Solutions – North Austin Division

Why would i care enough to rate a garbage collection company? It’s all about expectations. The guys who pick up the trash are basically invisible to most people, right? As long as the trash disappears on it’s designated day, it’s all good.
But when that goes ‘south’, the heroes are separated from the goats.
There are 2 trash pick up companies in my neighborhood; I’ve had the … privilege… honor… curse… of having used both in the time I’ve lived here, so I have some basis of comparison. Both companies pick up trash (duh) and both companies don’t waste too much money on customer communications, if you know what I mean.
In particular, both companies have changed that magic date when the trash disappears without informing folks — or at least i missed the memo every time that has happened.
What i like about Progressive though is — when I called to find out why my trash can is still the center of a cloud of apocalyptic flies at the curb, 2 days after magic day, the folks at Progressive:
a. answered the phone quickly
b. determined that I wasn’t one of the informed
c. (this is the whole reason for the review…) — sent out a crew to pick up the trash!
It’s the little things that we have to be thankful for, folks!
