I recently called Wedge for a quote on a roof replacement for my home in Novato. They were quick to respond and to come out to my home and provide a quote. The quote ended up being about $ 3K more than a quote for essentially the same roof from American Foam Experts (AFE), so I selected AFE for the work instead. It hasn’t been installed yet and won’t be for another month, so I can’t comment on the wisdom of my choice.

Tarry Winfrey did an outstanding job with customer service. Starting with helping me with picking the roof material that would work for our house. His follow up was exceptional he made sure we were on schedule during a very critical time with EL Nino upon us. He was diligent with checking in each day during the installation ensuring all was going well. The crew was excellent! They were there every day on time, picked up at the end of the day and finished the project on time. Our roof was not the norm it took 10 days to install. Being a government contractor I know when I see a good company, I highly recommend Wedge Roofing!

We moved into a new house in Santa Rosa in June. We new we needed to address the roof before the El Nino winter. We got the run around from the roofer who did our inspection before moving in. They would never follow up. After talking with many roofers we settled on Wedge to do some minor repairs and maintenance. And they also coordinated with SolarCraft who installed a new solar pool hearing systems.
5 months later we came home to water dripping in two areas of the entry. And a major storm was predicted in 24 hours. Called and sent an email to Wedge and that night they called me and scheduled someone to come out the next day (Saturday).
After working on the roof for an hour Wedge repaired a broken gutter. And since then no leaks with heavy rain for two days.

Had Wedge out put a new spray foam roof on our flat roof. Received proposals from 4 companies including Armstrong. Terry from wedge gave me the most confidence. Their bid was also very competitive. It was a complicated job as some resloping and working around ducts and skylights was needed. Took longer then anticipated but they got it done right and problems were discussed and resolved satisfactorily along the way. The roof looks amazing. Very responsive group. Crews were courteous and clean. Highly recommended Wedge.

Wedge Roofing repaired and spray foamed our roof last year, and this year, spray foamed under our basement floor. The team was prompt and very professional. I was upstairs working the whole time, but I hardly knew they were here. At the end of the project they put all the furniture back and vacuumed the whole downstairs. Highly recommended!

Very pleased with my new cedar shingle roof by Wedge. Tarry, my salesman, made several trips to my house with samples as we went through the options. The roofers arrived when scheduled, kept the jobsite clean, and did an outstanding job. Also, they were gentlemen.
The price seemed fair. I did not get other bids. I’ve learned by painful experience that it isn’t always wise to take the lowest bid. I wanted a quality job and that is just what I got.

I recently had Wedge install a new foam roof, and I could not be happier. The whole process from the initial visit by Terry to get an estimate to the installation and clean up went without any problems. The crew who installed the roof were happy to explain what they were doing during the process and worked great together. They were very careful to protect decks, plants, etc while they prepared the roof and moved equipment up and down. When they were done everything was put back in its place and cleaned up better than at the start. I would highly recommend Wedge Roofing.

We have a flat roof, we wanted to roof that would last a long long time, and foam seemed like the obvious choice. We spent a long time researching, talking with various roofing companies, and asking countless questions before picking Wedge roofing.
All the companies were friendly and professional. Durafoam would’ve been our second choice. Great guys, but the numbers were a bit high compared to Wedge. Armstrong is the big gorilla of foam roofing. For our roof, their price was also high compared to Wedge, and despite the salesperson being nice, there was a large corporation feel to them, which for me was a minus. We also chatted with Absolute Urethane, an all but unknown company, and they gave a very low quote. But in the end we wanted a more established roofing company. Wedge, Durafoam, and Armstrong have all been around for many decades and will likely still be there if your roof has a problem in 30 years.
A foam roof is a layer of foam. Then a layer on top of the foam to protect it from the sun. Most companies (Durafoam and Armstrong included) use of acrylic/​elastomeric for this protective coat. But that’s a water-​based substance, so standing water can void the warranty. Wedge specifically uses Silicone to protect the foam underneath. For us, longevity of the roof is the goal and thus Silicone is the better bet.
When it rained, just after the roof was put on, I photographed three puddles which I sent to Wedge. They called them «bird baths» and said that there was no reason to worry for puddles of that smallish size.
Terry from Wedge roofing was very responsive and answered my many, often challenging questions. The roofers were fast, skilled, and friendly. They covered all the neighbors cars to protect them. The workmanship was top-​notch. The new roof looks fantastic and so far I’m thrilled that we chose Wedge. The roof has not yet seen any heavy rains, so I will update this review after the storms hit. But I’m optimistic. :-)

Wedge Roofing is one of the best! I had some interactions with other roofers during the HUGE storms that just hit over the winter months last year (2014). It was so unpleasant to work with these other roofers I was quite the roofer skeptic.
I took a neighbor referral who has a great looking roof and who said wonderful things about Wedge. I called Wedge and was able to easily set up a time for one of their folks to come and assess what needed to happen to fix my roof. I will still a skeptic until Jose Escalante appeared right on time with note pad in hand and the biggest smile ever. Jose immediately won me over with his smile and charm but also his knowledge of roofing and ability to offer multiple suggestions on how to go about handling my roof issues. Jose sent me 3 different options to fix or replace my roof over the next 48 hours. That was a great start! He followed up every few days to answer questions and stay on top of my needs. He visited the property at least 3 times to make sure I understood what he was offering to do. I felt confident I was making the right choice once I signed my contract. Jose was extremely patient and kind through out all interactions with me as I am very demanding & particular. My project was a big and complicated one and the Wedge team was always professional and respectful while on my property and on my roof. The project took a while and there are still a few things on their punch list to rectify but I am confident that with a bit more follow up they will complete the last little details that were promised.
A few things to note are as follows and the reason the 3 stars instead of five:
After signing my contract and roofers all showed up and had already started to take off the cement tiles, Jose showed up to tell me they could NOT find a good match for damaged tile replacement that was in my contract. This was of course a big problem that could have voided the entire project. I decided to help them by allowing them to pull tiles from under my solar. Off color tiles could be used under the solar and matching tiles could be out where people can see them. This allowed the project to continue. I feel strongly that it would be prudent for Wedge to make sure that they can actually get all materials for any job they are bidding before contracts are promised and executed.
Another issue that arose was the scheduling of work to be done between the Solar Company & Wedge which went a bit haywire on the first several days. I was exposed to it and it was not pretty. It was quite stressful and due to how large scale my project was I felt strongly that a pre –site meeting to review the project from both teams would have prevented the initial issues I witnessed. After a few days of back and forth and changing of plans a few times everything went well. Just advise to meet prior to the project with all subs and leads so everyone is on the same page prior to terrorizing the client.
Over all Wedge does great work and I would recommend them for your projects every time.

I have recommended Wedge Roofing to my clients for their tile roof repairs on many occasions. They have always been happy. Recently, Jose Escalante came out to give my client and me a bid for roof repairs. He was so professional and patient. We asked if we could have the bid by close of business on that same day which was a lot to ask but Jose was nice enough to agree to do this. At 4pm I still didn’t have the bid so I called Jose. He told me he had done his part but his office had to send it out and he would make sure this happened. When at 9:30pm I still didn’t have the bid I sent Jose a text. Jose forwarded the emailed bid from his office using his phone and then texted me to make sure I received it. Apparently his office had sent out the bid but for whatever reason I did not receive it. Very happy with Wedge Roofing and Jose Escalante who clearly goes the extra mile regardless of what time it is!

During the last rainstorms I noticed two potential huge leaks in my newer roof, never something a homeowner wants to have to deal with. When I called Gary Harvey at Wedge Roofing he was able to see me within 24 hours! We booked our appointment and Gary was on time and incredibly courteous. Upon inspection of my roof Gary went above and beyond providing me not only with pictures of the affected areas, but areas of concern going forward. Thanks to Gary and Wedge Roofing, my roof repairs were quick and effective and the damage inside required nothing more than a little touch up paint. I would recommend Wedge to any homeowner looking for a reliable, professional roofer.

Post-​storm update: 12/​16/​2014.
Wedge Roofing installed an SPF roof for me back in 2011. This insulation noticeably changed the temperature in my home for the better. My children’s rooms especially used to get damp and cold for many months of the year, immediately after the SPF roof was installed, this simply stopped happening. Amazing.
On top of this, my home used to make noises and creaking prior to this roof and SPF insulation being applied. Now it is quiet as a church. To top all of this off, I had ZERO leaks throughout the entire storm event of the last two weeks. My roof used to leak often, despite patch jobs from lesser contractors. I finally got fed up of having to repair my roof every winter and went to Wedge Roofing to get a quality, life-​long job done on my home.
Thank you Wedge Roofing, your work has protected my family and made positive changes to my residence I didn’t even know were possible. This is a good, family-​owned American company that consistently provides high-​quality and safe work.

I had Wedge Roofing reroof my house in Marin a few years ago. The house had the original roof on it which was going on 25 years with 15 year composite shingles, even thought it had never leaked in 25 years I thought I would be proactive and get it done before I got a leak, that was a mistake.
The first rain we got there was terrible leaking that ran down into the first floor, they came out and said that the problem was in the vent box on the roof and that wasn’t part of the roof job, I explained that in 25 years we never had a leak and after they did the work we had terrible leaks. They said that they would have to redo the vent box and then gave me an estimate of $ 4000!
I refused to do more business with them and got Marin Roofing to do it for less than $ 1000.
Also I got the bill for the roof they charged me for a second layer tear off, which there was only one layer (as it was the original roof) and had to get the guy that came out to do the estimate to admit they made a mistake on the bill, pretty sure they to do to everyone and then credit people when called out.
I would never ever use Wedge Roofing, not even for re-​roofing a dog house, if you care at all about your place don’t bother, I don’t know how they got Diamond Certified at the time but I guess that’s a poor reflection on the Diamond Cert people.
Seriously disappointed.

While the owner responded to my comment in length, all he did was try to defend himself by making it appear that I do not know what I’m talking about. I get it, I’m female, I’m used to workmen treating me this way.
Fact of the matter is that yes, we understand that the two roof sections were performed by two different crews. After the Spanish tile section was «complete», my husband talked to Terry, and asked him about the inspection. You see, the quote included removal of all of the Spanish tile and underlayment, and inspection of the under-​structure to determine if there was additional damage that needed to be fixed. Terry responded that «there was no damage». AFTER this point, I looked at the roof, and noted that none of the tiles appeared to be moved at all, as they were still disorganized and messy. At that point, they claimed they has misunderstood the bid, and the crew came out again, to finally remove the tile, and relay it. Clearly he lied about the original inspection as they had not even removed the tiles at that point to look at it.
As for the leak they came out to check that they blamed it on our window. We just underwent an extensive bottom up water test to determine the source of the leak to get it fixed before winter (yes, it is STILL leaking). We determined that the leaking is not coming from the window. It is not coming from the plaster. It is in fact coming from the mortar where the last section of Spanish tile joins with the wall.
I don’t even trust these guys to fix it, because they refuse to take responsibility for their shoddy work. I’ll be out more hundreds to start over with someone else.

I’ve worked in the construction industry and have used wedge roofing for many projects. They have always performed top-​notch work, and without fail, take the time to address any questions that arise before during and after construction. Many of my projects are very intricate and require great attention to detail. This company has continually handled all of my roofing needs well exceeding my expectations. Wedge Roofing replaced our roof in Calistoga. They provided outstanding work, quality and customer service. When they came out to do the estimates, they were prompt and provided quick turnaround. Once scheduled, they showed up as planned. The men were courteous and did an outstanding job. They kept the site impeccably clean and the roof is beautiful. We highly recommend Wedge Roofing.

A big Shout out for Wedge Roofing, I called on Saturday my gutters were leaking water into our home, by Wednesday the problem was fixed and the owner called me back on Saturday! he asked if he could come and help me secure the house so no damage would happen and said he would do everything he could to get it fixed in the next few days and he did. My husband is a General Contractor and does not like to give out referrals but he always gives out Wedge Roofing because he knows his clients will be taken care of and in 17 years he has never had a complaint from a client for work that has been done by Wedge Roofing. Fantastic communication. They put a roof on my house in 1 day! I didn’t think that was possible. I went to work at 7:30am and they were to arrive at 8am. I came home at 5:30pm with a new roof on my house. Not only did they clean up everything after they left, they even cleaned up all the leaves in front of my house. Super awesome!

I used Wedge Roofing 11 years ago to replace an entire roof on the back of my house and they did an excellent job. Now I needed some gutter work done, so I called them to see if they did that sort of work… and yes they do! They came out to bid the job in a timely manner and their price beat several other bids.
The quality of work & materials, timing of when the work was to be completed, price and professionalism was all 5 stars. I recommend Wedge to anyone that needs roof and gutter work. Awesome company.

Awesome foam roof. Reasonable price.
It wasn’t easy to find someone in the area who would do a foam roof and at a decent price. Wedge was 50−60% of the price of a large Emeryville competitor, and without the high-​pressure tactics to hurry up and schedule. Terry is a great communicator, met me on site, and was very responsive and worked with me through the entire process to maximize the thickness of our foam roof to 2″, even though I’d spend a little more. A few 106 degree days convinced me to go for the maximum effect!
Terry didn’t oversell me and was candid about the fact that more than 2″ wouldn’t necessarily increase the cooling effect of the roof.
I think they were out within three weeks or so in the peak of the summer improvement season, but never pressured me to sign, even gave me a week or two to settle.
