I had a tough birth with my first baby and ended up with an unplanned c-​section. I sought out healing, knowledgeable, kind women during my second pregnancy, because I was absolutely insistent on attempting a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and wanted to surround myself by the «best.» Sharmaine is simply the best. Her personality is warm, friendly and she is also very professional. Her nursing background/​medical knowledge mixed with her kindness and warmth, helped me trust her and confide in her. The skills and information I learned during my time with her, were key elements that I took with me into labor and delivery. In addition, she helped me heal from my previous disappointment of a cesarean. I have been blessed to have Sharmaine as the nurse during the births of both of my children. Because of a back surgery I had when I was a young teenager, I was not able to have an effective epidural for either birth. Lucky for me (for both births), Sharmaine’s nursing shift began just when I thought I couldn’t take the pain anymore. In fact, when I saw her enter the room during the labor for my second child, I burst into tears because I knew I was going to be okay. Sharmaine has an absolutely AMAZING gift. It is almost impossible to put into words the effect she had on me. Others in the room said they could tell immediately after she sat next to me that my whole demeanor changed. My body relaxed and the whole energy in the room was calm. Sharmaine’s technique enables a woman to put her mind in control of her body and to relax when all of your other instincts make you want to tense up. She is truly a miracle worker and I will forever be singing her praises when I tell the story of the birth of my children.

In my experience, hypnotherapy is a very collaborative process that requires a high level of trust in the therapist who is using personal information to guide the patient into a state of hypnosis.
I went to Sharmaine a year ago and I find that I can still feel the benefit of the five or six sessions we had together at that time. I was interested in exploring cellular level healing and I found Sharmaine to be knowledgeable and flexible in her approach.
This was no cookie cutter, one size fit all hypnotherapy. Sharmaine used an original narrative based on the goals that we established in our first session. She experimented to find the techniques that worked best to hypnotize me, including finding the right musical track and she used the knowledge she gleaned in each session to make the following one that much more effective.
At a time where I was dealing with a lot of stress, grief and recovering still from being quite ill, I left each session refreshed and more focused and centered.
I do not hesitate to recommend Sharmaine whose integrity and professionalism was flawless through and through. She made me feel confortable and safe enough to lower my bridges and take the journey deep within, and come back lighter, freer and stronger.
