By continuing our companys education in green building practices and sustainable construction techniques we are trying to raise the standards and perceptions in our industry. Really wanted to get a chance to do business with them seeing as we’d gotten many reviews from friends regarding how pleased they were with their services. But unfortunately, not once but TWICE, we’ve called and never received any response or call back at all. The first call was last fall of 2015, and didn’t receive a callback. I just chalked it up to maybe it was a busy time, so I tried again a couple of weeks ago and this time no call back either. Maybe they are really busy and screen their jobs based on first messages? Still would have liked some call back stating that they were busy and couldn’t do the job… it’s the professional thing to do. Pretty disappointed and will now move on to try another business.

A totally satisfying customer experience. On my backyard project, they excelled at botanical knowledge, irrigation, concrete, welding, fencing, decking, outdoor kitchen construction, and overall good design direction. Owen Mitchell was present for much of the project but also had highly competent employees with keen eyes and deep skills every step of the way; and the final product is amazing.

Incredibly knowledgable, creative and trustworthy. Owen and his team worked tirelessly to meet our every need and completed our yard in record time. When we called him, he arrived the next day and sat down with us, explaining his ideas in great detail — without any hidden agenda. His crew were here everyday and would carry out any request and answer every question. Owen knew what he was doing and cared about our yard just as much as we do. He takes pride in his work and so he should. No hidden costs, no surprise issues and a beautiful result. Owen and his team are all craftsman and we are so grateful for their work. He is allergic to leaving anything incomplete and offered to come back in the future if we had any questions. Don’t go anywhere else until you have spoken with Owen, you’ll regret it.

I can’t beat Cecilia E’s banner about not calling anyone else. Owen does amazing work and last year he took out my thirsty lawn and beautifully landscaped the entire front of the property. But I want to add is a compliment to his follow up maintenance work and the quality of his crew. Prior to finding Owen I’ve tried a few landscape maintenance companies and found that they would do a reasonably good job, but nothing more. Owen’s crew are meticulous, attentive stewards of all the landscaping, even work that was not theirs, and care about each and every plant and tree. If you want someone to care as much about your property as you do, give these guys a call.

When we moved into our new home we were confronted with a barren backyard and didn’t have any idea where to start. Owen created a backyard oasis for us from design concept to completion. He is honest, professional and flexible. He guarantees his work and products. He will research until he finds a resolution. We know this is true since he has helped us resolved a tree issue without reservation.

I called Mitchell based on the reviews. I own a couple of acres in Penngrove and need help maintaining it. More immediately, I wanted help getting my drip/.irrigation fixed and under control. He showed up on time and presented himself as a professional. He said he was interested and that he would send me a bid. A week went by with no response from him. I called him, thinking perhaps I gave him the wrong contact information. He informed me that he had been busy and would get a bid out to me that night. It has been over three weeks with no response from him. Very disappointed.

We interviewed and received quotations from several landscaping companies before deciding on Mitchell Landscapes. They had no upfront design charge which was a huge positive after some wanted over $ 2000 just to give us a preliminary design quotation. Owen worked with us on the design of a complete new backyard, which included a formal paver patio, an informal small compacted gravel reading area for my wife, and removing all existing plants and replanting with drought tolerant plants. In addition he replaced a badly rotting wood retaining wall with a concrete block wall plus removed our tired old decaying fence with a new one. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and definitely recommend Mitchell Landscapes.

Owen and his team just completed my enclosed townhouse back yard, including an expanded cement patio, a GREAT custom L-​shaped bench (including low voltage lighting attached underneath), beautiful plantings in the beds surrounding and patio, a raised bed (so I can finally try to raise veggies) and a small water feature mounted on beautiful stone slabs (MT slate). Neat, timely, professional, accommodating… I can’t say enough. I’ll enjoy my new oasis for years to come! Thanks Owen and Nathan!
