History

Established in 1946.

In 1926 Mario Figone came to Petaluma with his italian immigrant parents, Giovanni and Victoria Figone, at the time Petaluma had about 3000 residents. Mario and his brother John grew up in the house across the street from the bar on the wilson street side. Their Stepfather started the tavern in 1934, drinks at the time were two for twenty five cents and wine sold for 10 cents a glass. Name brand whiskey went for $ 1.60 a quart. Mario and John purchased the tavern in 1946, after Mario returned back from serving in the Army during World War II. Mario continued to run the bar after John passed away, his sons Donnie and John helped him during his later years. Mario passes away in 2010 at 91. Donnie and John continued to run the bar for several years until selling it in 2013. Re-opened in 2014 Mario and John’s continues on, with a new look but the same local neighborhood atmosphere.
