I really love the yogurt, I’ve had all the flavors. Sheep milk’s yogurt is awesome. I get this yogurt at Whole Foods usually. I’ve also had the crème fraîche and that’s great as well.
I haven’t had the ricotta from here yet. The blackberry yogurt is my favorite. If you want a good ice cream recipe for the crème fraîche look at andhereweare’s recipe for black cherry crème fraîche ice cream. Yes I know the yogurt is 2.50 a container, it’s so worth it though!

I was beyond excited to find their sheep milk yoghurt at the grocery store. I had been craving it for years. My grandma used to make it when I was a child and it was heavenly. Sadly their yoghurt was a huge disappointment. It tasted nothing like what I remember. Not sure what process they follow but this is a very sad rendition. I didn’t write a review till now because I figured it was just yet another bad yoghurt in the store.
The reason I am writing it now is because they can do so much better. I found sheep milk from another farm at the store. They don’t make yoghurt, just sell the milk. I decided to take the plunge and try to make it myself. Oh, heavens, I was transported back to my childhood. Amazing!
So this is two stars because you can do so much better!

The yogurt is awesome, I don’t really have a favorite. Their cheeses are equally as good or better. Good products made by good people can’t beat that!

Best yogurt I’ve ever had.
I’ve only had their plain yogurt.
It’s whole milk,. real milk.
With just a little tang,… not as sour/​acidic as other yogurts.
Also, flavored yogurts are too damn sweet, of any manufacturer.
Question: Which company will make flavored yogurts, especially the fruit type, that aren’t as sweet as jam in the fruit filling part,. just mildly sweet is all that needs to be done. I buy Bellwether yogurt in San Diego at OB Peoples and Whole Foods.

Does this delicious healthy product has to be loaded with 20 grams of sugar, really !!!
What a pity that you do not realize that Americans do not want all the sugar that food manufactures force them to have

If you have problems with dairy products try their yogurt!
My room-​mate is lactose intolerant and I have a lung filling reaction to any American dairy product that isn’t organic. Real dairy is problematic in this house. The discovery of this completely amazing sheep yogurt is cause for celebration, and as often as possible.
The yogurt is closer in flavor to cream without the greasy sensation then any yogurt I’ve ever experienced. Delicious and neither of us have a negative reaction to it, except that there is never enough and Fred Meyer in Lacey is the closest source we’ve found.

how is it that Petaluma is such a powerhouse in cheesemaking? so many good places come out of here. Bellwether is no different. the ricotta and ricotta salata are excellent. I keep adding to the list of places after I discovered Andante of dairy purveyors that are rocking it.

i, too, have been bitten by the bellwether vanilla yogurt bug… this dreamy, creamy, slightly tangy and decadent yogurt is my new go-​to when i am jones-​ing for sweetness and tang.
i thought their crème fraîche was amazing — now i can add yogurt to bellwethers’ deliciousnesses — way to go local cheese-​ery! do a demo at a local whole foods (peninsula) and i’ll be there!

I too, never thought I’d be writing a review about yogurt. But I FREAK OUT every time I eat this. It’s like I know it’s good, but I forget how good it is. I just emailed a friend about and let’s be serious, no one thinks it’s normal to email people about yogurt. But I can’t stop telling people about this yogurt.
You know when you start liking a song and then it becomes popular but you can’t be like «oh i liked this song before everyone else did» or else you sound like an a-​hole? That is how I feel about Greek yogurt. And Greek yogurt tastes TERRIBLE compared to this.
This is all the basic information you need about the Bellwether farms sheep milk yogurt (blackberry in particular):
All other yogurt pales in comparison. All other yogurt tastes like spoiled garbage after eating this. This yogurt is like the nectar of the gods. This yogurt is also a billion percent fat but I can’t bring myself to care because it’s that good.

I never thought I would post a review about Yogurt… that being said, Bellwether is as good as it gets. Rich, creamy, decadent, i’m in heaven. I’m currently in the middle of the Vanilla yogurt right now and all I can say is YUM, I feel like i’m eating dessert! Made with a blend of Madagascar Bourbon and Indonesian vanilla beans, it tastes so velvety with a little tang. The Blueberry and Strawberry are so flavorful but not overly sweet as most fruit flavored yogurts tend to be, Blackberry is my favorite. These people know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to making yogurt; it’s more expensive than most but there’s nothing that compares to the taste! Well worth the $ 2+ spent.

I buy this stuff in Seattle and it’s the best plain yogurt I’ve ever had. I’m a plain full fat yogurt fan. (Low fat is thin and watery and non-​fat plain is just gross.) Bellwether sheeps milk rocks. Put it on your toasted baguette and go to heaven.

Natasha knows of what she speaks — this yogurt is a taste of heaven on earth. I adore it. It must be the sheep’s milk for this yogurt does not have that «bite» that so many people don’t like or can’t get used to. Creamy, dreamy, and so fresh you could slap it! I buy the plain and add fresh fruit.
Their cheeses rock my world too which are available at more places than just Whole Foods. .. .demand that your favorite market carry at least the yogurt.

Who knew? That Bay Area’s own Petaluma is home to one of only a handful of sheep dairies in the United States, and apparently the only one in the Western U.S., and that Bellwether Farms’ cheeses have garnered prestigious awards from Cheese Award-​Giving-​Type Orgs. All you cheese whores, I presume. But did you also know that Bellwether Farms makes a Mind Blowing Sheep Milk Yogurt? Probably.
Incredibly fresh, simple and all natural. With large specks of Real Madagascar Vanilla Bean, BF’s Vanilla yogurt has such a nice tang to it, too, perfectly mixed with the refreshing vanilla flavor and thick and smooth texture. Pricey for yogurt. But I’ll be back.
