Don is great! He met with us a few times and was thoughtful and patient.
We did two interior rooms and will be doing the outside of the house as well. He is great at color… he neutralized our ugly floor, it looked terrible with the wood cabinets and granite counters in the kitchen, now it looks amazing!
Our living room looks classy but still fun.
We also worked on a larger commercial job at a winery and it looks 100% better than before.
His guys are considerate and careful. I couldn’t be happier! I can’t wait for our house to get painted! He is very reasonable too, won’t break the bank! It is so worth it to have pros do the painting!

Don has a gift for selecting colors. He also recommends the best quality paints for optimal results. I had a small job, but Don took exceptional care to ensure that the results were perfect. He is professional and courteous and takes great pride in a job well done.

We worked with Don recently to repaint the house we have recently bought which desperately needed repainting.
Don and his team were able to come in and get the place repainted quickly, despite finding out that whoever had previously painted the place had used latex over oil pain on the trim, meaning that it needed to be stripped down. Despite this added extra work, the painting was finished on time and we were able to move into a wonderful looking home.

Don and his crew (Angelica and John) are more than painters — they are master craftsmen. Don painted my house, both the exterior and a couple of interior rooms. The exterior had not been painted in probably 25 years or more. The house is stucco, built in the 1940s, and needed what turned out to be fairly extensive clean-​up and repairs. We had anticipated some of this repair in his initial bid (which was very competitive with others) but it turned out to be much more extensive than anyone realized. He was very fair with me in assessing my options and how to handle the additional work. The bids I got from other companies did not include repair work at all and I would have had to rely on an additional contractor for this work. Don has a contractor on board, which enabled them to work very quickly and efficiently; they were able to do it all and to do it «right», respecting the integrity of the house as well as my needs. Don and his crew were fantastic through it all.
Don is also a master at color and design. I had a pretty good idea of the color scheme and the look-​and-​feel I wanted (I was changing this quite dramatically from what was there previously).Don was superb at working with me to refine my vision, recommending different tones, finishes, and even a custom stain for a couple of the doors.
The reaction to the finished job has been consistently «Wow!», «Amazing!», and «Excellent!». I listen to neighbors walk by and rave over it and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend Don Baker and his crew! for a truey high quality professional outcome!!!

I will try and keep this brief! My family is 100% pleased with Don and the team at Baker Painting & Decorating. We looked at 3 options for painting about 90% of the interior of our Petaluma home, and we are happy that we chose Baker Painting & Decorating. We just bought a home in Petaluma and needed the entire interior of the home painted. We had a couple referrals for painters in the area and I met with a half dozen contractors, including Don, to get bids on the project. Pricing was obviously a concern, but I think more importantly I wanted to make sure the contractor had an eye for detail and quality that exceeded my own and that he/​she would be able to get the work done consistently and efficiently. When Don did a walkthrough of my home, it was night and day compared to other contractors. He quickly identified many things I had not even considered. I was really impressed with his attention to detail and while not the cheapest bid, the price was right on par with other contractors from the area.
Don and his crew finished the work on schedule and did a phenomenal job! He even did a couple extra things that weren’t in the bid, because those details mattered to him — this to me speaks volumes about a contractor. I couldn’t be happier that we went with Don for this project. It has now been about 4 weeks since the work was done, I still have yet to find any problems with the work. However, I’m not concerned — I know that if an issue does arise, Don will take care of it personally and that’s a HUGE relief for us.
I highly recommend Don for any of your painting needs and I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again for any future work we need done.

Don worked beautifully with our designer, who had «special» painting requirements and designs, including, Whiteboard & Blackboard paint stripes, curved stripe, circles, squares and multiple color combinations, all of which required extreme accuracy and in the case of the Whiteboard & Blackboard painting, lots of research, prep and several coats. Don was a designer’s «dream» painter, accommodating changes & additions to the job and working within the restrictions of our business hours. Don Baker painted one of my bedrooms that was a disaster of color before he started. It had been sky blue… then painted over partially with blood red… the ceiling was white. It was an American flag nightmare. Don chose this extraordinary terra cotta burnt orange that was both warm and bright at the same time. Grown up, sexy and soothing all at once. I never would have thought to use a color like that, but it was exactly the right color for my room! Just being in the room makes me happy now. He was fast, clean and professional. I’ve never had better service in any industry! Definitely call Don Baker if you want an excellent job!
