My husband, son and I have been clients at First Impressions for several years, but until about two years ago, I went to the salon only for occasional pedicures. After a 24-year relationship with my hair stylist on Newbury St. came to an end when he moved on to Cambridge, I went through two ‘rebound’ stints of about two years each with Maxime in Hingham(overpriced, very high personnel turnover… see review) and Charles David(pretty good until a really bad haircut… see review). The bad cut at Charles David sent me into the arms of Stacey Savage, one of the owners at First Impressions, who performed a superb fix and has been my stylist ever since. The shop is large enough to offer full services for hair, make-up, facials, and nail care, and yet small enough to enjoy feeling catered to rather than pushed through a production line. And pricing is quite reasonable compared to the aforementioned shops. For cut, color and foils I pay $ 150 every 7 weeks. The staff have all been with the salon for several years — no revolving door here. Highly recommended,
