I get my hair done maybe twice a year. Between kids, work, and other life errands, there’s just never any time. I walked into Salon C expecting to be turned away for not having an appointment, but wasn’t. Lorna made time. She offered a deep conditioning; Combed out all my tangles; Cut my hair just like I asked (not taking off too much); and finished it off with a blow out. I left looking and feeling 10 times better. Thank you Lorna.
Clean environment. Friendly staff. Quick billing. Very very reasonable pricing. In fact, I tipped 40% the cut was so inexpensive.

I hadn’t had my hair done in 8 months and finally got a day off work that the kids were in school and drove around to 5 different salons until Salon C took me as a walk in. Suzy was great! Got me right in and did an awesome job with my color to blend my gray roots on with the rest of my long hair and cut all the damage off and did long layers. Half the price I was spending in south Carolina before my move! Super friendly too!

Cute little salon servicing different types of hairstyles. The only draw back is the parking. I had to drive around a couple of times before I found one. The staff is friendly. And they listen to what you want to do with your hair. I like coming here for my haircuts.

Do NOT go to this place on Sundays. The ladies are rude, unprofessional, and blatantly ignore you if you’re not one of their usual clients. I went yesterday for a partial highlight and wasn’t very happy with the outcome so I went back and waited in the waiting area for 30 MINUTES without being acknowledged with even a «good morning». When I finally walked over to the closest employee to ask for the managers number she told me that I couldn’t have it numerous times before finally conceding. I have been going to this hair salon for months and have never had a problem but after today I would NEVER recommend this salon to anyone. Terrible! If I could leave 0 stars I would.

I recommend that NO ONE goes here for lash extensions. This was my first time ever getting eye lash extensions. My coworker/​friends would tell me the service takes about an hour to an hour and half depending on how full I want it. Well, I came here… she took over THREE AND A HALF HOURS. She didn’t give me an option on how full or what kind of length I wanted. Half way threw the service It felt like there was globs of glue stuck to my eyelashes. So she started pulling at it– and it’s GLUE STUCK TO MY EYELASHES so of course it hurt when she was basically pulling my real eye lashes out. And because she pulling the lashes out, she had to reapply it. Which is why it took close to 4 hours! And to top it off, the way she applied it to my left eye the lashes was scraping my eye so my eyes were bloodshot red constant watering. She offered visine so that was nice of her i guess. Unreal. Sweet little old lady… but she doesn’t know what she’s doing. I honestly don’t know why i paid for this service.

Sophia is simply awesome! I was referred to her due to her expertise and impression she’s left on my own long time hair dresser. I thoroughly enjoy our hair sessions and learning something new evrytime we meet. She is reasonably priced and is all about integrity. I am amazed to see her in her element of doing hair. You can tell she loves what she does and she is soooo good at it! Sophia coordinates with my long time sylist Lorna as my hair needs both of their expert serivces. She is flexible, dependable and respectable. I hope she never leaves me! She’s a life time stylist in my book! Thanks Sophie for all your talent!

I highly reccomend Annette! She’s awesome I get my hair styled by her quarterly! :). She listens to your requests and gives you recommendations and ideas. You can even show her a photo to show how you would want your hair cut, she can totally do it! Great conversationalist and affordable prices too!

I called in this morning to set an appointment up with my usual hairstylist only to be greeted with a rude woman answering the phone and telling me to call back later!!! She even hung up on me twice!!! I can not believe you run your biz like this and I will never go back here again! This is not the way you treat your customers!

Lovely new salon! My stylist, Leonie is always so nice and does an amazing job. The location is conveniently located near ihop in pearlridge and the prices are do affordable fir the high quality service.

Annette is fantastic. She made me feel at ease when I explained to her my issues with thinning hair. She cut my hair & took everything I told her into consideration. I left the salon looking & feeling amazing.
The reason for the 4 star is the spacing of the stations. It was a bit congested.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this place. Maybe it depends on the stylist? They were very helpful in accommodating an expired living social deal that I had. Annette really listened and gave me exactly what I wanted.
The only reason I gave only four stars was that when I reminded my stylist toward the end of my shampoo that I was supposed to get the «deep conditioning treatment», the only difference from a normal wash seemed to be putting me under the dryer for 10 minutes. Maybe the heat really does make a difference? But it still didn’t seem worth $ 25 to me.
I’ll go back to Annette anyway!

Forget the sun and sand. You know what I missed the most about Hawaii when I moved away? Christopher at Salon C. No one cuts hair like he does. No one can make my hair a beautiful chocolate brown like this man. He is wonderful in every way possible.
A hairdresser back home messed by color up a few days before I flew to Hawaii for my wedding. I was a crying mess but my man emailed Christopher and he came to my rescue. I can’t even count the times Christopher has stayed late or come in on his day off because of me. He is truly dedicated to his craft.
The color correct was done in about an hour and a half, which is great considering he had to carefully apply two colors to my hear and make sure they didn’t mix. I walked away looking phenomenal. I know this because people told me.
Just a side note, I love that I can have an intelligent conversation with Christopher. I also like that he just lets me be when I’m zoning out on my phone. Recently, he’s been picked up as a representative for TIGI. He deserves it!

Went here twice for living social facial deals. The first time was just okay. The girl was young, she talked a lot, tried to sell me her product pyramid line, but it was okay for a good deal. There was no one to greet me at my 9am facial, I sat there until she came out 10 minutes later. We didn’t get started for a while after. She used a magnet to take the magnetic topical off my face which was a little neat to expirience
Second time was this past weekend with a different esthetitian, Kimberly for a facial. No one greeted me this time as I walked in again at 9am. However, Kimberly came in about 3 minutes to 9 and brought me in the room. I saw that she was smoking, so I was a little scared I would have to smell it the entire facial. Only in the beginning did I smell it, but the rest of the smells from the facial took over. Kimberly was relaxing and I felt so refreshed after. She used this heavy paste and left it on for awhile. My face felt like there was concerete drying on it, however she started to pull it off and it was a ceramic mask of my face. I got to keep the ceramic mask. Very cool!
I did reschedule with Kimberly for next month. I did like that she massaged my hands and scalp while wating for the mask to dry.

I just moved to the island and was in search of a new salon and stylist — based on it’s location to where I live and the Unilocal reviews, I decided to give Salon C a try. I called and asked to make an appointment, though I didn’t request anyone in particular. I was assigned to Shy, which ended up being a great experience!
As a previous reviewer mentioned, Shy is talented, sweet, and easy to chat with. My hair took a while to cut (it hadn’t been done in some time and I ended up cutting about 6 inches off, with layers and side bangs added in), but by the end, it looked fantastic and was exactly what I wanted. With the wash, cut, and blow/​style, it was $ 45, which is about what I’m used to paying (having moved from Boston).
All the stylists appeared to be talented — I didn’t see or notice any disasters while I was there, but Shy I would definitely recommend!
As to parking, I found it relatively easy and was able to park right in front of the salon. I don’t know if it differs during different times of the day, but I was there around 2pm and there seemed to be plenty of spots.
UPDATE (January 2013): I called Salon C to schedule another hair appointment (hadn’t gotten my hair cut since April, oops!) and sadly Shy had moved as her husband was military. I decided to take my chances with whoever was available that Saturday, and I was scheduled with Annette. She did a great job with my hair, and was so friendly and personable as well! I highly recommend Annette if you visit Salon C. Just don’t take my time slots!

Salon C is located in the Times Square Shopping Center across from Cattle Company Steakhouse. It’s the same building where that fitness center used to be a loooooong time ago. There are a couple parking lots but usually the center is packed since there are so many stores and restaurants. It may take a bit to find parking but you will get a spot… or park faaaaar away and you’re sure to get a spot right away.
I usually go to Salon C to get my hair done by a *fabulous* stylist. On my recent visit though, I went for a facial. I had purchased a Living Social deal for a 75 minute facial for $ 35. SCORE! I have been so busy with work, family, dogs, and life… that I really needed a day of relaxation so I decided to redeem the voucher.
I made the appointment about 4 weeks in advance so ensure I got the date and time I wanted. Making the appointment was very easy and the gentleman on the phone was very nice and pleasant. I received a friendly reminder phone call the day before (which was appreciated) and I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment. The receptionist who checked me in was very friendly. I was offered water/​tea (which I declined) and then was told to have a seat until my esthetician was ready for me. When she arrived, she greeted me, shook my hand, offered me water/​tea, and asked if I needed to use the restroom. I declined all so she lead me to the back of the salon to a small room where they do the facials.
It is MUCH smaller than what I’m used to… but it got the job done. She explained how to remove my top and use the provided wrap, how to put up my hair, and which covers to go under. A polite knock on the door after I was ready and the session started. She asked me questions about my skin type, things I’m allergic to, etc. To sum up the facial, I received a: resurfacing cleanse, multivitamin exfoliation treatment, upper body massage, facial massage, sulfa masque and a multivitamin firmiing masque. She did some extractions to my forehead but stated that I didn’t have very many blackheads so no extractions were done to my nose or chin (yay few blackheads lol!)
During the session she chit chatted a bit — we talked a little about personal stuff and we talked more about skin care lines and makeup. She was extremely informative and taught me about great skin care lines for my sensitive acne prone skine, as well as good makeup brands which provide great coverage and won’t clog the pores. The upper body and facial massage was great! All in all, it was a nice experience and I enjoyed the facial.
My esthetician was Tatum. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her if you’re looking to get a facial!

This review is for Christopher. Co-​owner of the Salon and master stylist. Although another reviewer’s opinion, obviously differed, I can’t say what her experience was. I can only tell you how awesome mine was.
I went to see Chris for this new style of straightening called a Brazilian Blow Out but ended up getting something similar and the product he used was better. If you haven’t heard, Brazilian Blowouts are like totally toxic fumey. Salon C won’t use this product. Cool for me! Cool for you, too! The product is a Pro Keratin treatment. It starts with a hair wash, drying, product, sitting, drying, blow out and then flat ironing.
First, Chris is very engaging and friendly. He was super easy to talk to and knowledgeable. I learned things in that chair, peoples. I asked questions and he answered them. Hair questions. Dog breeding questions. Dog show/​highly prized pedigree questions. Again. He knew lots of stuff.
Chris knows that I go to the gym every morning and took that into consideration. He double washed my hair. With this treatment, I only have to wait a day unlike the Japanese system, where you have to wait 3 days and by day 3, everyone in the office is complaining about the funk as you walk past them.
I just got it done yesterday and as this is a review about Chris, not the product, I figured I could just put something down today. But in saying that, I must say that I’ve already gotten compliments on the hair. The texture is silky smooth and I can’t wait till the end of this month when I go in to see Lily for a cut/​style.
I highly recommend going to Chris for this hair treatment because he takes his time and is just easy and fun to talk to. I even gave his name and number to a couple of girls at the gym this morning!
Having moved back from NYC and Los Angeles, you sort of get used to the dog friendly atmosphere. Moving back to Hawaii and being made aware of the lack of establishments that allow pets into them is interesting. Although. if ya aint got no sign on ya door, I’m bringing my Dante in. I get looks from some bank staff when I take him in but you’re not serving food, My dog is well behaved, And lastly, you don’t have a sign on your door that says I cannot bring him into your place of business.
My last and probably my most favorite part about coming to Salon C is they love dogs! Look, dogs aren’t running around all over the store and I had Dante on a leash. I think he did pretty good for his first time in a people Salon.
