Just to be clear, Wanda and her husband have closed their shop and business. Hopefully not forever, but the last time I spoke to her at the beginning of 2015 she said they wanted to concentrate on family life.
As for the review of Wanda, her husband, the shop (when they had it), the phone order service, and their products… one word… Excellent. Wanda was always great to work with, very polite and understanding, very strict on privacy, and made the most beautiful arrangments. She was my go to florist from when they were at 550 Paiea St, and continued to be so for about 8 or 9 years until she sadly closed up. I hope she reopens because I will be the first one in line to order from them again. I can’t say enough good things about this company.

I’m not sure what other people are looking for but for me Petals & Beans is the BEST!!!

I first went to their store when it was by the Airport only because the smell of coffee lured me in. (I only went into this location twice)
Since then, I’ve been using them via through their website and over the phone.
Being a procrastinator and being married to someone who thinks things can happen with a snap of his fingers, Petals & Beans has always come through for me/​us.
The fact that they keep track of what baskets I’ve sent in the past has kept me from duplicating my order and I thoroughly appreciate it!
And today, as usual, they are getting out a last minute birthday gift basket to my husband’s co-​worker who is just the kindest guy.
My husband’s personal favorites are the dessert trays. So far each dessert tray he has received on his birthday he has loved but the cheesecake one was my favorite.
So just to be clear, I’m not someone that needs to go into a store.
Web based businesses work great for me!

I was one week out from my 30^th birthday party when I received an email from Wanda, from Petals and Beans, saying she couldn’t complete my order. When I called her she said she was perturbed that I wanted another mock-​up and was upset that I didn’t like any of her arrangements. To be clear, we loved her arrangements but were concerned as to their their size as she only emailed us pictures and quality, as an arrangement we ordered for a friend wilted with in two days. Wanda is simply too sensitive to be in an industry where feedback and constructive criticism is part of the design process. She left me hanging, with only one week to find another florist.

THIS WEBSITE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED! I Google Map this place after reading the reviews. I needed to buy a lei and I must admit, the pictures of the drinks really enticed me. Maps led me through a residential area in Pearl City. I called the phone number listed and a guy answers and says the shop is closed. They only take phone orders. Great! No lei or drink! I wish this site was updated so I didn’t waste my time on a goose chase.
I didn’t want to rate this business and I think it is unfair since I’m not rating the quality of the product but I have no choice if I want to save this review. So 1 star just because this site isn’t updated. I even had to rate the price range, even though I didn’t make a purchase. (Something to consider Unilocal!)

I found this business because I wanted a gift basket delivered to my dad by a business on the island. I live on the mainland and find it unreasonable or impossible to ship anything to Hawaii. He’s a fan of the local stuff, so I ordered an Island Style basket, which also isn’t too feminine.
Not only did the owner snap a picture of my dad receiving the basket, he sent it to me in a text and via email. He told me he does it for those of us who order from off the island. However, my dad had recently taken ill, and unknowingly, the owner gave me quite a bit of insight to the condition my dad truly was in. He was kind enough to communicate with me in a most compassionate and human manner –something I don’t get where I live in the tourist capital of the world (Orlando).
The basket was as described. My father was thoroughly pleased with the aesthetics as well as the content. The price was very reasonable and it was delivered on time.

This is a late review but I have to share the wonderful experience I had with this florist! I never actually went into the shop but I called them on the phone to request an order for sympathy flowers. Because there was a death in my family, I was emotional on the phone and they were so sweet. They gave me a moment to collect myself and then explained my options. The only downside (that resulted in loss of a star) was the price. They were very steep in my opinion. I opted to spend $ 40, even though they recommended spending at least $ 50.
Even though I didn’t take their recommendation, they were still very sweet and worked with me to make sure that the arrangement was perfect. In a sensitive time, they were extremely understanding and accommodating! I asked them to send me a picture of the arrangement when they were finished and before they delivered it and they emailed it to me right away! i was so impressed at the professional yet caring demeanor they had throughout the whole process. They even called me when they delivered the arrangement… perfect service!

How do you make a 6 year old, a 10 year old and two 30-​mumble year olds cry? Close down the Petals & Beans store!!! Waaaaaah!!! ;(
Our boys had had awesome parent-​teacher conferences, and of course they chose to go visit Aunty Wanda for a little reward snack. We get there, the store is practically empty, and theres a sign on the door — theyve moved to a new workshop facility. No more bubble drinks?!? Noooooooo…
We are very sad, and will miss the quality that Wanda and Dennis always produced. And the chocolate whipped cream. Amen.

I assumed a coffee shop located next to P. F changs in the ward area would be expensive but it was so dirt cheap I felt like I was stealing from them! I had the best chai latte here — so flavorful! The smell was even better! I tasted cinnamon, nutmeg and even a hint of white chocolate (I wonder if it’s actually in there). It was hot and frothy… for only $ 2.40! Where can you get that kind of price these days? Especially in ward!
Even with the low prices, they accept the ID card for 20% off. Craziness.
I understand the «petals» part now… they’re a part flower shop and the flowers are so beautiful! Huge exotic looking roses and lillies! They look expensive but they’re probably not either. I want to come back to price the flowers and try their other beverages but so far the CHAI latte hits it out of the park!

I love Petals and Beans because of the people. The husband/​wife team that run this place are so personable. Of course their drinks are good, but what sets this place apart is the fact that they are ON IT when delivering gift baskets or flowers. I used them for Mother’s Day and birthdays and I never have to worry whether it’d get delivered with style.

Petal & Beans is the one of the BEST café’s in Hawaii!!! The couple who runs the place are super nice and friendly! The drinks are custom made by them and their snacks (cakes/​cookies/​sandwiches) are all super ONO!!! You won’t regret coming here!
Their coffees are all good but i highly recommend their hazelnut coffee! Also, they have 2 big plasma tvs that are always playing movies on it so if you wanted to have a break from studying you can watch a movie in the cool AC air with a nice view of Ala Moana beach park!
Petals & Beans is also a floral shop! They sell the most beautiful roses i’ve ever seen! THe lady that works there also does the most gorgeous flower arrangements for you! So if you ever wanted a café to relax and get some nice flowers for that special someone this is the place to go!

Stopped by here for some breakfast while waiting for my hair appointment next door.
Very friendly service, great assortment of pastries, sweets and goodies to decide on.
I had a bagel which the saleslady toasted for me and cream cheese. I love the atmosphere and they were playing Grease on the TV.
I’ll definitely be back to try the infamous KC Waffle Dog and some coffee drinks!

My mother introduced me to this place a few years ago when they were located near the airport. Since i’m a townie, they moved and opened a location in the Hokua building, which is so convenient! For parking, you can park in the parking structure, the entrance is located on the left side of Tango. They also validate up to 2 hours so if you’re studying, also a great place to be.
I love coming for their Mocha Espresso Shake. Probably the best mocha shake i’ve ever had. You have a choice of Vanilla or chocolate whip cream topped with colored sprinkles, and a cherry to top it off.
Recently i’ve had their KC waffle dog and drink combo, and the waffle dog is made to order. Crispy outside. so delicious!

Been dying to try this forever, a mix of a florist/​gift shop and a coffee/​pastry place. I was kinda dissapointed, everything seemed to be overpriced and not as unique as I heard.
They have different kinds of coffees, lattes and teas. Juice, pastry and fruit. I got the Chai tea in an 8oz. It was super sugary! Chai in my experience/​opinion should have a nice spicy flavour, but this was like drinking sweet milk. Lucky it was small.
All in all cute idea, but pricey and not the best I’ve ever had.
I also see they have moved from Ala Moana area, this review is for prior to that…

When I read a recent ROTD on Petals and Beans and read that they sell $ 1 KC Waffle Hot Dogs, I was there the next day with one of my fellow die hard KC Waffle Hot Dog friends! We were sooo excited we couldn’t contain ourselves! But our cheap Pake food parade was no sooner rained upon when we found out that the KC Waffle Dogs were NOT $ 1 like one review said, but $ 3.75! Shucks, instead of having a glutton fest of 4 waffle dogs, looks like were were just going to be having 1 (in retrospect, that’s probably a good thing, haha). The good thing, is that like other reviews say, there is a coupon on Yowza, an iphone ap for 20% off, or the store offers $ 1 off any waffle dog and drink combo. We went for the combo. Which was a satisfyingly calorie filled fest, but oh so worth it!
The KC Waffle Dog speaks for itself, the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The hot dog is juicy and not very greasy, as far as hot dogs go. They also make it fresh when you order. The strawberry freeze with yogurt was yummy! There are a ton of flavors to choose from for the freezes… it’s made with some kind of flavored syrup. I tried my friend’s smoothie with ice cream, and I preferred the yogurt to the ice cream. The ice cream was pretty strong and creamy, but hey, some people like that, so depends on your preference.
The man working there was really nice. All of the 3 tables there were full, so we sat on the bench in front of PF Chang’s to eat. I think if the owners were to put more tables inside or out, more people may stop in to have a coffee, drink or dog. Free parking. All in all, happy to have had my waffle dog fix, but so sad it wasn’t just $ 1.

As the name of the shop implies they are a floral and coffee shop. I checked out the Unilocal reviews and noticed the majority of reviews are for the «Beans» side so here is my flower power experience to represent the «Petals» end of the shop.
My mom discovered Petals and Beans years ago, back when they were at the plaza mall area near the airport. (Note: Petals and Beans has moved to Ala Moana Blvd and Queen St, next to PF Chang’s. They validate 2 ½ hours for parking so you can order your flowers and enjoy your java). Over the years, arrangements created by Wanda have graced the desks of our work place and dazzled the center of our kitchen table. Roses, hydrangeas and star gazers are always a delight but there are also exotic flowers I couldn’t even name that are the true show stoppers.
This week a friend had a birthday and naturally my family sent flowers. They were vibrant and beautiful as always. A lemon cut in half made the arrangement unique and the vase was actually a glass pitcher for Lemonade. Clever idea for the summer! I’ve ordered leis, flower wreaths (biodegradable-​safe for the fishies), floral arrangements, and gift baskets and my expectations have been exceeded every time.
My mom would always say, «there is nothing like freshly cut flowers from Petals and Beans» and she was so right. My suggestion is go for the Petals and stay for the Beans.

Wow I just wasted a year of my life! I live upstairs and never even realized this place was here until this morning lol.
If you want some coffee and bagels in a very relaxing quiet setup this is the place. Their
coffee is also amazing. They have espresso shakes which are basically frapps but eay better then starbucks and yes I do love starbucks.
I also tried for the first time. a waffle dog… Only a dollar and very good I kind of ate it in 3 bites but no one was around and I was hungry lol.
This is a mom and pop shop both very friendly they mentioned get the app «where» on my blackberry for discounts.

Enjoy my only regret is I didn’t try it sooner this place is going to make daily ritual status hhhahahha

what: either one of the most unique flower shops in the state or one of the most beautiful coffee bars.
something good: the customer service here is superb! dennis is a coffee and tea genius and wanda is a master of gift baskets and arrangements. i have gotten both drinks and arrangements from here and i’ve never been dissapointed with either service :)
something not so good: i can’t think of any, i’m sure you won’t be able to either!

First, if you have a iPhone or iTouch, download the Yowza! app. It’s FREE (such a wonderful 4-​letter word isn’t it?) and it gives you coupons! Seriously genius. Or Pake… however you wanna look at it. After its downloaded, open up the app, and you should see a listing of participating stores. Tap on the listing for Petals & Beans, and it will show you the store info (including a Google Map) and THREE coupons. One is for 20% off all Bubble Drinks, 20% off Espresso Beverages, Smoothies, and Shakes, and the last is for 20% off a KC Waffle Dog. Limit one coupon per visit. Whoa whoa whoa, wait, back it up… Did you read that right? KC WAFFLE DOGS!!! I’ve never been privileged with having one from KC Drive-​Inn, but I used to work at a small local shop that also used to sell these original bad boys. For my second day of work, I had to make waffle dogs aaaaall.daaaaay.looooong and I got SICK of em! Yes, sick of waffle dogs! Blasphemy isn’t it? Anyways, since our shop closed down, I could no longer get waffle dogs in a moment’s notice, and now my arteries are in trouble again.
Third… embrace yourself now. Please sit down if you’re not already.

CHOCOLATE WHIPPED CREAM.
Such a glorious term isn’t it?! It’s free if you get a Mocha or a Thai Mocha, but 50 cents (I think) on any other drink. Yes you DO have fifty cents! You know why?
Because parking is FREE! (There’s that wonderful 4-​letter word again!) Park in the garage and make sure you get your ticket validated by the adorably sweet hard-​working owner. She is one of those genuine people who actually like to interact with her customers!
Fourth… oh, fifth? If the chocolate whipped cream doesn’t do you in, here’s what will. If you’re a Mocha-​holic like me, the following word matters: GUITTARD. They use Guittard chocolate sauce to make their mochas. Translation = Goooooood stuff!!! This isn’t your generic Hershey’s chocolate syrup that you can buy in the grocery store, this is higher-​end chocolate! Okay, it’s no Valrhona or Scharffen Berger, but it’s still great chocolate. That’s major kudos in my book!
Desserts are decent. Any place that does samplers gets high marks from an indecisive person like me. A lemon bar, a caramel apple bar, an Oreo bar, and some sort of toffee cheesecake bar made up my sampler that day. While all were good, no piece was a show-​stopper for me, but I’ve been told I’m way too critical when it comes to desserts, haha.
Indoor seating is at a bare minimum, with only two tables and two uncomfortably-​hard wood benches to accompany them. So if you’ve got no cushion on your okole, I suggest finding another place if you wanna sit to enjoy your drinks.
I think I had more points, but seriously, do you need any more reasons to go? Ohh! Yes you do. If you’re a procrastinator like me, and are still running around doing Christmas shopping, Petals & Beans is the perfect pitstop in-​between Ward and Ala Moana so you can refuel for all that last-​minute gift-​buying that you just started an hour ago.
