History

Established in 1991.

I started Rob Rainey Video Inc. in 1991 after almost ten years as a staff cameraman with CBS News. I traveled throughout the USA on assignments for CBS, as well as to Europe, Central America, Cuba and Japan. From 1980 to 1982, I worked as a freelance cameraman for ABC News, CBS News and NBC News. The broadcast and cable TV networks are still among my best clients, but I also shoot projects for corporate clients and independent producers. I specialize in documentary style video production and own some of the most complete high definition and 4K field production equipment packages in the country. I am the recipient of multiple national Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and a Dupont-​Columbia Award for my work with CBS «60 Minutes» and was named the 2014 Distinguished Journalism Alumnus by Auburn University.
