Sky River Rv

We had such a terrible disappointing experience with Sky River RV. We found a toy hauler through their website we wanted to purchase and they were extremely helpful in the process of purchasing, once we paid for the trailer the service stopped.
We drove four hours to pick up the trailer and upon arrival found out it wasn’t ready. They forgot we were coming and we had to sit for two and a half hours waiting for them to get the trailer ready.
They provided a spec sheet on what was included in the trailer. Once we arrived home we realized the fold down table was missing and the screen in the back had completely fallen off its hinges during the drive home. When we contacted them to let them know the table was missing they said we purchased it as is and even though the table was listed on the spec sheet they were not responsible for providing it. Additionally they said the screen was our problem to fix, when we contacted them with the warranty documents and the spec sheet showing it should be included they refused to respond.
I contacted them various times to try and get a response and they ignored every email and phone call. Terrible customer service, would not recommend.

So far I like Pismo but I am not done yet.

OMG WE ARE IN TOTAL SHOCK AND DISBELIEF!!! This place is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE in customer service for a NewMar dealership! We have a problem with our coach entry steps, they are being held up with a ratchet strap! We stopped in here because they are a NEWMAR dealer on advice of the factory customer service person back in Indiana, we went in and were told no one is available to look at the steps and they couldn’t possibly look at it until into OCTOBER, THIS IS THE THIRD WEEK OF AUGUST!!! Offered absolutely no help what so ever, this is the absolute worst treatment we’ve ever had from a dealer!!! We bought in Nebraska, have been into other dealerships in the Midwest for small issues and they all bent over backwards to help resolve issue. Even taking parts off new coaches on their lots to get us going quickly and not have to sit and wait for parts. Dealerships in Arizona have been equally as helpful!
This place gets a MINUS 10 stars, and won’t ever be recommended to our worst enemy, our treatment will be shared, we have many friends in motor homes out here in CA., Newmar owners as well as other brands!

I took my travel trailer to Sky River RV in Paso Robles and left it with the service department to a get an estimate on a floor repair. Three months later I contacted Sky River after not hearing from the service department. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that the gentleman who repaired floors was out of state and would not be back for 2 – 3 months. I questioned her on why I was not advised of this months ago as my trailer was just sitting on the lot. She became rude in her tone and told me to come pick my trailer up without further explanation. I asked to talk to her manager and she told me she did not have one, and if she did have a manager, that he would also tell me to come pick my trailer up. A short time later during my conversation, she tells me that her manager did not want to do the repair to begin with. I then questioned her on why she had just told me she didn’t have a manager, and she changed her story saying he was out of town and unavailable, but she would leave him a message to return my call. I picked my trailer up a few days later and again the lady was rude in her tone and by this time I still had not heard from the manager. I stopped by the front office on my way out and spoke with the sales manager. The sales manager stated he did not know why I had not received a phone call back and apologized, assuring me that I would receive a call. Here we are three months later and I am still waiting for that phone call back. I will never do business there again, which is sad because I am local and would rather keep my tax dollars right here. I was able to do the repairs myself.

The search for the RV of our Dreams took us back to Sky River RV in Paso Robles. CARL is an absolute pleasure to work with and ERIC guided us in financing options with ease. Angel was also on-​site with friendly «Hello» when we were welcomed to the facility.
Give this Sky River location your business. They really do everything right here. Customers are treated with kindness and respect, the facility is very clean and the inventory is expansive with every type of RV imaginable, in every price range to fit your budget. There are no high pressure sales here. No monster behind the curtain. Just real good folks all around.
We picked out a 2015 Winnebago SunStar 26HE. The price was the best we found anywhere (even better that «mega» dealership in Texas!) and putting together the deal with Carl was a real joy.
The Sunstar will serve to carry my Spouse, a Disabled Veteran and all his medical equipment, anywhere we need to go. It’s our magic carpet for the best two years of my husband’s life. We are not waiting for some day… we are doing this now and Sky River helped make the dream come true.

September 2014-​This is a review for Angel at Sky River’s Paso location. We went through the ringer with Sky River Pismo Beach, but without any other option from Santa Barbara to Paso Robles, we decided to try another location of Sky River and called the Paso Robles location. Angel was kind and professional from the beginning and we were not easy buyers. We had many special needs (my husband is a disabled Veteran and our intent was to outfit the RV as a type of personal ambulance. Plus I have a life and death allergy to cigarette residue so we needed to hire a non-​smoker driver to deliver our RV from the factory in Indiana to Sky River). We ordered a brand-​new Coachman Freelander 21QB Anniversary Edition Class C RV from the factory through Sky River Paso Robles and paid the $ 6,000.00 deposit. There was an issue with the credit app where they ran it multiple times and our credit took a hit for this, but it was not Angel’s fault and he seemed genuinely upset that someone else ran our credit.
After a few weeks we got an email from Sky River and were informed that the factory can not build the unit to the specks we needed. I had no choice but to cancel the purchase and they refunded our $ 6,0000.00 deposit promptly.
The time and energy invested in researching RVs, prices, options and renting a storage space, are significant. Angel put a good amount of effort into trying to help us buy the RV of our dreams, so I want to be sure and give him the recognition he deserves.

We recently purchased a beautiful Airstream trailer at Sky River in Paso Robles (March 2014). My husband went to torque the lug minutes and the cover cracked. He brought the cracked cover into the part department; the response from the parts guy was, «what do you expect, it is just a trailer!». then he sent my husband on a wild goose chase to find lug nuts for our «just another trailer». He found lug nuts after going to four different locales. I called Eric at Sky River yesterday to report this lousy customer service. But there was no response from him or anyone from Sky River RV Paso Robles. How disappointing! I know many people in the central coast; I will be sure to share our disappointment over the lack of service from this dealer.

After vigorously searching for an RV that best suited our needs, we narrowed it down to a certain model then started our search for the best price. We contacted Mark, went over the options and made the drive from L.A. They did most of the paperwork ahead of time so that when we got there the transaction was seamless and easy. No double talk and no pressure. Mark and Angel were honest, professional and courteous, unlike the vultures that surround you at other dealerships. Totally worth the drive and we’d definitely return. Thumbs up!

Took my wife in to show her an example of a 2013 Thor class C I was going to purchase at another dealer in LA. They had the exact model I was going to drive to LA for, but in 2014 model year. The salesman and the GM matched the price of the other dealers 2013. Great sales staff & no pressure. Easy to work with. Glad we bought local.

After much searching for the perfect truck camper, we had finally found it! We were so excited to do our business locally and start our adventures with our 6 month old son. Unfortunately, due to poor customer service, and things that had been promised and then retracted each time we had gone back, we decided to pass on the deal. Three times this happened! Much more had happened, but I don’t want to write a novel. Good luck if you decide to do business here.

I haven’t had to have my Airstream Interstate serviced yet, but I appreciate the assistance I’ve received from the Parts Department at the Pismo and Buellton shops. Also one of the salesmen in Paso was helpful in answering questions.

This is actually for their Pismo Beach Sky River RV. We bought a new Thor Challenger in May and, like most RVs I think, had a few problems. I was a little concerned that since «we bought it» we might get a little less priority on getting the fixes. The problems were small — a water leak, a propane indication problem and a question on how to work a remote control for the fire place and the shower stall wasn’t seated firmly against the wall.
They were very accommodating for the appointment time. While they were looking at the propane gauge problem they noticed our propane was actually low. The tech was tenacious and found a small leak in the pressure regulator. THEY REPLACED IT ON THE SPOT. No waiting and we didn’t have to make a return trip and it appears to be a better regulator than the factory unit.
After our first trip we noticed that the fresh water tank drained when we drove. On the way into the shop to get the shower stall re-​glued with my wife following me she noticed that water was leaking from the rig. So while it was in for a few days they contacted Thor and found a fix for the problem.
When we got home from that fix the water pump developed a leak. We were a few days from going on a long trip in the RV and I only had one day that I could drive it in. They had a full day of work, but when I explained my time jam they said come on it. One of the service managers did the work personally. He checked the pump and got a new one that appears to be better than the one that came with the rig. I was out in a couple hours — problem fixed.
In three times to the Pismo Beach shop we were always treated with great respect and found the technicians to be very courteous, knowledgeable and competent.
All in all I feel like we received better treatment than I would expect from «really great» service.

We took our 5^th Wheel Cougar to Sky River to sell for us. At home, we stored our 5^th Wheel under cover and kept it clean. Sky River had our 5^th Wheel for a year. It was parked in the direct sun and they left the door open. The 5^th Wheel was faded on the outside and the inside. We started with a price of about $ 20K. By the end of the year they asked us to list it at $ 10K. We took it off their lot and moved it to Scotty’s RV in Atascadero. He sold it for us in about three months for $ 18K. We were very disappointed and we will not be doing any business with Sky River in the future.
We have had great success with Scotty’s RV for selling and purchasing 5^th Wheel trailers.

For all the positive ads posted by Sky River, our experience was less than that. In May, we lost our travel trailer awning to wind gusts on I-​5. Against the recommendation of our insurance agent, we went with Sky River because they were close. It took them two months, even though they assured us it would be done in a couple of weeks at most. This would have taken longer if we hadn’t stayed upon top of them. I personally found that «Jana», the service department receptionist, knew more and helped more than the service manger. We had thought of upgrading our TT to a nicer motorhome through them, but have reconsidered since this poor customer service.

We had the following work done on our Terry 24 ft. trailer about 4 years ago, a new rubber roof, windows resealed, and a new awning… TERRIBLE JOB ON THE WINDOWS AND WHEN INSTALLING NEW AWNING WE HAD DAMAGE DONE TO OUR PRISTINE COATING ON AWNING BRACES,.(Some things we didn’t really notice until later) We have not had a leak since the new rubber roof, so that seems to be ok. We had done the windows ourselves once, which was not a fun job, however, we did a better job than they did. Sealing material was all over outside frames (white against black etc.) and some was on a sheet inside and it never came out (good that I had used it to cover the bed or it would be on that instead. I wish I had Unilocal all those years ago to review, but here I am now for those considering having major repairs done to an RV at Sky River. Hopefully they have improved as $ 5,000 didn’t assure us of quality workmanship back then! I would have given just
one star but the roof seems to be ok)

I took my Roadtrek to Sky River for inspection and repair regarding two problems — one electrical, the other mechanical. They were courteous, competent, and diligent in correctly identifying the problems and replacing the requisite parts. I highly recommend this dealer’s service department.

Visited Sky River to browse, didn’t see what we wanted, but told a sales person named John what we were thinking about. 5^th wheel or motor home. A week or so later he called with something for us. It was great, we test drove it, they replaced some things, worked on the price, and we bought it. The whole experience was low key and pleasant. No pushy stuff. Have had it in for service to get some minor things checked and fixed. Also a pleasant experience, from scheduling through talking with the mechanics. Jana, Bobby, Billy, Stan. Bobby stayed late one night to finish some work & insure everything was complete. I trust them to do future work, and would recommend them to friends.

I give Sky River RV five stars for their courtesy and professionalism. We have had our TT in for several services such as wheel bearing pack, roof seal and even replacing the awning fabric, and they have done the job. In searching for an RV repair center in our area GOOGLE reviews were less than stellar and we were a tad concerned about that. But we decided to look beyond many of those bad reviews and give them a try. We were not disappointed and you won’t be either. Hey, we all have bad days and we don’t always please everyone, but I will say these guys go the mile to try.
