History

Established in 2002.

This practice was established by Dr. Parker in 2002 and taken over by Dr. Azarbal in 2007. Prior to being at Pasadena Dental Aesthetics, Dr. Azarbal practiced dentistry in Playa Del Ray. The location itself has been a dental practice for over 20 years.

Dr. Arash Azarbal completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology (cum laude). He then went on to complete dental school across town at USC. Following dental school Dr. Azarbal completed a general practice residency at New York Veterans Affairs. Since then he has been very active in keeping up with the latest advances in Dentistry. He has completed the UCLA Aesthetic continuum along with multiple continuums at the Eubanks Teaching institute. He is a certified level 2 Invisalign provider and maintains an active membership in the San Gabriel Dental society chapter of the California Dental Association. Dr. Azarbal is an avid runner and occasionally runs the Los Angeles marathon.

I am terrified of dentists. Even writing this is giving me heart palpitations. When my husband finally prevailed upon on me to revisit one, I chose Dr. Azarbal. Now I won’t go anywhere else.
Dr. Azarbal is very kind, very compassionate, and very non-​judgmental about dental fear. I guess he’s seen worse than me lol! The staff is very sweet as well so even though I broke down into tears when I got into the room, I still felt like that was okay.
I’m presuming they did a great job, though to be fair I was too drugged to tell (my choice, they won’t force anything upon you.) In my Valium/​nitrous oxide delirium I kept thinking «what a nice doctor! He’s being so nice to me.» HAHA! My stoic husband goes there as well for lots of work on his Communist-​era teeth and also really likes the doctor.
They might be a tiny bit more expensive than other places, but you more than get what you pay for in terms of quality and service.

I came here because I had a missing filling and needed to get it fixed ASAP! Found this on my dental provider’s website and saw the Unilocal reviews were fairly positive, so I scheduled my first visit not knowing what to expect.
Dr. Azarbal and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. He’s super upbeat, moves fast but makes sure you know what’s happening so you don’t feel lost. Dr. Mansuri was also fantastic and he’s their root canal specialist. And obviously… my missing filling was more than just a filling with that note!
Both are super friendly and great at their jobs. Dr. Mansuri comes in once a week and he called me after my first root canal to make sure everything was ok!
Another note — super high tech office. Xrays show up immediately in front of you and they 3D print your crowns!
I’m glad I found a dentist I like nearby. Would definitely recommend.

Unlike most people, I LOVE GOING TO THE DENTIST. But not just any dentist! I’ve been to many dentists over the years, but Dr. Azarbal is by far the best. I’ve been going to him for almost 8 years now. He knows what he’s doing and he does his best to make his patients feel comfortable. I’ve had both major and minor work done, and all of it has been top-​notch.
I have to give a shout out to Dr. Mansouri, too. Thankfully I’ve only needed his expertise once, but he was also very professional and highly skilled.
Megan is also amazing. She’s been there for years and knows the practice inside and out. If you’re having any trouble deciding which insurance plan to pick, she’ll give you the lowdown on each.
Make that phone call now! Your teeth will thank you for it.

Best dentist I’ve ever had working in my mouth! Found him on Unilocal when I was desperate to save a tooth from permanent damage, after horrible practitioner (Jeanne Devi) almost sent me into root canal zone, on a previously healthy molar (took a year for my pain to subside). I was literally in trauma when I met Dr. Azarbal, and I’ve never before been phobic about dental work! He’s terrific with general procedures~ and utterly BRILLIANT with cosmetic work. I’m very detail oriented regarding mechanics and aesthetics, and this man is very meticulous, responsive and accommodating. He is my Hero! I’m comforted that he’s much younger than I, because I don’t wanna go to anyone else for the duration of my life. PS: I adore his personality, too~ I literally look forward to my dental visits! First off I have to start off by saying I will definitely be back here to do all my dental work in the future. After 7 years hiding from the dentist because of a few bad experiences I decided it’s about time to get work done. From a crown to cavities to a cleaning each thing I did was better than the next. Pain free and most of all the DR made me feel VERY comfortable along with his wonderful assistants and staff
I never knew going to the dentist could be a good time! See you in few months for my cleaning!

I usually had good experience here except for one cleaning visit when I was late (there was misunderstanding on apt time) and they took another person in. They made me wait for an hour. I wish they told me so beforehand when they called me to check how far I was so I could come a bit late and get some work done. No complains with Dr. Arash though !

II actually found this office through 1−800-dentist after having a terrible and horrifying Root Canal done at another office recommended by my family, I’ll never do that again!
The first time I spoke with this office I picked up a very professional vibe. Megan helped me with the booking of all of my appointments beautifully. Dr. Azarbal examined and recommended that I see Specialist Dr. Mansouri. Between all 3 of them and even so the rest of the staff, I must say I was instantly much more at ease with the idea of seeing another dentist!
I had a great consultation with Dr. Mansouri, we exercised ever option before making a final decision on what we were going to do to fix this problem that I had from the previous dentist, an infected tooth /​Root Canal. Dr. Mansouri was very prompt and informative on any and ever question that I had or had not asked. Emense detail and knowledge given with every answer!
We came to the decision of re-​operating on the tooth, a second root canal. I must say I could not be any happier with the fix so far, I am once again able to get back to my physical life, cycling, going to the gym, and hiking. It feels great! The Dr. also kept in touch and checked up on me repeatedly after the operation to make sure everything was well!
I would and do recommend this dental office to anyone in need of any kind of dental work!

I’ve been a patient here for about a year. I came in with a mouth full of problems. We set up a doable treatment plan and a year later, my mouth is in great shape. Not a fan of going to the dentist but this is the first dental office I’ve gone to in 50 years that has an all around great staff. No bad apples. Just nice, friendly, caring people. And Dr. Azarbal is a card with wonderful dental and people skills. He is a perfectionist. They also have an endodontist, Dr. Mansouri. He did a root canal on me that was my 6th or 7th in my lifetime. His skills are unmatched. This was the least painless, yet hardest to get to tooth.
No one likes to go to the dentist but we all need to. Why not go somewhere like this where you’re treated as a person by caring, knowledgeable people.

I feel terrible about this review considering how many great reviews there are on Unilocal and one of the reasons I selected this dental office.
I scheduled an appointment for an Invisalign consult. I arrived on time, filled out my paperwork… and then 40 minutes later took off my bib and left. I can understand that I’m a «new patient» and sometimes new patients can be flaky. There were others scheduled during my visit, which I can understand too. The sweet receptionist mentioned she booked my appoint for an hour… but I’m not sure if that was an hour of his time or mine. In any event, I’ll never know how great he is… and it’s bummer since I can walk to this office from my office around the corner.

I absolutely love this office! Dr. Azarbal and his staff are knowledgeable, patient & kind. He makes his clients feel as comfortable as they can during their treatment. They are very professional and I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a dentist at the moment! You won’t be disappointed. I came in one day to see Dr. Mansouri– an Endodontist (who is also professional and kind), I saw that Dr. Azarbal was in the office on his day off and asked him a question regarding my NTI, he went above and beyond and did me a huge favor by repairing my NTI. To me, that shows dedication and loyalty to his clients! I am sad to leave Dr. Azarbal as I will be moving to another city, I hope I will find someone as great of a dentist as him.

I’d give this practice ten stars if I could. Before finding Dr. Arzabal, I thought that «good dentist» was an oxymoron. Having a mouth full of implants, bridges, crowns, and fillings, my mouth literally illustrates the philosophy that a person’s smile is her best (in my case, most costly) asset. Over the course of fifteen plus years, I poured enough money into mouth to give any Gold Grillz-​flashing hip hop artist a run for his money and experienced enough pain to have delivered fifty children without meds, only to end up with seemingly unresolvable issues. I was in a state of severe dental despondency when I discovered Dr. Arzabal.
Dr. Arzabal runs an exemplar practice! The office staff shows a perfect balance of being professional and personable. Communication throughout the office is clear and up-​to-​date so that all staff members are well-​informed about individual patient’s concerns and needs. Both Dr. Arzabal and Dr. Mansouri are passionate about dentistry and are outstanding teachers – a rare combination. They explained all of my options, fielded my many questions, and did not up-​sell services or harangue me on the poor quality work done on my teeth by previous dentists.
And I didn’t feel any pain through a root canal and bridge replacement! No pain at all!

I am totally totally phobic about getting my teeth worked on. Dr. Azarbal was so amazing — saw me quickly (and I mean really quickly) even though I was a brand new patient and made me feel as comfortable as it was possible to feel for what was (my own fault) going to be an unpleasant procedure. His staff is as nice and competent as he is. Seriously, I won’t go anywhere else, ever again. And even more amazing, despite my deep phobia (and I mean DEEP phobia) Dr. A is a dentist I can actually keep going to see! Couldn’t be more thrilled.

I love Dr. A :) He’s patient with you, which is what sets him apart from other docs. I had to get over 5 grand worth of treatment cause I hated going to the dentist and haven’t gone for over 5 years, and that’s with insurance. But it was all worth it. I was really scared of getting anesthetics because I’ve had bad reactions to it in the past but Dr. A made sure I was comfortable and explained everything that he was doing as he was preparing to do it. I practically lived there for a while since I went there every week but now I have no problems with my teeth and it’s really all thanks to him. He’s a jolly, positive guy who’s serious about making his patients feel comfortable. Even his staff praise him how he is really quick, gentle, and patients are always surprised at how painless the entire procedure is. Just plain awesome.

I started in this office with the previous Doctor sometime in 2003. Dr. Azarbal took over that business & I thought I’ve give him a try since I had no reason to doubt his skills. 10 years later, after regular cleanings, Invisalign, one chipped tooth, and two small cavities I am still a loyal and happy patient.
Dr. Azarbal is a very knowledgeable and always takes time to answer my questions that I come up with though my Google & YouTube education on how to whiten my teeth, or various «good ideas» that I’ve read through the internet.
Let’s face it, once you lose your original teeth, they’re gone forever.
So far, I haven’t done anything stupid because Dr. Azarbal always listens and provides his solid professional advice.

Like others here, it had been awhile since going to the dentist, due to various reasons. I was nervous, but had to go, as in the course of 2 days an old crown came off and I broke another tooth! As I was moving in 2 weeks to the East Coast, I had to get it all done, and fast.
Turns out I needed a root canal and although I was nervous, both Dr. Azarbal and the endodontist were fabulous, figuring out a way to fit me in, telling me about the process the whole time, and keeping me comfortable. No pain, fantastic patient skills, a friendly staff, I only wish I could take them with me on my move to keep my mouth healthy!

We tried a lot of dentists in Pasadena and liked him the best. Dentists are turning into mechanics trying to upsell and make you pay for things you dont need. Azrabal did that the least.
We moved out of Pasadena and have to start our search all over again.

There are many key factors that make Dr. Azrabal an absolute pleasure to work with. The key being communication and knowledge of what is going on with the treatment plan. I used to be afraid of going into the dentist’s office fearing not knowing what is going on. After the initial consultation around December of 2011, Dr. Azrabal won me over with his patience and willingness to explain the procedure (s), and the reasoning behind its necessity.
I’ve always wanted a smile makeover due to severe tetracycline stains when I was younger. Dr. Azrabal and his staff went out of their way to explain that they are not only going to give me the smile makeover I’ve always wanted but to make sure I keep this investment as long as I can by working on the existing problems first. Dr. Azrabal’s willingness to share the knowledge in terms that most people can understand and his patience and willingness to work on patients at different levels of comfort is a definite plus for anyone considering a dentist in the Pasadena area. Make an appointment! You will be pleasantly surprised!!!

This was the best dental experience ever! Being a person that works in the dental industry I look for allot of things in a dental office: professionalism in the staff, cleanliness, and advances in technology, but most importantly what type of dentist he is.
I went in to get some fillings on my front teeth (done by previous dentists) that had fallen out replaced. I just expected it to be temporary bc they fall out every 6 months and all my old dentists would tell me it would be a temp fix and try to talk me into an expensive veneer. Dr. Azarbal took so much time to explain everything to me and told me that they would not fall out if he did them. Its been 2 years and everything still looks great! To top it off it was absolutely painless. He is now correcting the alignment of my teeth, with invisalign.
I found it to be a no BS office and had a great experience.
