Norma Coombs Alternative School

If you would like to send your child to this school there are a few things you should know
1. There is no ceramics class, the principle would like to concentrate more on technology than arts so don’t expect her to encourage art in any way unless it’s to make a power point sheet
2. If you would like to see your child off to class expect to stand out side until 9:00/9:10 am to sing the school song, pledge of allegiance and to get lectured on not putting more money into school fundraisers. 5 days a week. If your late even though they are not in the classrooms and on the yard, your to get a tardy slip
3. There are a few teachers that are all about yelling at the kids, I’ve lucked out and not gotten this teachers but that doesn’t mean that you have a choice in teachers and their methods of teaching
I am writing this so that you have a more realistic view of what to expect from this school, these are subjects that have been brought up during pta meetings and have not been fully resolved. To each his/​her own
The plus side is that all the parents are very nice and watch out for strangers
