New Image did an amazing Job trimming a large tree in our backyard. It was an eye sore every time we went outside. Now, the tree looks great and we will definitely use New Image tree service again in the future. We are very happy with the work. The crew was on time and very professional and John was friendly and responsive to all my questions.

I wanted to have my hillside landscaped and called about eight different landscapers to provide quotes. All eight promised to provide quotes within 24 – 48 hours. Of the eight only two actually sent me the quotes as promised. New Image was one of them.
I appreciated the fact that leading up to my appointment, they called a couple of times to confirm and sent an email. John also called the day of to say he was on his way. What I appreciate most is that I had the quote within 24 hours as promised.

Working with John and New Image was a great experience. John is extremely honest and forthright, and he knows what he’s talking about, both in terms of design and practicality. I always post reviews when reviews are due weather good or bad. In this case I am so satisfied with the work done. The owner John communicates personally with you and is very friendly and personable. He listened to what I wanted and exceeded my expectations in a timely fashion. Every time I had a question they always called me back and had an answer. His workers are professional and fast. Their vision is a amazing and knew exactly what I wanted. I also had a huge tree that needed to be removed and they took care of it. I will defiantly be using them again for future work.

We engaged John and his team at New Image to design and landscape our backyard. From the beginning John was very responsive, coming by to talk in person and always checking in with calls or texts. We were unsure which direction to take so he brought in a landscape architect who was very helpful and helped design something to fit our needs and our budget. We are halfway though the project and John and his team have been great so far and are easy, fun and reliable. John is very communicative in guiding us thorough this process. We would definitely recommend them and use them again for all of our landscaping needs.

John and his team came and cut my pepper tree today. I couldn’t be more happy with the service. He was very responsive through the estimate process and gave me a great price. Today, his guys came at 6:45am (I didn’t even hear them they were so quite) and worked diligently for nearly three hours, taking time to shape the tree so that while very trimmed back, I am sure that it will grow in very nicely. Will definitely use them again!

Owner doesn’t communicate well. I waited around the house to have my dead hedge replaced and removed. I was told they would be at my place before noon, at 12:30 I texted him to ask what’s the new ETA. He replied before 4:00 pm. I felt that he wasted my morning waiting. It would be nice customer service to let the customers know in advance when they are running behind schedule.
Owner does discount for lost time. I would use them again.

Tried New image based off a friends recommendation, The owner John was extremely helpful in recommending ideas and best practices. The work was professional and anytime I had a problem I could call and they would quickly help resolve it for me.

I am a board president at an HOA in Pasadena. I have used a ton of different landcaping and tree service people over the past years. I am blown away with the communication with the owner John. He and his staff perform a great service at a reasonable cost. I took several bids for our complex weekly service as well as tree trimming. His tree trimmers are amazing and you really get your moneys worth with his service! Our trees look amazing. The grounds have improved and john has continued to educate us on plants and trees. We highly recommend this company for all your landscaping and tree trimming needs. We are impressed.

I lived in Pasadena for many years and hired New Image for various landscape projects while I was there. Each and every single time I was impressed with the attention to detail that was demonstrated by the president, John Lampasona. I have never dealt with a company before where the head himself comes out to projects to ensure customer satisfaction as well as quality that is worthy of his company name. And this wasn’t just the case with the first job I hired them for, it happened for all of the ones that proceeded as well. They have truly made me a return customer and I plan on continuing to use their expert services.

We found new image searching Google, trying to find a good company to come landscape and maintenance our yard on a regular basis. Spoke with John and made an appointment for him to come over and look at the property. The next morning he came and gave us his knowledge on what he could make happen (after speaking with John) I knew we had the right company, very knowledgeable about the business ! What really cut the cake is when they pulled up to come start the job, they really impressed us with their fleet of vehicles and all the workers that they had to come do the job (very organized and professional) I can’t express that enough!!! They also completed the job in a short amount of time, really didn’t take long at all and they did everything just the way we agreed on. I’m very pleased and this is why I had to write this review to thank you and the guys for giving our property that new image.

John is easy to work with. He came on time for the appointment and gave the estimate to my project instantly. The crew did a good job and John even dropped by to inspect how his guys did.
I would’ve given him five stars if not for the delay caused by one of their trucks that broke down. The office should’ve called to let me know that they will be 2 hours late because of this. I would’ve understand things beyond their control. Communication is mandatory.

The quality of work and service of John and his team is 5-​stars in my book! They landscaped my front and back lawn and were right on schedule. They are very dependable and accommodating if changes occur and they won’t nickel and dime you like many others would. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

It was time to replace the lawn in front of my century-​old bungalow with a drought tolerant landscape. Working off of a plan from a designer I had briefly worked with previously, John and his crew transformed my yard in about 10 days. I let John choose the plants: a red flax, white-​flowered Westringia fruticosa, yellow lantana and blue ice plant. The colors and textures play off each other extremely well. John installed a curvy dg path from the sidewalk and topped that off with lighting.
I am extraordinarily pleased with the results. I recommend John and New Image to give your yard a new image.

This company is a joke. The only person that was very nice and helpful initially was Amanda who answers the phone and schedules the appointments and that is as far as it goes. John was supposed to be at my house one morning at 10am. Calls and leaves me a message at 730am that morning to reconfirm. I called back and left a voicemail confirming for the 2^nd time in a few days. Then about 15 mins before the appointment I receive a call from Amanda stating that John was going to be 30 minutes late. Hmm first appointment/​meeting of someone and you are already going to be late? Even with that in mind, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and said no problem. I knew I had other appointments lined up right after this. So 30 minutes goes by and still no one shows up, 40 mins, 50 mins and then my next appointment shows up because John was an hour late. I should not have even let them into my property. They pull up in a very small white work truck. Then they start trying to ask me a ton of personal questions regarding what I do for a living, how much my house costs, how much would I sell it for, etc. Then going in trying to brag about all of their rap star clients they supposedly have with $ 30 million dollar properties. Last time I checked they were supposed to be looking over my property. They said they don’t do designs. He didn’t give me any plant ideas whatsoever. All he was trying to do was get me to sign up for his monthly maintenance program while trying to tell me they would take care of the rest of the stuff later. They didn’t take any measurements nor did they count how many plants I would need, NOTHING! But John tells me he has done a ton of large properties that he knows what he is doing and they would email me. RIGHT! Over a week goes by and I finally get an email from Amanda. The only thing in the email was this monthly maintenance contract that they want people to sign for one year?! Are you kidding me? I have never seen these people work. You think I am going to sign a one year contract?! Uh, no! Not to mention they did not include any plant prices, how many I needed, nor any photos with sizes. When I emailed back asking where all of that was they never even responded. They are so unprofessional. What a waste of my time! Oh and they were trashing other companies in front of me including Valley Crest whom I have been using for months now and have been extremely happy with their people and outstanding services (this goes to show you the size of my property as VC doesn’t normally do residential). This company lost a huge ongoing job. Then, I see them displaying their work sign in some dinky yard in Pasadena. Haha! Good riddance!

I don’t doubt the quality of this company’s work (although I’ll never know for sure), but their customer service is a mess. I called to make an appointment and was offered a date about 4 – 5 days later and accepted. I received a call back from the office the next day that said they’d accidentally double booked the appointment and asked to move it — I told them no big deal. A younger guy shows up for the appt, listens to everything I have to say, seems to totally understand what I’m talking about, even making some suggestions for alternatives for some of the plants I wanted. I asked about timeline and he said he would probably have an estimate the next day. One week goes by… I call to check on it. They call back to say the guy that came out felt like it was too big of a job for him to bid out because he’s new to the company. He felt more comfortable with the owner coming out to bid the job in person. They make an appt for John the owner to come the next day. The next day, John does not show up. He calls an hour after he’s supposed to be here and asks if he can come then. I’m busy at that point, so tell him to come the next day. The next day he shows up early while I’m getting another bid from another company and proceeds to yell from across the yard that he feels this job is too small for New Image — I stop what I’m doing… trying to remain calm — «what do you mean it’s too small? how do you even know what I want to be done? I haven’t told you anything yet.» He says — «yeah it’s too small I’m sure of it, and then leaves». The cherry on top — I tried to forget about the whole thing until a week later I get a call from the office saying «hi, Jason, we’re just following up on your work request»…
Okay so you’re hiring incompetent people to do bids, there’s zero communication between the owner and the office, and the owner does not have enough tact to wait to privately speak to me at the actual time of his appointment and at least have the courtesy to listen to the work I’m trying to have completed before deciding «the job is too small» BTW, he guaranteed it would be a sub $ 7k job — 100% not the case.

John is a good man, hard worker. I had the pleasure of working with John on a project and he was always a fast response and very detailed. He also has a great knowledge of drought tolerant landscaping! Give him a call he will come to you draw up a draft and explain it all, give you a list of tolerant plants native to California and make it look great!

John came to look at my backyard project, measured and gave his opinion of how to landscape yard along with my ideas. I was excited about having the job done and he said I would have estimate in one week. I called after a week and he said he was busy and it would be another week. Another week passed and I again called and he said he was so busy and lied and said he never told me when he would give me estimate I asked if job was too small and he said no, but never sent me or delivered an estimate. It was almost a month and he never called nor did I. I had many other estimates and I never waited over a day or so. John was rude and arrogant and I would never ever refer New Image to anyone. He was the worst person I have ever dealt with. Also the company itself never returned my first phone for over 3 weeks. Don’t ever call them.
The above review was intended for another man named John from FormLA. I made a drastic mistake thinking it was New Image. John from New Image was great. He came on the exact appointment time and offered great ideas in landscaping my project. He was very courteous and professional. As promised the estimate was emailed to me the following day. I had to put my project on hold, but New Image will be my first choice when I am ready.

New image has been my go to landscape company for years! I have been in business in the Pasadena area for over 15 years and have referred New image to all of my customers! John is the most knowledgeable guy in the business and works with everyone! They are a must

We had some serious cracks in our churches front entrance concrete that had become a real safety concern. We really wanted this done prior to our Easter service, but it looked like we might run out of time. I had called John for another landscape need, but New Image took the job and came through and I still can’t believe that they finished it, It looks amazing! I can’t wait for people to walk into church on Easter Sunday and be proud of their facilities.

I had an existing landscape plan for my front lawn that I didn’t 100% love, but John was able to work with me to make it into something I liked more. He was also able to meet with me based on my work schedule, which was really helpful, and was always reachable by phone when I had questions.
We ended up needing to create a small retaining wall and he didn’t end up charging me extra for it. His prices were very competitive. Very satisfied!

New Image does the service at my work place and home, I am very happy with there service. Every time I have a issue or a question about anything he helps me out with ideas, and he pretty much take cares if it all. I never have to worry the employees leave the area clean. And make sure my neighbors area are left clean.
I would recommend new image to who ever ask me about landscaping or yard work.

My husband and I hired New Image Landscaping & Tree Service, Inc. to landscape our backyard. We spent weeks getting estimates and contacting various companies. New Image Landscaping was far more responsive and helpful than any of the other companies we contacted. After initially contacting New Image, a free in person estimate was provided the following day. I was impressed when the owner, John Lampasona Jr., showed up himself to do the estimate and explain the process. My husband and I have a toddler and dogs, so we wanted a backyard that was safe and enjoyable for our family while still being easy to maintain and affordable to landscape. Mr. Lampasona offered solutions to our current landscaping needs. As a young family, we operate on a very tight budget. Some of the landscapers I spoke to were condescending and quoted prices that were completely out of our price range. Fortunately, Mr. Lampasona offered solutions and worked within our budget. His whole team was helpful, skilled, and efficient. They showed up on time (6:30 a.m. daily) and did not leave until they were finished. I was shocked at the progress every time I looked out the window. During our project, New Image encountered several unforeseen challenges. Our yard had two gas leaks and no electricity in the garage. Instead of charging us more or making excuses about when the project would be completed, John fixed both problems and did NOT charge us a penny over what he had originally quoted. John’s crew worked diligently for three day straight, creating the most beautiful backyard we could imagine. Instead of having a yard full of weeds, dirt, and thorns… we now have a gorgeous backyard with a perfectly installed irrigation system, fresh grass, side hedges, and most importantly a place that feels like a little sanctuary for our family to enjoy together. We couldn’t be more happy with the amazing work that John and the New Image Landscaping Crew provided. Note: After reading some other reviews, and seeing that many others feel that New Image Landscaping is also superior to the rest, soI want to address the one «negative» review I read. John does have a family, and I’m glad he puts them first. He has his priorities straight. That being said, I believe that because he is a family man he has the ability to help customers in a far more meaningful way. He knows how to recommend landscaping that will be good for all your family members including children. Also, his family does not interfere in anyway with his work ethic. He was still on our site every morning bright and early and answered all of my phone calls immediately, even when I called him in the late evening. I hope if you are considering New Image, you will give this company your business. You will not be disappointed!

I first contacted John and New Image a little after the 2011 windstorm when our oak tree was left in shambles. I had wanted to get our back yard finished and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. We had received 3 or 4 quotes and they were all in the same range and based on quite a few factors we chose New Image.
As we were about to start our job, our dog needed several surgeries which pretty much eliminated our yard budget, so the project went on hold. No hard feelings from John. He let us know that he would still be there when we were ready again and he was. Nearly a year later we went back to John and he honored the original quote. That didn’t matter much though since our idea had changed a lot.
In preparing for the project we needed a permit to remove the decrepit oak tree and John walked us through the process step by step. He even went to the Pasadena Permit Department for us a few times.
John worked with us as we went through numerous design changes and when we finally settled on what we wanted, he and his team carried out the plan flawlessly.
The yard now looks amazing and I am finally going to be proud to host parties in our yard all thanks to John and the crew at New Image Landscaping.
They are a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them for anyones yard. We will definitely be using New Image for our next project!
