My Dog Spot

Just an update: I’ve been using My Dog Spot now for almost 5 months. Lily and her staff continue to take fantastic care of my puppy. They have helped me tremendously with potty training, loose leash walking and in general helping my puppy to be well behaved and sociable. I cannot recommend Lily more highly as a trainer in private sessions. My puppy loves her and she always has helpful tips and is extremely patient.

Just make sure you have surveillance cameras installed to verify that someone will be staying overnight. For Lily to say that the urine & feces were caused by our puppy is laughable. Our 12-​year-​old Labrador had to relieve himself in the house because they were left alone overnight and into the next day.
Also, on the phone after this disastrous incident, Lily told me that Taylor was fired. Evidently not from reading other reviews.

We have been using My Dog Spot for the past four months since we brought home a new puppy and the services have been amazing! My fiancé and I work full-​time, and are not able to take our dog out on regular walks during the business day. My Dog Spot comes twice per day to take our dog on a short walk and provide her with lunch. We are provided with fantastic notes that describe how the walk went and whether or not she went potty on the walk. Taylor has been our main dog walker and she is great! Lily is our main point of contact, and she is amazingly responsive to us and very flexible. On occasion, we have had to add a third visit during day when we would not be home from work until late and have to give them notice the day of. Lily responds immediately to our request and makes the third visit fit their schedule.
We also use My Dog Spot for obedience training. First off, the package is a great price for getting private sessions with Lily. She does a great job showing us how to train our dog and then letting us train her. She provides us with feedback to improve our ability to train our dog and sets us up for success.
We highly recommend My Dog Spot for anyone looking for someone to trust with their dogs!

Katy walks my little baby, Flynn, 3 times a week and on one of the days she puppy-​sits him while I am at school all day. Lily runs and amazing business and hires only the best people to take care of our furry, four legged family members, she is more than accommodating and is easy to connect with. Flynn and I are blessed to have Katy 3 times a week, she is so loving and provides me peace of mind and Flynn company, while I am away.

We started using Lily’s dog walking service this summer for our dogs, and we can’t be any happier. Both of us work, so we needed someone to check in on our two dogs during the day five times a week. We were a little worried since we’ve never had a dog walker. Lily came over to meet the dogs and to learn our routine. Based on our schedule, she recommended two 30-​min walks daily. In the beginning, Lily walked them herself to get to know them and their quirky ways. She noticed that our naughty one-​year old Bonnie was still pulling a lot on the leash and being reactive to other dogs, so she tried a variety of different harnesses as well as clicker training. What a deal, dog walking plus dog training in one! Once Bonnie got better, Lily turned the dogs over to her walkers, but she did this only after she felt she knew our dogs really well and felt that the dogs were ready. Even so, once in a while she still drops in to make sure the walks are going OK. Like the other day, when Bonnie needed remedial clicker training for her walks.
One of the best things about the service is the email updates from Lily and her walkers. After each walk, we get a report of a start and end time, a GPS map of where they actually went, and a short message about how the dogs did – sniffing, saying hello to a mailman, chasing lizards, etc etc. Sometimes even a photo! It really makes you feel as if you were on the walk with them.
We highly recommend Lily because she is dependable and so responsive – to texts and email. She keeps a close eye on her walkers and our dogs. We love it that we don’t have to worry about our furry babies when we are at work.

My Dog Spot has been taking care of our dog for almost 4 years now, from when he was still a puppy, and many times they had to act fast in hairy — no pun intended — situations to provide care and attention that no other dog walker would ever think about giving our dog. My Dog Spot team is always very anticipatory and attentive to our dog’s needs. We feel at ease every time our regular dog walker comes around and we can rest assured that should anything out of the ordinary happen, Lily and her team will be there to really care for our dog. Unlike other services, they really do listen to their dogs’ owners and follow their instructions perfectly, which is very rare.

My Dog Spot is amazing!!! We recently got a puppy as an addition to our family and Taylor and Lily have taken such good care of her on walks and she has learned so much from them and is a great walker now with not many distractions!!!

I left my Jack Russell, Petey for 2 weeks while I was out of the country. Jack Russell’s are a high energy breed and I was concerned for Lily who runs My Dog Spot. They bonded immediately and Lily kept me posted with pictures and updates while I was away. I recommend My Dog Spot and Lily to anyone. She is reliable, caring and I would not hesitate to choose them. Petey was better behaved when I picked him up! Great resource!

My husband and I recently completed Lily’s six-​week «Foundation Course» in obedience training with our puppy, now 16 weeks old. We enthusiastically recommend Lily and My Dog Spot for all your dog training needs!
When we brought our clever and spirited GSD/​mix puppy home at 9 weeks of age, it was already clear that he would need a solid foundation in training right away to stimulate him and harness his puppy energy! After working with Lily’s holistic program in positive reinforcement (clicker) training, our puppy now knows to focus when he hears his name, and understands essential cues such as sit, down, stay, target/​touch, leave it/​take it, and more. He is even working on some intermediate skills such as loose leash walking and recall already. Lily’s program is very well-​researched and structured, but she also demonstrated the flexibility and experience to assess our puppy on the fly in sessions and customized his training accordingly to play to his strength and skills, or address his undesirable behaviors as needed. She even helped us design a plan to integrate our puppy with our two resident cats. I am confident that our puppy will continue to grow up to be a well-​balanced member of our family, thanks to Lily!
Not only does Lily have a special gift with those of the canine persuasion, she is a highly skilled and empathetic communicator across the board. Her informed advice on a variety of dog-​related topics is always prompt, thoughtful, and actionable. Her balanced perspective offers welcome reassurance and counterpoint to the extreme and often alarming points of view that can be readily found online, or even at your vet’s office. We have learned so much along with our puppy, which I believe will be the key to his future success because it means that we will continue to learn and grow together. After working with Lily, I have a much stronger understanding of my dogs skills and behaviors, and how he communicates. This in turn helps me to shape my own attitude, communication patterns, and expectations in such a way to help set my puppy up for optimal success.
My Dog Spot offers comprehensive services at very reasonable and competitive prices. In my book, the fact that they offer private training sessions in-​home really gives them an edge when it comes to training a puppy, because it means you can safely begin training and socializing during the important developmental window that occurs between 3 – 12 weeks of age, often before your puppy’s first vaccination schedule is completed.

My dog spot is the best pet sitter I have ever had Lily the owner and her staff are amazing with animals. Lily is truly a very sweet woman she takes extremely good care of my animals. One of the things that I love is that she gives you updates every time that the dog has been walked they also have an app that tells you exactly where your dog has been walked and how long and she even emails you pictures showing you how your pets are doing her communication is amazing I highly recommend my dog spot pet care!

Lily is great! With just one consultation my dog’s and my needs were met. it was amazing that she could turn my dog’s behavior around so quickly. She treated both my dog and me with such respect. She was so kind, so professional, so generous and SO helpful. I will call her at any time for more help if I need it.

I knew Lily from My Dog Spot was a good fit for my dog situation just from her response to my Thumbtack post. She was the only respondent that specifically addressed the issues I was having with my two dogs and she had a plan.
I have two small dogs that I adopted at the same time from a shelter and one of the dogs has started to show aggression in the from of nipping at people’s clothes.
Lily explained that both dogs have anxiety and they show it in different ways. She has been teaching me how to recognize their needs and how to address them.
Within two visits I could already see improvement. We have now met 9 times (in a little more than two weeks) and my two dogs have significantly less anxiety. They have been doing better on walks when we encounter other people and other pets. They are also responding more calmly when people come to the door.
I also like the structure of our sessions together. We do a little bit of training and take a walk. We have 30 minute sessions, and it’s a good amount of time. The dogs are tired after the session and take a long nap.
And Lily is well prepared. She has brought extra leashes and harnesses and a variety of treats, she brings research. She has also adapted techniques and treats to keep the dogs responding well.
I especially appreciate that she comes to our home. She sees the things that make the dogs nervous and can address them as they happen.

Very happy with our experience.
We have cats. But one cat likes to eat the other cat’s food so we need a more advanced plan of attack for feeding evenly. Not as simple a daily pour of food, pat a couple of heads and bolt.
Lily came over before our trip (about a week), took notes, met the cats, got a feel for the routine. Went well and the cats took to her quickly.
While we were away, we got daily photos/​videos (initially I said she didn’t need to, as prior sitters didn’t and it was fine, but we my wife and I grew to appreciate them — now we are spoiled!). One cat got sick on our bed (which she does once in a while) and Lily was kind enough to clean up the worst of the mess and even offered to put the linens in the wash. Very cool but unnecessary.
Overall, a great experience at a very reasonable price. We would recommend the company to anyone!

My Dog Spot is the best. Lily is caring, knowledgeable, and always professional. She has walked my two girls for a couple of years now. She takes such good care of my senior girl, who is fourteen. My little one is always in turbo speed and Lily has found a way to walk both girls at the same time while seeing that each of their needs are met.
I never worry about my dogs when I’m at work, because I know that Lily will be there for them. She uses a great app that let’s you see where they have walked and for how long. It’s cool and reassuring.
I have also boarded my girls with Lily and was able to enjoy my vacation without a worry. She knows so much about dogs and my two girls just love her. Like I said, she is thoughtful and extremely professional just what you need in the ideal dog caretaker.

Lily provides provides an extremely professional service, while proving warm and compassionate care for our loved ones. We feel reassured and confident (along with less guilt) that our loved ones are in excellent care.
Lily is technically connected, with automatic updates on where she is lead on walks.
Lily is also a wealth of info on pet resources, if needed.
