Terrible office staffs, hold for at least 30 minutes every time I called. The manager Patricia is rude and never return calls. Go there if u have times to wastes

Well, my first impression of this office is disappointing because they state that they open at 9, but it’s 9:20 and when I call the phone still takes you to the message saying they are closed.
It’s the little things, guys! Punctuality.
Front desk makes or breaks a doctor’s office.

Went with friend’s daughter for urgent symptoms. Very positive experience. Dr. Tam took his time talking with us and explained treatment plans.

Only been to his pasadena office 2x and both times have had no problems. Only once he was rushed but was being called in to hospital which is understandable and the other time he took his time and came back to see if I had additional questions. I’ve always been able to contact the staff and answer my questions in a timely manner.

There isn’t much that’s nice that I can say. They are impossible to reach by phone and don’t return messages, even when it’s a fairly urgent prescription issue, the waiting room and exam rooms are crowded, shabby and rundown and too small. The doctor is very rushed and doesn’t explain much. Although he’s almost the only GYN on my health plan in my area, I won’t be going back. I’ll travel farther to find someone else.

After reading all his reviews online and visiting him a few times, our perspective of Dr Tam is that he is knowledgable and experienced but crams in as many visits as possible. He’s constantly running from room to room and not answering any questions or giving expecting couples any time. We feel that his purpose is to maximize the number of visits as possible, not to provide new families a good experience of childhood.
His office is nice and clean and the nurses are all helpful and nice.
During my fiancé’s first visits, he would not answer any questions. He would tell her to consult with the nurses.
Another negative review is that he recommends expensive supplements and probiotics at his front desk. He specifically told us to buy expensive stuff, no cheap stuff. We found the same stuff on Amazon or other stores for less $$$.
Another negative is that Dr Tam would not return ANY emergency calls or questions. My fiancé ended up with a UTI infection one weekend and I took her to the ER. We ended up at Queen of the Valley in West Covina and they did quite a few procedures on her and I left a message for Dr Tam that midnight. Still, no response from him. That night, we realized he wasn’t a good doctor for us.
We switched doctors because it just didn’t work for us with Dr Tam and our current doctors knows about Dr Tam’s reputation. Our new doctor also mentioned that Dr Tam DOES try to sell you expensive items at his front desk. I guess other doctors know about it too.
Conclusion:
If you are a couple who really don’t care about your pregnancy and just want someone to just handle everything without question, then Dr Tam IS for you. If you are a couple that wants to be involved with the pregnancy, know every step of the process, and curious about how your child is developing then Dr Tam is NOT for you.
We are the latter, and that’s why we left for another doctor who now is much more helpful and there for us. Fortunately the new Dr knows about doctors like Dr Tam.
BTW, the second review on here is completely misleading. Dr Tam is a man, not a woman. Gaby M. should remove her false review.
