This is the best Mercedes shop in the area. Been going here for 5 years with our 76 ’ 300 D and hope to bring in my wife’s 2008 C300 for future needs. Quality is everything.

I own a 1997 E320 that had a peculiar leak in the engine bay under the master cylinder that was previously diagnosed by my 4.5 star mechanic as an unfixable power steering problem. Uncertainty with weather or lottery numbers is fine, but driving in Southern California with a mysteriously leaking car is not. It was a bit of a hump to get to Import Auto Works for me, but I wanted my car fixed and thought this a fine opportunity to see if Jerry and Jose and the staff at IAW were able to do what my «guy» could not. After examining the car for an hour or so, Jo called to let me know powering steering had nothing to do with my problem. It was a rotting cooler hose by the firewall. It was fixed immediately (sub-​$ 6 part) and caused me no further difficulty.
Jo said they would look over the car while I was on my way to pick it up and let me know if there was anything else going on. They did and there was. I’ve been to many mechanic shops that I call «break and fix» spots. Something breaks and then you pay $$$ to have it fixed. But Jo and Jerry focused their attention on prioritizing prevention. They walked me through the six or seven things they found, and advised which problems were immediate and which were eventual. There was no upsell, no hurry, nothing other than a good natured effort to advise me about the state of my car.
They were 100% correct in their assessment. Jerry told me the water pump was going sooner, rather than later and four weeks post-​inspection was on its last legs. Although the E320 had been our daily driver, it has 206,000 miles on it and I wanted to invest in something newer. Jo welcomed anything I considered buying by for a pre-​purchase inspection. They would go over it for no charge (ie free) to make sure I was acquiring something of quality.
The first car I took over looked great, but after the inspection, I realized the repair bill would be equal to the purchase price and unacceptable. They were able to lift and examine the car and show me where it bottomed-​out, was hit and previously repaired, where the service interval was reset without doing the requisite service work, etc. They gave me a fair «what I should pay for the car» figure I then presented to the seller. He declined. So be it. Win for me. I continued looking.
The second car I brought in had fewer problems. IAW gave me specific parameters on what I should be looking for. 2000 – 2003 in the model category, clean or limited damage, and away from obvious integral areas. This car fit. Low miles, limited damage, half the price of the first car with 54,000 less miles. They gave me the thumbs up, minus a few maintenance lapses, but easily and affordably fixable. I bought the car and did everything they advised to insure its roadworthiness.
I realized a few things through the process that were invaluable. 1. Import Auto Works is outstanding. The quality of their experience, guidance, information, workmanship is unparalleled. 2. Buy the Mercedes-​Benz brand for a reason. It’s an excellent automobile. The best I’ve ever owned. But owning/​maintaining/​servicing one is not cheap. IAW worked with me through the entire process, however, and gave me options to fit my budget.
Thank you, Import Auto Works. You are profoundly proficient, graciously accommodating, and commendable craftsmen. I look forward to having you keep the New Bess up and running for as long as she sees fit.

I have a 1981 — 300D and for a while, I was having trouble with my vacuum door locks. The passenger side and rear door locks were not unlocking. My passengers would have to stand and wait outside until I started up the engine and let it run a bit; and wa-​lah, then the locks would unlock It was a pain especially if the weather was cold or wet outside, or it late in the evening.
Jerry was able to figure out the actual source of the problem and my locks have been problem free since.

I love Jerry and his team! They are always super friendly and helpful. I don’t know much about cars so I usually just go get my car serviced when my husband tells me to or when there is an angry light on my dash. But Jerry and his staff are always able to help me understand what the lights mean and what the whatchamacallits do.
The new location is so much nicer than the old one and is able to accommodate more cars, so walk-​ins are possible! Plus for my foodie friends, there are more eateries near by, so you can grab a bite to eat while you wait (or they can drop you off at Paseo Colorado for some shopping).

I’ve been going to Jerry and his crew for over 5 years at he previous location. He’s always been honest about all repairs needed and the cost.
He’s one of the best Mercedes mechanics around, always gets the job done.
It’s always best to make an appointment, but he’s taken my car on short notice.
I’m glad they have a bigger place, looks great. I’ll see you guys soon, my services are due.

I just purchased a 2011 Mercedes ML350 and wanted to have it checked out. I did not have a current repair person and did not want to take it to the dealer. I was referred by a co-​worker to take my car here because I have been burned in the past by several other auto repair shops. When I called and talked to Jo, I felt like I have been knowing her for years. Her and her husband Jerry are very warm and professional people. The minute I walked in I knew I would not go anywhere else. They checked my car out free of charge and gave me a thumbs up. The only thing I needed was tires and they explained some of the features of my car. I will definitely bring my car when it is time to have it serviced. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy Mercedez Benz repair shop.

As good as it gets, I have two older mercedes, a 1978 450SL (I’m the original owner) and a 1984 500 SEC that I bought from a client of Jerry about 5 years ago. He keeps both cars running and when my 450 had a problem with the vacume system he was the ONLY mechanic that had the experience to fix it. The service is very good and his mechanics also work wonders. Their prices are fair and even the office staff is friendly and helpful.
Its worth the trip to Pasadena from Sherman Oaks, to have a shop that is reasonably priced, does great work, is clean and comfortable.
I would not hesitate to get another older meredes as long as I have Jerry and his shop to take care of it. and I’ve recommended friends to him.
