Flour+Tea

My roommate and I made the quick stop to try out this place on a sunny afternoon for some iced teas. Flour+Tea is located right outside the crowded streets on Old Town and adjacent to the many of Pasadena’s trendy and quiet apartment complexes. The layout here is modern and clean, which makes for a great workplace or just to unwind. There is ample metered street parking as well as neighborhood street parking a block away for free.
I ordered the black sugar milk tea and although I wasn’t able to distinguish the difference from a brown sugar milk tea, I still enjoyed the slightly sweet and nutty flavor of my drink. My roommate ordered an ice tea and noted for refreshing the flavor was, without being overly sweet. Flour+Tea also has an extensive selection of teas to choose from and I plan to come back to try them out since the owners have invested a lot of effort to highlight the differences in each type of tea.
Make sure to grab a pastry with your drink! There is a small but diverse options to choose from and I opted for the mochi. It. Was. Bangin’. The characteristic mochi flavor and texture was present but it was baked within another rice flour based flake pastry that added a wonderful texture contrast the the chewy treat. One pack included a red bean, green tea, and taro mochi.
The staff was helpful in selecting what I wanted to drink/​eat and it was obvious that they took pride in the product they were selling. Flour+Tea is a must stop for coffee/​tea drinks looking a sample more quality options.

Came here early Sunday morning ~9:30am and grabbed their pistachio and almond milk tea. Also picked up the taro almond bread and coconut Nutella pastries and a pistachio and blueberry lavender macarons. The pastries were warmed up for us so they were pretty good. The pistachio milk tea was super awesome though, my gf loved it. It wasn’t too busy and they offered quite a variety of items. They have an afternoon tea special on Mondays-​Thursday 1−4pm (1 small shaken tea + 1 cake slice or 2 clouds=$ 6.95).

I came to this location on a Sunday afternoon to study with my girlfriend. They have a large variety of teas and pastries, but I tried the almond milk tea with boba. It is a pleasant study environment and I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were more power outlets and study space.
The staff here is friendly and somewhat helpful. They have free wifi that is capable of completing all your online tasks. The code for the wifi is on the receipt, if you did not receive one the staff will gladly tell you the password.
My favorite part about this establishment is the proximity to the metro station. If you’re fond of public transportation I highly recommend that you utilize it when making a trip to this place. If you would rather drive down, there is a parking garage with 30 minute and 2 hour parking. However, this is not ideal if you plan to study for longer periods of time.
If you’re looking for a new place to study or if you’re a huge fan of tea, then this is the place for you.

The girlfriend says this is her go to spot so when we were in the area yesterday, I complied. For me this is a great place to come to to catch up with a friend or for a special occasion. For my daily grind or daily tea fix I would personally go elsewhere, just because they can be kind of pricey on their drinks.
But at least you know that for the money you pay you will be getting some tasty teas in return. I recommend any of the shaken teas they serve and the fruit blends they offer. They also have some pastry items which I have heard are pretty good.
The facility is nice and everything is clean and well kept. It’s a perfect place to get some homework done too if you’re in the area. Lastly, there is free 90 minute parking in the parking lot across the street. 90 min is perfect, short enough to make a quick getaway but long enough to have a conversation with someone and get your points across, at least for me.

This place is tucked on a Main Street in Pasadena but parking was such a pain!!! My sibling and I drove through the parking structure which is also an apartment parking complex and there was like 5 parking spaces for flour+tea! We parked on the street and walked there instead.
Upon walking in, it was nice, quiet, and really clean. I imagine lots of people coming here to socialize on the weekends or doing homework on the weekdays. They have an assortment of teas places around the shop for you to smell before buying as well.
I got the coffee milk tea and my sibling got the regular milk tea and we were both not too impressed with it. The drinks were just okay– we both agreed that it was way to milky for our taste and not enough coffee or tea. If you’re in the mood for a more milky taste, this would be a good choice.
All in all, next time we come here, we will be trying the teas instead of milk teas.

I came here after my haircut at Studio K. The staff was very friendly and offered me a sample of one of their April specials: Firefly. It’s passion fruit and white peach green tea. I ordered that right away. It was so refreshing especially on a hot day. Ordered a regular green milk tea for my brother and a nutella me cake (get 10% off with Unilocal check in on cakes!) Total came out to be around $ 13.
The store itself is chill and is a great place to study or just to hang out with friends and chat. The quality of the teas is good. I liked my Firefly drink a lot, but the price was a little steep in my opinion. My cake was okay too — not sure if I would order it again.
Parking on the street is limited, but you can park at the Metro parking lot across the street for first 90 mins free.
I will be back here again for their drinks and maybe try their famous Mochi next time.

Had the pleasure of walking in with a group of girls who took their time to decide what to order. Was not _​with_​them, just walked in with them coincidentally so for me there was a line while waiting for them to decide on their order. Why the wait? The menu had a dizzying number of options for liquid flavors, sizes, and particle options and they decided to keep everyone waiting while deciding.
There were some asian bakery goods available near the door. I tried the red bun, it was made with a pretty swirly pattern. I ordered a kumquat tea, plain with half sweetness. It was nice that they offered the options though the clerk mumbling the options was not as easily understood as say options written down somewhere that I could point to that overcome language barriers. In the end I liked what I ordered, just took a bit of clarification to figure out what options meant.
Guess it was a popular Saturday afternoon, there was only one seat available and the rest filled with folks lounging with either their book, mobile device, or laptop. I did not see that the wifi was free/​open access. Good security measure, however the staff that Saturday afternoon were not so friendly and unavailable for me to ask for assistance. A tad disappointing that they chatted in a corner amongst themselves or disappeared to the back, but I’ll admit bias from spending more time in another city that has a different culture.
This place is a block from the Del Mar station, so a nice rest stop to grab a cool beverage. Other reviews indicated that I would’ve been able to check email with their wifi w/​o much effort but luckily it wasn’t an urgent need to access wifi and thus didn’t consider an issue. It’s probably best to expect some level of self-​service here.

—mango froztea: i was expecting a tea slushy but this one is more like a fruit smoothie! very yummy but also super filling, not what i expected
—black sugar tea with coffee crystals: not bad, more for the sweet tooths

Staff is very nice. I came here while waiting for la grande orange. Perfect spot to keep coming.
I got the shamrock it was their weekly special or monthly I don’t remember. My friend got hazelnut latte !

I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday afternoon for some boba after lunch. This place is really cute and is a nice quiet little bakery café that you can work at.
It reminds me of a mini 85 because they sell breads and boba but also tea leaves as well. The décor is nice and is really open. The shop itself is pretty small but you don’t feel claustrophobic in the space.
I got a hot dog bun from the bakery which was pretty good and a peach green tea with boba that was pretty good as well.
Probably not out of your way amazing to go to but if you’re in the area or looking for a quiet spot to get some work or study in, this place is awesome.

Small place but it conveniently has its own parking structure. When we got there, around 9:30a, a lot of their pastries weren’t out yet.
SERIVCE: Excellent.
DRINK: Iced honey green tea. I’m guessing the green tea was jasmine because it had a strong perfumey taste. I’m not keen on jasmine tea so I didn’t like it.
CAKES: We got the Salted Caramel, Red Velvet, Strawberry and Chocolate Oreo. The cakes are light and not too sweet. Typical of cakes offered in Asian bakeries. The salted caramel had a denser texture. I liked all the cakes we tried, but the strawberry one was my favorite.

This boba joint exceeded my expectations. I have been here twice with some friends. It’s a very small shop with a few tables and some bar seats. The parking is either street or a parking garage with very LIMITED parking spots. Either way, I have never had problems finishing parking.
The menu has a wide variety. My favorite is the almond black milk tea with boba. The drink is very good! It is not filled with sweet syrup or powder like most other boba places. The drink has a strong tea flavor. The boba is soft and chewy. They also sell loose leaf tea and tea pot gadgets. Also, they sell bakery items but their bread is a little oh the high end of the price scale.

Even though I live many mountains away, I still come here to meet up with my friend for study sessions since it’s still between where we live.
Service is always so friendly :) The drinks are good and the bread is yummy too. I like their green tea latte. They also have very good hours for students like me with wi-​fi that works and a few outlets. I love their wooden log bench table and always try to sit there when it isn’t taken by others. The bathroom is also very clean which is a major plus. Did I mention there’s parking in the rear too?! I really like the music here as well. It just makes me feel so happy after stressful workdays or schooldays. I’m a total fan!

It’s a nice local boutique if you like Asian pastries and tea, where you can sit in to snack or take it to go.
The service is nice and selection of teas is good, as with the deserts, buns and so forth being nice snacks.

Finally made it here! Had their Mochi cake awhile back and every time I drove by, I told myself I had to stop in. Had an hour to kill tonite waiting around town. With free wifi, good opportunity to catch up on my Unilocal reviews ^_^
At around 7pm, I had no problem getting a parking spot in the garage in the back. Danica welcomed me cheerfully and gave me some suggestions for tea. Love the loose tea selections! I was thinking of getting one of their milks teas but I love loose teas. I usually go with Lavender teas, my go-​to for anything be it body lotion, hand cream, linen spray, etc. But after smelling the fragrant sweetness of the Sweet Marigold, and Danica told me it also is a nice after dinner tea that helps digestion, I chose a cuppa Sweet Marigold.
Lots of choices for a treat although they were out of Mochi cakes tonight. There were a few pastries left on the shelf but nothing I wanted. Something light like a macaron or the super fluffy light slice of cake? Mmm… so many flavors! The strawberry cake is always a favorite but I was drawn to the Macha Green Tea! Just the perfect bite, super light and paired beautifully with my Sweet Marigold. Happy tummy!

Love this place! It’s small, but so cute inside. Really light and clean. Their drinks are delicious (their shamrock tea is the best) and they have flavors aloevera gels and boba. My favorite part about this place are their pastries. So fresh and flavorful. Their coconut Nutella bread is so addicting! I love their mini mocha buns (the pumpkin one is so good).
Starting at 1pm (not sure when it ends, maybe 4−5pm) they have buy 1 drink and get a slice of cake — which is so good – for a lesser price. Worth checking out! There are some spots in the garage underneath as well.

A very cool, out-​of-​the-​way tea and boba joint that could be a good escape place from the hustle and bustle of Old Town.
I’ve been here twice just to kill time on a Sunday afternoon since the atmosphere is great and there’s a bunch of yummy drinks and desserts to take partake in. Plus there’s no code for the bathroom, thank god! There’s a nice community bench inside with a few bar chairs along the open windows. It feels really open and welcoming here.
I’ve tried the Shaken Almond Milk Tea and Lychee Chamomile and both were really good. Nothing AMAZING but still good quality. I am a definite fan of their mochi pastries. The Nutella Mini Mochi is my favorite. They are pretty light and fluffy and with the mochi and filling, it’s a delectable combination indeed!
I look forward to coming back to enjoy more drinks and cake!

Flour + Tea is one of my go to spots for a couple of years now.
Found them on Unilocal and dragged my husband with me on my first visit. Since then i have been hooked and crave their delicious assortments of teas and baked goods.
Parking situation– is a nightmare… at least for me!
There is a garage located on the side that holds max 10 cars? If you are lucky and find a spot (2 claps) if not, good luck. :|
Price– Average, depending on the size of your drink and any extra add ons. You are looking at $ 5-​$ 6 a drink.
Cakes are moist and delicious!
I love their macaroon flavors!
The baked goods are… Ehh (nothing fancy)
Service– is ok. Depending on the employee!

On par with core 626 action for boba/​tea drinks and the staff speaks English. Interesting location as it’s anchored under apartments. The walkable factor is pretty good given its proximity to Colorado Blvd and nearby hotels. I tried the honey green tea with grass jelly at 50% sugar. I also like the three size option, small to jumbo, so I got the jumbo. The green tea had a nice brew flavor and the grass jelly had a refreshing herbal taste. The honey helped bring the drink to a nice balanced tea experience. I also had a few sips of the milk tea with boba and the boba pearls were very good — sweet, chewy, and hints of caramel.
Décor inside is a bit upscale, but seating is somewhat limited. Staff was nice and helpful. You can also purchase loose leaf tea. They server «flour» too via assortments of bread, cake, and macaroons. Overall — recommend!
