Expressive Connections

This review is for my child’s speech therapist, Tiffany H. Her work with my son has changed his life. I highly recommend Tiffany H as a speech therapist.

First of all, if I could rate Marcy the receptionist on her own I would give her 5 stars. She is wonderful. So professional, courteous, helpful, and knowledgable. She made navigating regional center and private insurance so easy. Truly fantastic.
Unfortunately, our experience with therapist Tiffany left such a bad taste in my mouth, I am still angry months later. Expressive Connections is a regional center vendor. Therefore I am sure there are several other children, like my child, who are on the autism spectrum and have speech delays who are sent here. Given that, I would assume that all therapists are trained and willing to work with 2 year old children on the spectrum. Not always the easiest task, I know, but it comes with the territory.
Another Unilocal review mentioned that Tiffany can be «gloomy or snarky.» Couldn’t agree more. If you have no patience for children with these issues, maybe you’re in the wrong field. To tell a 2 year old with developmental delays «don’t start with me» or «what is your problem» is not exactly professional. But I let it all slide because I wanted to focus on the therapy. The final straw for me? When my child turned 3 and was moving from regional center to the school district, Tiffany refused to call the school’s speech therapist back to discuss my child. The school therapist said she had never in all her years encountered another therapist who simply would not cooperate. Nice.
I am happy to report that under the gentle and supportive care of a new speech therapist, my child has completely caught up to peers and speech is now age appropriate and no longer a concern.
To sum up — thanks Marcy for everything. Otherwise, what a poor experience we had with Tiffany and Expressive Connections.

My son Gabriel is 2 years old and he has been going to Expressive Connections for 5 months. They are great with him and he has so much fun when he gets their. Also they are very friendly when you are their. My son has been approving his speech since he has been going here. I am so glad that Regional Center referred me to them.

Marcy, the front desk/​office manager is kind, organized and thoughtful. She is a gem. The first speech therapist my child saw there was not quite adequate — she was too tentative. We stopped seeing this person and started seeing Tiffany instead.
The director Tiffany, is a therapist too. She can be enthusiastic and great. However she is more often gloomy or snarky. I will say that she is EXTREMELY effective. Now that my child has seen four SLP’s from three companies, I really appreciate her detailed attention to continual improvement.

I was referred to Expressive Connections through the Regional Center AND I was so happy with our therapist Ananda. She only worked with my daughter for about 4 months but l can say it was a lot of help for my daughter. She did sing language with her and many other words. So THANK YOU Ananda from MIA

My son has been going to expressive connections for speech therapy since 5 months ago. When we started the therapy, he used to speak only a few words; now, after 5 months he has got a tremendous improvement in terms of numbers of words that he uses and communication skills. Tiffany is a smart and capable therapist who worked with my son from the very beginning; she is very expert and knowledgable and pays attention to details.
Marcy is the receptionist; a very nice person and always welcoming. Marcy mange the scheduling very well. Michelle, the owner is very kind and supportive; she always helps us for the information we need in the best way she can.
My son, my husband and I are very thankful to all the expressive connections team that provided us with the best service of speech therapy.

This place has been so helpful to my son. Tiffany and the whole staff are really amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I feel so lucky to have found expressive connection. My son has improved so much with the help of his therapist Tiffany. Tiffany is just awesome — very professional, sharp, yet friendly with smiles every time we come. I don’t know much about speech therapy, but I could tell she is good from day one. The office manager is also very efficient and kind. The office atmosphere is clean and quiet with soft classical music. I have to say i look forward to my 50 min break while my son is learning and having fun.

We have been bringing our son here to see speech therapist Kim. He was referred to speech therapy after being diagnosed with speech delay at 24 months. He has come such a long way!!! We love how attentive Kim has been with him, you can tell she loves her job! Marcy makes sure the office runs smooth, she is very professional and helpful. I’m so glad we got referred to expressive connections. It has made a Big difference in our sons life and ours! His communicaiton skills have evolved tremendously! My son has been seeing Emily for over a year. She has made huge strides with him. He loves going to see her. We have been to many many speech therapists in Pasadena and this is by far the best. Would highly recommend to anyone.

My son has been a client at Expressive Connections since September 2009. I have nothing but praise for the staff and services. Emily, my son’s speech therapist, has done excellent work. My son tends to be wary of new people and new situations, and Emily has developed a wonderful working relationship with him. She is very sensitive, kind, gentle, and caring. She is highly professional, respectful, and her interventions have resulted in enormous progress. We see progress after every session with Emily. His vocabulary, expressive and receptive language, and communication skills improve every week.
Marcy, the receptionist, has been fantastic in helping us deal with insurance issues and reports. She returns phone calls right away and is friendly and always ready to help. When you walk into the office, you are greeted warmly. You immediately feel comfortable and welcomed. The waiting room is beautifully decorated with framed children’s art on the walls. There are plenty of toys in the waiting room for the kids.
Michelle, the owner, is a great resource. She has been available to answer questions, offer recommendations, and provide additional referrals. She always has a warm smile on her face and clearly cares about kids and their families.
My husband and I feel very fortunate to have found Expressive Connections. Our son has thrived there and we are thrilled to see how far he has come. As a client you are made to feel like family, but you can also be confident that your child is receiving high-​quality services. Highly recommended!
