History

Established in 2009.

It started off as a dream really. I wanted to open my own BMW repair facility to be a One Stop Shop for all BMW repairs and needs. I started off doing small side jobs while renting a space in another repair shop. It turned into what it is today, DTM Auto Salon. A small Mom and Pop Shop, in Pasadena, with low overhead, which allows me to provide lower prices to all of my customers. I strive to give the customer excellent service at a working man’s price. Came here earlier to get a repair on my electric seat, which had the infamous seat twist. I scheduled my appointment, came in, got the car assessed, and pretty much had a smooth business transaction. The guys here at DTM are honest, and trustworthy. The price was very reasonable and I will definitely be back for the second seat to be repaired, along with anything else I might need to do. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to my bimmer friends who are in need of an honest shop with awesome people. You rock DTM, now I can drive comfortably !

After my 2007 328i sport wagon went out of warranty my husband insisted I sell it. I didn’t! Instead, I found DTM they’ve helped keep her on the rode for the last 3 – 4 years. I like the ride and comfort of my inline 6 engine. The guys always explain the repairs in detail. They all great, friendly & it’s a cool garage. Thanks Erik, Eddie, & Dan!

Eddie, Erik and the gang are great guys. Why take your car to the dealer when we have a dedicated Indy shop like this? I am an enthusiast and quite detail oriented when it comes to my cars and DTM took care of my M5 this week. She drives great now with the upgrades and the maintenance performed. Thanks DTM

Took my Mini Cooper to the guys at DTM to look at a check engine light, fix some small issues and get the oil changed. I was able to get an appointment when I wanted it and they had my car done the same day. To make things better, I got out for $ 150 which is simply impossible at a dealer — it would be like the Sun circling the Earth. The guys who helped me, Eddie and Eric, were informative about my car and told me some basic things about maintaining the car that no one had ever said to me which is great. I’ll make DTM my regular spot for my Mini.

I received an outrageous estimate from the Mini dealer (and scare tactics that you need to spend thousands or else) so I looked on Unilocal and found DTM and Eric.
Eric was very friendly listening to my situation and then patiently answering all of my many questions. He gave me a quote that was very reasonable and almost half the price of the Mini dealer. I decided to go in, but Eric asked more about the car and said it sounds good — no need to spend money for no reason. He offered a free checkup/​test whenever I want to swing for peace of mind, which I will do in a few days.
It is extremely rare to find a good mechanic who is so friendly and patient, and who helps you save money if you don’t need to spend it on unnecessary repairs. From now on, I’m only taking my Mini to Eric!

If I could give DTM Auto Salon 10 stars I would. I was gifted a 2000 323ci that was overheating and had a radiator leak, broken rearview mirror and flat tire. Or so I thought. I had her towed to DTM and Eric called me to tell me the bleeder screw was missing which caused the leak. Sounds simple. That was just the beginning, the former owner never changed the oil so Eric called me asking if I could come by the shop and he showed me what a mess this engine was in. I have pics of the engine and the gunk of hard oil that needed to be cut out of the car. Any other Shop would of said this couldn’t be fixed. Not DTM AutoSalon. He did numerous flushes, repaired the exhaust, worked on the catalytic converter, rewired the lights. They did so much!!! Eric is so knowledgeable and thinks out of the box. It took a month with ALL the repairs but my car is running so smooth and I could not be happier. They even took her for the smog test. Which she passed!!! They are very honest and with EVERYTHING they did it only cost me $ 2700.00. It’s like I have a new car. If you need a repair try DTM Auto first!!!

Absolutely a fantastic shop. Had a radiator and coolant leak and Eric and his team was able to quickly diagnose the problem and get my car back running as new again on the road. What really impresses me is Eric’s knowledge of the issue. He’s able to explain it in simple terms to keep me at ease of what happened and I feel absolutely confident that my car is back to its original condition again. Will definitely be back for all future services and repairs.

A rare occurrence of rain was about to happen and my wiper blades were dried out and fried. I had to find the closest and inexpensive to get new wipers blades for my convertible BMW. I was lucky to find this place, so close to where i was the day of rain. Someone was available to do the install and they had the blades in stock!
This was going to be a good day. This wasn’t a bad deal. It was less than $ 40 for the blades and install. Actually, it was a lot less expensive than originally planned, since the guy at the shop did not have changed, so charged me less to avoid having to give me change — what an idea and so great at that! I have a regular mechanic for my car, but thought i’d leave this review, since it was well deserved. I was in and out in about 10 minutes! Vroom vroom!

These guys are great, my Mini broke down ½ block from their shop and I’m from out of town. The were very busy but got me in to have a look. They spent at leas an hour checking it out and determined that I needed an alternator that had just been replaced in another shop and was under warentee so the did not actually work on it. They did spend an hour on it and did not charge me for their time. That kind of customer service will bring me back if I ever have a problem in Pasadena again.

I had them to fix my car about 3 months ago. My car had the same problem so since they told me there was warranty, I went back but they refuse me. Yes, I left a bad review about them here but I had to tell the truth about my experience for others.
Their warranty is only good for those who leave a good review here!!!

I have a 2010 Mini Cooper and just recently, my car started to «kick» specially when I would accelerate. I initially took my car to Mini of Monrovia who insisted that I needed a brand new transmission and that it would cost $ 11,000!!! I have only 50,000 miles on my car and have been maintaining it regularly. I ended up taking my car to this location and spoke with Dan. Right off the bat, he was very informative, educated me and resolved the issues for a very nominal fee (barely $ 500!!!). He simply said my battery mainly needed to be registered and that overall, my car is in good condition. He also changed my brakes. I saved my self $ 11,000 by going to this place and I highly recommend everyone to try this place for any Mini and BMW issues. It was a very positive experience!!!

I drive all the way from Redlands (1 hour and 30 minutes) to have my BMW repaired with peace of mind by Eric and his team at DTM. I found them by reading Unilocal reviews and took a chance last year. I will only take my car to DTM if I am anywhere near So Cal.
I had taken it two other places – both overcharged and fix the wrong items in my car. I was tired of spending $ 1K every time I went to the auto shop only to have another issue arise a week or so later. It turns out that others were not getting the root of the problem like DTM.
I am on a tight budget and Eric is so good about giving me the best options for repair that are viable for my wallet! They take the time to listen to you – not only about symptoms of car issues, but also how much you can afford during your visit.
They work hard to fix the car so I can go on my next adventure!

Really helpful and friendly employees, thorough job on the car, very reasonable price (much cheaper than I’d estimated).
One of the issues I went to DTM for was covered under a recall I didn’t even know about… one that not even my previous bmw-​only mechanic notified me of. They could have scammed me and had me fix it in their shop, but they sent me to the dealer instead to get it done for free.
In summary, great work by very honest and nice folks! I’ll be back!

The prices at DTM Auto have gone up and the customer service has gone down. I’ve always had a good experience with DTM Auto, however, since they’ve gotten busy I rarely get to talk with Dan (the owner?) anymore. I get the feeling that Dan probably deals with his more high end BMW customers instead of his less wealthy Mini Cooper customers (like me). Whatever the reason, the others at the shop don’t give the same level of service as Dan. As an example, I called to get a price on a repair and was told I would receive an email with the estimate. I never received an email. Soon after I emailed to ask how much an oil change would be. again, no response, no reply email. What’s up guys?
Another thing is although I trust DTM to do quality work, their prices have been getting pricier. As an example, an oil change for my Mini Cooper was $ 43 more than the place I eventually went to who specializes in primarily Mini Coopers. Although this shop is further away, the cost savings and personalized customer service is worth my time and the drive. Thanks for the memories DTM Auto, we can still be friends but it’s time to move on.

This place has great service! I want to thank Eric for being thorough with my car. I know people complain about it being hard to find an honest mechanic… well, guess what? I found one, he’s right here. lol
I was just worried about my car having an issue, so I had them double check my car. They looked over it and told me that there was nothing wrong.

After hitting 100,000 miles, there were obvious repairs …
–valve cover gasket
–oil filter housing gasket
I communicated with Dan and got the quotes via email, and made my appointment.
Dropped off the car Monday morning, and realized that more work was needed, like the build up gunk inside the engine.
Picked up the Bimmer Tuesday afternoon and she runs like new.
These guys are real professionals who know their shit.
