We are so lucky to have found Larry at Cabinet Happy. We’ve spent five years actively remodeling a 100-​year old duplex and Larry is the most straight-​forward, trustworthy craftsman we’ve ever encountered. He will do everything in his power to realize *your* vision while offering advice from his experience. Our custom cabinets are the highest quality but what’s blown me away most is how he stands by his work. We noticed a tiny issue only months after our project was complete and he didn’t hesitate too come out and fix it. Even though I know we can be demanding clients, he always made us feel our (sometimes unusual) requests were perfectly reasonable.
Nelson, who painted our cabinets was just as mind-​blowingly dedicated to his art. They care about my kitchen as much as I do.
You’ll notice that the only negative reviews on here are from people who couldn’t get in touch with the company as early as they liked. Someone as skilled as Larry is in high demand so plan ahead. I know I’m planning to use Cabinet Happy for every project in the future.

Contacted Cabinet Happy for a fairly unusual project-​outdoor cabinets to hide the unsightly electric and water meters on the exterior of our house. I described the project to Larry and he delivered exactly what we wanted (required specific marine waterproof/​water resistant materials and hardware). The cabinets were installed 2 years ago and are holding up (although we haven’t had much rain since they were installed). Larry and Juan are professionals-​know exactly what they’re doing and are a pleasure to work with. Thanks Cabinet Happy!

Cabinet Happy is one of those companies that is really on it. After a couple of hiccups in the remodel process, I wanted to get my cabinets installed by real pros and that’s exactly what I found in CH.
The response time was quick and Larry and Juan came prepared and did a professional and clean job.
Rarely does it happen that you contract work to be done and it goes seemlesly, this is one of those times.

Like others who reviewed, I was thrilled to find a cabinet maker with so many positive reviews. I emailed pics of a job, and awaited a response. I called several times, but no response. After several weeks of trying, Nelson did finally come out to see my job. He was great, and promised me a plan and quote the following week. I was excited! Thereafter, despite my many efforts to reach him, I never heard a word back from anyone at this company. If you can’t do a job, or you don’t want a job, have the common courtesy to say so.

Larry and Juan just finished installing my ikea kitchen cabinets and I couldn’t be happier! My cabinets look great… they did such a good job… total pros. Plus, and it’s a BIG plus, Larry and Juan are super easy to talk to and communicate with. And I love that they cleaned up every day before leaving. I will definitely be using them again!

After seeing the positive reviews for Cabinet Happy, I called and emailed for a quote and was asked to submit photos and drawings of the proposed work to be done. As this was a reasonable request, rough drawings, measurements, and pictures were emailed to both Larry and the main email address listed on their website. When I didn’t receive a response, I tried to reach the company several times, but received no call-​back or email. I was finally able to reach Larry and was told that I was one of many customers that haven’t received a call back or wouldn’t receive a call back.
A courtesy call or response to let the customer know of long lead times or availability would have been the professional response. Overall, the process was frustrating and the lack of attention to service is disappointing for a serious buyer/​customer.

Larry is honest and straight forward as can be. You can tell he just wants to build cabinets and he is the best as they come. I contacted Cabinet Happy and Larry got back to me within the first day. Others contractors took either a day or two longer, or not even called me back at all. So typical of contractors. Anyways, I got a total of three bids for my entertainment center. Cabinet Happy wasn’t the lowest bid but I went with Larry because he’s a no bs kind of guy and on top of that he had his contractor’s license and carried all the necessary insurances. My project was installed on time and the team did very beautiful woodwork. Even after we settled up, he was happy to come back to swap out a squeaky hinge a couple of months later. I highly recommend Larry and his team for any custom cabinet projects.

My wife and I were hoping to have Cabinet Happy do a build out in our son’s room. We spoke to Nelson, and all was good — we sent him pics and ideas and he emailed us back and told us he would get us something to look at within a week.
We didnt hear back from him, so emailed him a few times and still never heard back from him. Poor customer service, if you dont want to or cant do a job let the customer know — disappearing is a weak move.

I got the pleasure of working with Larry and his crew from Cabinet Happy to remodel the kitchen of my first home (in Riverside). Start to finish, from responding to my request for a quote to installing the last cabinet door handle, Larry was professional, courteous, responsive, mindful, punctual, accountable, and the list goes on. In one sentence, Larry is one of best contractors one can ever work with. I should also mention that Cabinet Happy’s pricing is very competitive.
Planning — Larry was extremely mindful of my needs and requirements, especially with budgeting concerns. After giving several pointers on how I could keep costs down without sacrificing too much on quality and looks, I decided to have Larry help me demo and haul away the old kitchen, and install an IKEA kitchen. I shaved off costs by taking my kitchen measurements to IKEA and having the staff there help me with my design, and assembling and readying the «carcasses» for them to install.
Cabinet Happy’s bid was very competitive. I had one other close bid to consider, also professional and received rave reviews, but it was Larry’s responsiveness, professionalism, and patience with my inquiries that won me over (maybe also because he was a fellow 626er).
Larry also offered a few creative ideas regarding some of the strange plumbing that I had going on. Being that budget did not allow for re-​plumbing, Larry respected my decision and was able to work around these nuances.
Installation — Larry and his crew was punctual on all three days for demo and installation. They brought their own blankets to layout over the floor, thereby protecting my newly installed flooring. Larry was very proficient in installing the IKEA kitchen, taking him and his crew a little over a day for 14 boxes and butcher-​block countertop… Hence the reason for hiring someone to install an IKEA kitchen, as oxymoron as it sounds. It would have taken me several weekends! At the end of the day, Larry busted out his broom and swept the floor before heading home.
I also appreciate this attention to detail: he was able to align all the doors and drawers, save for one stubborn door, and the placement of the handles were right where I wanted them.
No doubt about it, hands down, 5 solid stars! I look forward to the day I can call Larry out for another project, or refer him to a friend or family.
Just a fair warning to future clients: working with Larry (or anyone from Cabinet Happy for that matter) will set the bar extremely high for any contractors you may work with! Unfortunately, Cabinet Happy is an exception, not the norm.

Nelson, Larry and Juan rocks period. i have always wanted to remodel my kitchen ever since i bought my house back in 2002. But i really do not have the money or the trust in the contractor to do so. After trial and errors with the few small project i have learned that a really good contractor is really hard to find. Thanks to Unilocal i found Nelson and his team with really impressive rating, An anonymous 5 starsrating on Unilocal.My first instinct was how the hell can they managed to get almost a perfect 5 star rating on Unilocal.
Unilocalers are super hostile especially when it come to a non hospitality industries like the custom made cabinet makers. I called Nelson in January and inquired about what to do and how much would it cost to remodel my kitchen. Nelson did educated my wife and i a lot about what to do and what to expect from the whole process. I felt really comfortable with Nelson with all his patience and his easy to understand explanations. I should have told him to treat me like a 5 years old because i have no idea what is he talking about. He spent countless time explaining to me and my wife about the whole process and what to expect .
Finally in April after getting several quotes from their competitor we finally decide to go with Cabinet Happy.. In reality i chose Cabinet Happy since January the second time i talked to Nelson. We were so hoping that his bid will be affordable, i guessed because we are not rich and famous like most of his clientele. I still remembered the day Nelson email our bids my wife was so happy that his bid was within our budgets and Finally it was a done deal. We finally get to remodel our kitchen.
The D day Nelson, Larry and Juan show up to installed our cabinets after countless days of delay thank to the city of San Dimas. The end results is beyond my expectations. Unfortunately thank to the Cabinet Happy I can not invite my boss to the house because seriouly i might get a pay cut…:((Because definitely they will be jealous)

OK. If there was a spot for one more star, I would use it. Nelson and his crew deserve a nice big 6 STAR review if you ask me.
First thing is the personal time and suggestions /​ideas /​creativity that Nelson provides. In this day and age where the only thing you get is a big photo file that shows reference material to work with, Nelson provided much more than that. I had my kitchen done by Cabinet Happy and was on a budget. Nelson suggested me to work with specific suppliers and even gave me a layout that worked in the best interest of me and the tight space to work with. Layout, Storage, Flow, Work space, etc etc. All these things and more were considered by Nelson.
Next thing is professionalism. I hate late contractors. Who likes them? These guys? On time. Polite. Clean up after themselves. All the things you expect. On top of that, they understand and work with other contractors to make the project happen on time with no issues.
On top of all of this? After the project, I get a follow up phone call to make sure everything was done as expected and if there was anything else they can do. Actually, I had one thing.
My bathroom cabinet (bought from Lowes) had 2 sections that looked like drawers but did not function. They were «fake» and I was not happy about that. Nelson came through by making them into real drawers by custom installing drawers into them. What else can you ask for from a contractor? Make coffee in the morning for you?

I was lucky enough to have Nelson and his team at Cabinet Happy completely renovate our kitchen, including building a pantry. They brought creative and practical ideas to our design while keeping us within our budget. They were the only contractors who we received bids from who were willing to work WITH us and not just tell us how things would be done.
We are still enjoying our beautiful kitchen and constantly receive compliments. I wouldn’t hesitate to work w/​Cabinet Happy again and would highly recommend them.

Wow! I thought all these reviews were a bit over the top, but after having a one on one consultation, now I understand why! Honestly Nelson (one of the owners of the company) is one of the most ethical and gracious business people I have ever worked with. So ethical in fact that he even showed us how to cut corners to save money and still get exactly what I want! Hard to find such a person in this remodeling world.

Nelson and his team did an awesome job with my kitchen cabinet! I needed an extra cabinet added to my existing set and it needed to match. They made it perfectly! You can’t even tell that we just added it on. They got every detail down.
The guys at cabinet happy are professional, friendly and punctual (even when you are not). Poor Nelson and Tom. I was late 45 min for the install and they were kind enough to patiently wait for me and were very gracious when I was finally ready.
We’ll definitely go back to cabinet happy later on if we need more work. :) thanks cabinet happy!

Nelson and the folks at Cabinet Happy are the best!
I needed a customized cabinet built for my small garage. I don’t park any cars in it and use it for storage/​work area/​play area/​workout area. It was starting to get a little cluttered and Cabinet Happy stepped in and saved the day.
They were able to finish ahead of schedule and under the original estimate. I actually wish I had a need for them to do some interior work as I love the kitchen and home office work they’ve done for others.
Maybe I’ll go break something in the house :)

We have deliberately tried to make every home furnishing piece we’ve acquired really count, even at the expense of eating quite a few dinners on the floor, watching TV on the floor, [insert a task] on the floor. You get the point. Fast forward a few years, we had managed to snag a great dining room table, but no seating. We had an idea for a bench, a graffiti bench, something in a mustard tone to match a funky little tea pot set we keep on the table.
Enter Cabinet Happy!
We’ve seen their work in person and began to ask ourselves, why try to find the perfect bench. when it could be done custom to spec. Their attention to detail, their great interest in aesthetics, and their unyielding desire to create a quality product made the decision a no brainer. We called nelson, talked over a few design ideas, and ultimately settled on our mustard graf bench. His enthusiasm is infectious, and will really get you thinking about what it is you want to do.
The end result, we love it! Granted it’s changed a bit as we’ve had all of our friend’s sign it, however it stands in our home, utilized daily, top workmanship, and just awesome. I even sleep on it at times to stretch my back out, lol. It’s one of those things that simply draw inspiration. Not much more can be said, other than Cabinet Happy is tops. hands down!

I had the kitchen in my old condo done by Cabinet Happy and they were great.
I had a particular aesthetic that I was looking for but I didn’t have any solid ideas.
They worked with me and recommended some ideas and the results were fantastic and they did it at a great price!
I can’t recommend them enough. They were also communicative and helpful and worked around my schedule.
Too bad I sold the condo because I loved the kitchen and what they did with it.

Whenever I put out a bid, I try to get as many as possible; after all it’s my money. Nelson at Cabinet Happy was one of five. Even though I suspected from the start that he would win the contest to build two unique cabinets [one rounded, one squared], on either side of the bed in the master bedroom, I was elated by his price.
And oh so local to boot.
As I get older, I want QUALITY, convenience, and service. Yeah price is a consideration but what I’m buying, I have to look at and live with every day. Nelson’s fine result is in my upscale home and it feels good every single day to know I bought the best.
Yes, one bid was lower than his. Not enough, though, to offset Nelson’s superior understanding of knowing exactly what I wanted

I can’t rave enough about this company, they are the Sh#t !!!
I’m a free lance engineer that needed a display case for a client in LA. It was very intricate. I wanted to have it made in Nor Cal, then ship it down to LA, then Ship it up back. But that would piss off my client and jack the price up.
But then I realized it might be cheaper to have it made in So Cal. I sent CAD models to some Carpentry companies, but I found it more expensive that Nor Cal. I was searching on the web and I found Cabinet Happy. Pictures of their work was crazy good on line.
I left a message and Nelson called me. He was very professional. Asked tons of quesitons, How would I like the grit finish, safety film of the glass, etc. stuff that I would never of thought of. No sales pressure at all. AT ALL!
and the price was so much freaking less! It was ½ the price of some other company i found! ½ the freaking price!
Like I said, it’s all about the service, not just the price. 5 stars for the service, 1 star for the price, and 1 star for being in So Cal, so I don’t have to ship the darn thing to SoCal

oh.i asked to expedite the delivery, expecting an expediting fee, they said they won’t charge me.
They treat their customers like freaking royalty! Too bad I only had that 1 job in LA, but maybe I might get another one in the future. I would definitely use them again.

Cabinet Happy delivers an end product which is both beautiful and functional. We particularly appreciated the process and their true professional candor in consulting with us on the project. At the outset, Nelson took the time to go through the details and made suggestions on what would work and wouldn’t. As part of our original plan, we wanted shelving for our entertainment system. But rather than capitalize and sell us on more Cabinet Happy work, Nelson honestly told us that the space was best utilized without shelving and provided us with practical tips and inexpensive alternatives! With such honesty, we felt good going with Cabinet Happy.
We were drawn to the aesthetic of Cabinet Happy’s several sample works. So that part was easy. What was surprising is that Nelson really listened to our needs and delivered a kitchen that was not only beautiful but so amazingly functional. Who knew a kitchen remodel could make such a difference! Originally on the fence about the costs of kitchen remodel but now, we can say without hesitation that it was well worth it. The kitchen is now our happy place!
