I came to see Dr Gordon for personal issues and was constantly having anxiety and worrying too much. She was very nice and attentive and took the time to hear about my concerns on my health and took the time to get to know me. During my treatments I would always fall asleep because I was super relaxed. It’s amazing how I can be relaxed with all these needles inside me. I felt refreshed everytime after my treatment.
Her office is very clean and cozy but can be a bit chilli during the winter. I would recommend brining a pair of Capri pants for you ladies who don’t like the cold.
Dr Gordon is caring and very friendly. I would recommend her to anyone! She really cares about her patients.

Karen Gordon is a tremendous acupuncturist and healer! I have been to several different acupuncturists over the past 10 years (all over Los Angeles) and she is by far the best. She is patient, kind, intuitive, thoughtful, intelligent, and very talented. In addition, her office is beautiful, relaxing, and cozy. It feels like a place you’d like to go on a little relaxing retreat.
I started seeing Karen because I have suffered from chronic pain after two brain surgeries over the past four years. During my work with her, I was able to stop taking all of my prescription medication and heal my body. After only a couple months I was medication-​free and I got pregnant right away! I’ve been seeing her throughout my pregnancy and will continue to do so.
I’m so grateful to have found her and would recommend her to anyone looking to ease chronic pain as well as those looking to start a healthy pregnancy.

I came to Karen after 16 months of trying to get pregnant on my own, one failed cycle at a fertility clinic, and a setback of cysts due to overstimulation. I was completely broken — mentally, spiritually, physically. After just one treatment, I knew this was the answer I’d been searching for. I felt a sense of clarity that I’d been missing during the past year, I felt «lighter», and I had a new found hope for the future.

I have been getting acupuncture every week for over 2 years for a chronic set of issues that nobody prior to Dr. Karen Gordon knew how to treat, at least not very effectively. Regular doctors had pretty much given up and said there was nothing more they could do for me, but almost as soon as I sat down for my first session with Karen, she knew what was at the root of my issue. I barely even had to explain my health history, and she just knew. She gave me targeted advice and a clear plan for getting healthy. Within 3 weeks of following her prescribed diet I could see a striking improvement in my condition, and I have seen more progress in my few months of treatment with her than with any of the four other acupuncturists I had seen in the previous year and a half.
Karen has a gentle, soothing presence that put me at ease from the first session. Since I was in particularly rough shape that day, she added a couple of really delightful elements to the treatment, like some guided imagery and breathing exercises that helped me relax, and at the end of the session she did some cupping on my back and a nice little foot rub. So great. And unlike other places I’ve been for treatment, the beds at BEAM Wellness are comfortable enough to fall asleep during your treatment (I can’t stand it when people use medical paper on the acupuncture beds — it makes things feel so cold and clinical). The atmosphere at BEAM is so inviting, it smells good (like essential oils), is warmly lit, and Karen herself is warm, friendly, and genuinely caring.
One of the things I appreciate most about Karen is her measured approach. The last person I went to for treatment prescribed me practically every herbal supplement under the sun, which became incredibly expensive incredibly quickly. But Karen has only given me a couple of the most necessary herbs, and the prices for all of them have been extremely reasonable — cheaper than anything else I’ve been prescribed elsewhere. And when she prescribes certain foods or herbal teas, she tries to suggest things that actually taste good. Imagine that!
I could not be happier with Karen. She does an excellent job — highly recommended.

The office is serene and well appointed in an adorable and classic Pasadena home office. Parking is street parking but I am always able to find parking easily.
Dr. Gordon has a wonderful gentle presence and warm personality. She is always prompt with responding and attempts to accomodate reasonable requests.
As far as her work goes, she has done wonders and my desired results have been met. I have been to a large well known acupuncture center in Pasadena before Dr. Gordon. While that place is decent, it is much more expensive and all of the sessions are identical and sometimes uncomfortable (parts of my body fell asleep). Dr. Gordon is different — she has managed to get me to fully relax and pass out during my sessions. A few sessions varied due to the condition I was in. Regardless, I always walk out of Dr. Gordon’s office refreshed and relaxed. It’s a definite joy, finding Dr. Gordon!
The best part? She has most reasonable prices in Pasadena which makes her the the best value in my book! Go see her!

Dr. Karen Gordon is wonderful. And the space she practices in is too. I prefer the quaintness of a neighborhood and independent house converted into a calm, healing place, rather than bustling, business-​oriented buildings. Parking is easy and readily available, and even the walk up to the door is quiet and pleasant.
Upon entering her office for the first time, the place exceeded any expectations, but ultimately was what I wished for when it comes to a therapeutic environment. She took her time with me, listening to my medical history and things I care to get out of acupuncture (and cupping). She really went into depth about what her protocol would be to address my needs. I have quite the impeded female menstrual functions and some anxiety issues, and Dr. Gordon has been working wholeheartedly to help me restore equilibrium and relieve my symptoms.
Her intentions and her practice are strong and sound. And I know what I have begun there is working. I have now been once or twice a week for almost a month (yay for PPO insurance), and I able to say, I can breathe more deeply, I have stopped grinding my teeth, and I actually feel healthy activity in my reproductive organs. Acupuncture wakes us up to sensations in our being and energy we sometimes forget exists. I’ve had some wonderful acupuncture experiences years ago, and sort of left it all behind at some point. But these experiences though, with Dr. Gordon are really the most fruitful I’ve had. Acupuncture is the best jumpstart to this new process of reclaiming my health and harnessing my female wellness, and is something not only I am grateful for but deeply enjoy.
I would not doubt, no matter what age, gender, or health concerns one may have, that Dr. Gordon would be an intelligent, wonderful source of medical care.

I have seen Dr. Karen Gordon a few times now and each time I have felt tremendously better and gotten much relief from her treatments. Karen Gordon is amazing. She has such a calming presence and is very skilled as an acupuncturist. She is energetic and effective – using needling, cupping, or whatever is needed to help cure my problems. I sent my boyfriend to Karen, and he has had great experiences, also.
