JuliaCore is a boutique barre studio established in 2014. Our signature FREE unlimited two-week trial gives everyone the opportunity to see if JuliaCore is right for them.
Barre class is a one hour session of specific movements designed to isolate and strengthen large muscle groups. This method blends Pilates principles with positions and stretching of yoga. For a cardio effect, the movements are performed to catchy music. Instead of machines, the body uses its own weight to create resistance for each muscle group in isolation. Although a ballet barre is used, this routine should not be confused with ballet training. This class is about form and precision. The rewards are a toned body, increased strength, flexibility, energy, agility, confidence, and youthful spirit.
Thai stretching is a session of an interactive bodywork that combines assisted stretching and application of pressure to various muscles. During this session, the giver uses her whole body, as well as hands, forearms, elbows, and feet to move the recipient into different positions. Among the stretches, there are deep hip openers, leg and arm stretches, back bends, shoulder and neck stretches.

Established in 2014.
There is no athletic or dance experience in my past: I cut gym classes and smoked two packs a day. After three children, my bathroom scale hit north of 220 lb and was put away. My first barre class I took on a dare: a friend bet me $ 20 so I went for the money. Twelve years later, 80 lb lighter, 9 sizes smaller, I look and feel like never before. But not the body transformation attached me to the barre from day one. These changes went unnoticed until people started pointing them out months later. The most addicting was the feeling of inner strength that rolled on after each session: anything was possible, everything was exciting. For the first time in my life, I felt capable and confident. Inspired, I started sharing what I have learned: for the first four years, with friends in my basement, then, for seven years, instructing at the Fitness Barre in Waldwick, NJ. Now, certified by NYC’s barre industry leaders of Exhale Mind Body, I am a barre instructor in my own studio.

To my teaching, I bring more than a decade of consistent practice and continuous research on the concepts of this technique. What makes my instruction different is my previous training as a science writer. I spent years deciphering medical language and translating it into human words. That experience, plus knowledge of anatomy and physiology, help me better guide my guests towards the path of mind-body synergy so integral to the transformation. I encourage my students to better understand their bodies, enjoy the road rather than focus on the destination, and challenge them to go beyond what they think they can do. From their drive and ability to work, I derive my own inspiration and assurance that positive changes can happen at any any age.
