Visiting our condo from time to time(we are from the midwest), I was looking for a place that served genuine home-made dishes. Uptown Fare was that place. From the fresh roasted turkey to the To-Die-For carrot cake and the homemade soups, this cozy and fun restaurant provided a welcoming sense of «home». Karleen and Nivin and the rest of the Uptown ladies are always friendly and willing to chat about the news of the day(when there isn’t a line-which is rare)! It’s the hidden gem of Mainstreet PC.

The best lunch in Park City! Fresh, local, fair prices. Roast Beef, Turkey and the watermelon gazpacho are standouts but the deserts are all excellent too. As for the one star reviews here don’t listen to them. Don’t expect them to cater to your every need, if you are impolite or demanding you will be treated like garbage and guess what, you deserve to be! Here’s a news flash just because you are buying a sandwich that doesn’t make you their #1 customer. Also for the one star reviewers concerned about hygiene, I would be grateful they are making you food in plain sight, chances are your demanding behavior results in much more egregious offences behind closed doors most places you eat!

This little place is my lunch time staple! Found it last winter season working on main street! They are only open monday-friday which is sort of a bummer. But the food never lets me know. The soup is always perfect. The egg salad and the turkey salad is to die for. But its hard to for me to say no to the turkey sandwich! The only time i get anything else is if they have run out of turkey! Which does happen. Love this place!

Had a really sad experience at Uptown Fare yesterday. Was a bit reluctant upon entering given how cramped the space is(with super low ceilings), but figured I’d give it a try based on all of the rave reviews. I generally love to support local businesses, but this place is simply not up to par given its complete disregard for hygiene. The older woman behind the counter was making sandwiches, cutting cake, and carving turkey with her bare hands(while touching her face), despite the box of gloves placed on the counter right next to her. She refused to put the gloves on to make our food(a clear violation of health code) and then asked us to leave the restaurant. I can’t imagine how this place will survive with such disregard for hygiene and customer service.

While the food looks good, especially the fresh roasted turkey, the attitude of the staff is a total turn off. We asked for the food preparers to wear food hygiene gloves(there was a box available) while preparing our food. We were told«good bye», that they were too busy to accommodate that request. Most unappealing to see carrot cake being served by the staff with a knife for cutting and a hand for grabbing the slice. The independent attitude that we experienced cannot be a sustaining thing for a small shop.

It’s upsetting when a small business such as this is horrible with customer service; the woman making sandwiches did not wear gloves and kept touching her face. We asked if they wear gloves, another woman help up a box of them and said yes we’re supposed to. However the woman making sandwiches kept ignoring us, eventually telling us to leave and that she was to busy to wear gloves. Sad excuse for poor hygiene.

Found this gem by accident on a Friday. They are closed on Sat. & Sun. Had to wait til Mon. To come back for my fix! Between the two of us, we had the tomato ravioli, African, quinoa sweet potato, Hungarian mushroom, and watermelon gazpacho. Best gazpacho ever… am now going to try to make some myself. I would order each again… you can’t go wrong. Wish I had found this gem sooner, healthy, tasty and delicious. cheers ladies! Carrot cake was moist & delicious. Only tried the turkey and the hummus & roasted veggies sandwiches, both tastebud pleasers. They close by 3pm… so plan it’s at the TOP of Main St. Worth the walk. or catch the trolley. Will be dreaming of the Hungarian mushroom when the weather changes. we ate there Fri. And took some soup to go for the next day when they would be closed. Good plan. We will return on next trip!

A café that feels like your sister’s living room. If my sister didn’t live in Arizona, I might actually argue that it was my sister’s living room. They affectionately teased my kids, gave me the recipe to their watermelon gazpacho, and even told my 5 yr old that she could have a dessert if she ate«3 more bites». Yep, I think this had to have been my sister Kelly’s house. Thick slices of soft bread with turkey that they slice off the breast when they make your sandwich. –this is fresh, people. I loved the watermelon gazpacho and would have chosen the tomato tortellini soup had I been able to fit two bowls in my stomach. Perhaps next time. Very tiny. I felt like I was eating in a rabbit’s hole. There are only a handful of tables, but it’s cozy and very homey With the way they so warmly welcomed my family, the fresh ingredients, and a menu that’s small enough to maintain quality control but big enough to please anyone, I will certainly be back. .

Came here based on Unilocal reviews. Lived up to the good reviews. Turkey Sandwich was great; carved right off the whole roasted turkey with a delicious cranberry, horseradish spread. Had the ½ sandwich with a cup of soup combo. Tomato cream soup was very tasty and the combo was just the right amount of food, which left room for one of their excellent, homemade brownies for dessert. Fresh lemonade to drink was spot on as well.

Outstanding home cooked food… you won’t find a Sysco truck delivering frozen food to this place.

Uptown Fare is a «mahvelous» little gem of a place at the top of Main Street. Unless you are looking for it, you are likely to walk right past it, which is what I think they want, as Karleen and her crew focus firstly on feeding us locals. That doesn’t mean you can’t get served if you are a tourist, but you had better come with a thick skin and a sense of humor. Not only is everything they serve simply awesome, but it is a great place to gather and get a line on the latest gossip on the mountain. Important safety tip; duck your heads, tall people. Now, where was I? Oh, yes. Karleen bakes a turkey every evening and has it in the place when she opens up. You can’t get Turkey any fresher at your Grandma’s house. On Big Larry’s Turk-O-Meter it is rated«Extra Smoooove». To be honest, I have only had the turkey there, with the occasional hummus-veggie in case I am feeling peckish, but don’t know about the other meats. The soups are absolutely great too, but I haven’t tried the tomato. There is just something wrong about tomato soup. I just don’t get it. All the other soups are great especially the tortilla, although if it says spicy, you’d better like spicy. She also makes old fashioned rice Krispy treats and they are nostalgia in a bite. Her bread is awesome — I wish I knew where she got it. Rumor has it that that«Yum-O» chick asked for the recipe and was denied, but that’s just a rumor. BTW, if I hear Yum-O” one more time I’m gonna hurl. As I said, it is mostly a locals place. During Sundance, she usually has a bouncer out in front and you need to have a secret password to gain admission. Seriously. How can you get the password? It’s SECRET!!! Ya gotta work for it, like getting into Paris’s party at the Caledonian(though far more yummy and you won’t come home with a disease). Even if you live here, you have to tread lightly to get accepted. Karleen is an amazingly sweet and funny woman, but you will never know unless you become part of the club. Ya gotta put up with a slap down on occasion, but it’s just part of their schtick, so just go along for the ride. Don’t try to get served during major holidays. She always closes and puts up a sign that is always a variation on «Make your own damn Turkey for a change». All-in-all, a great place for some mid-day sustenance and good gossip in our beautiful city.

If I could give this place 100 stars I would! This cozy and absolutely wonderful little lunch spot is by far my favorite place in Park City! I love the refreshingly funny ladies running the joint, the relaxed atmosphere, and of course the food! I feel like I come to lunch at my mom’s house and she just knows what’s best. Thank you Karleen and Nivin for always being here! I cherish every moment and every bite of your delicious and made with so much love fare. I am so looking forward to being back… almost every day :)

Quaint and cozy! We walked in just before lunch got rolling. My boys were looking around to place their order, when one of the ladies said«We just took the turkey out of the oven.» Sold! They both ordered turkey sandwiches and washed them down with sarsaparilla sodas. We were on our way to the airport so our conversation turned to the trip highlights. They both agreed that lunch at Uptown Fare was one if the best things. They said it reminds them of Grandma’s house. And they wanted to know why we didn’t come here earlier on our trip! The turkey is a winner and their homemade soups are outstanding!

I came to this sandwich shop with my family — 5 adults and two kids. As I watched my family order, I couldn’t help but notice how rude the older woman with glasses was to the customers. She noticed me observing her and gave me one of those«the hell are you looking at looks». I told her«I’m fascinated by how rude you are treating the customers supporting your restaurant». My family all immediately left the restaurant. On our way out, one of the younger girls yelled at us «see our Unilocal reviews and you’ll see why». — almost like she saying the older woman is the problem and nothing she can do about it? It was a very bad experience to say the least. Hope the old lady either retires or gets on an extra dose of Lexapro!

Let me first say that whenever we are in Park City we come here for lunch. The food is clearly homemade. We love the fact they have 4+ soups daily to choose from. The service is kind and warm and very accommodating. My daughter had the turkey noodle and I had the pork verde. Both were excellent. Half sandwich with a bowl of soup is perfect! Comes with chips as well. We travel all over the world and know that if 9 out of 10 people love a restaurant the 10th person that writes a poor review is an idiot(talking to you Gol E) We LOVE this hidden gem. Stumbled through the doors of this amazing establishment for lunch on a cold day. Immediately, I feel like I’m in my grandmas house and realize I’m definitely in the right place. Speak with the kind lady behind the counter and decide the turkey sandwich with tomato soup is the way to go, and see a lovely older lady begin to make me a sandwich. This is gonna be good. Take a seat and moments later and I’m greeted with a paper plate containing a humble sandwich with chunks of juicy, tender turkey and a bowl of tomato soup that surely must have been passed down from the soup gods. Hit this Texan right in his maternal feels. We were then talked into getting a slice of carrot cake, which was clearly a brilliant idea. That cake is the real deal folks. It was the perfect amount of food and everything was outstanding. Do the right thing. Get some grub here.

Honestly my experience here was one of the most saddening and traumatizing restaurant and customer service experience in my life. I understand the whole«YAY we love the homemade feel and food» reactions… But I have never been to someone’s «home» and been verbally assaulted for wanted to get creative with my personal food intake. I cook a lot at home and invent recipes all the time, sometimes random mixing and combinations are phenomenal in the end and that’s a joy to discover. It’s taken me a few years to write this review but the taste in my mouth when I left was so bitter it has been a source of instant chest tightening anxiety to think about even now. After rave reviews from my fellow Slamdance filmmakers and staff I came here for a nice hearty lunch with some friends. Looking over the menu and soup selection I decided I wanted to try a combination of two soups that both sounded appetizing. After jokingly asking the cashier(a sweet girl) if it was cool for me to mix two soups together, she replied with«I don’t mind, but she might be» — pointing to an older woman to her right. The woman making a sandwich(Karleen) barely looked up at me with such attitude and said«um yea, that’s disgusting.» At that point I just brushed off her rudeness as I continued to order my soup concoction. Karleen continued with her attitude and anger stating that I «was crazy.» I then mentioned«well I’m a culinary artist and try to be creative with my own food all the time!» Her response to that was, «well yea you’re obviously a nutcase.» Um… When have you EVER heard that from a person making your food with«kindness and love,» as everyone says on here. NEVER! Reluctantly I stayed around and sat with my friends with such stress and trauma in my heart that the whole eating experience was completely ruined. The soup mixture I asked for was GREAT to my taste buds… And if Karleen had any inch of creativity and tolerance, she may have had a magic addition to her menu. The awesomeness doesn’t end there. On the way out, we were paying our bill at the cashier and my friend had to run out to get some cash from a friend for a tip, and as I was paying my bill Karleen thinking he had run out screamed through the whole restaurant to the bouncer that«WEWERENOTWELCOMEHEREANYMORE!» Excuse me?! I’m sitting here, paying my bill… My friend went to get some Cash to tip and the whole restaurant now thinks we are crazy people trying to run out on our tab. Really? No thank you. You can be all pissy to the Sundance customers you HATE(they have a bouncer to keep them out) but Slamdance people who support you?! It ruined my whole day and I’m still in shock… 2 years later.

Ran in here one day and said, «I’m in a hurry — what do you have that is gluten free?» Moments later, Karleen is dishing up a curried chicken salad, served over a bed of lettuce. VERY tasty. This is one of those«hidden gems» that only«locals» seem to know about. Surprisingly, the place is closed on weekends! WHAT??? But, think about it, this place caters to locals who often avoid the very busy weekends on Main Street.
