Aloha Ski & Snowboard Rentals

I’ve had some equipment issues while at PCMR. The staff at Aloha has been very helpful. Dylan one of the techs has been especially helpful. The tune shop on Main street has also do good work for me.

Spent 4 days at Park City and cam with a group of six people. I usually plan my trips well in advance and since I’m booking rentals for my family and friends i tend to be a little picky. Aloha came recommended and I was pleased when i called ahead of time for info on rentals and then booked online in advance. I got a 20% discount. we rented a standard package, but the Demo’s looked good and they were willing to upgrade me later if I wanted. All of their rentals were brand NEW equipment.
The staff at the store was great, Adam and Garrett took care of us, even when my boots didn’t fit just right they made sure i was good to go the next day. We had some ladies in the group and they made sure the boots and skis worked well. They even helped us out when had to add a fifth skier on our second day. My review is for the store at PCMR only, but we were quite pleased with the service. Also like that this is a locally owned and operated business.

Summary: intolerant, unfriendly workers; mediocre skis and boots
Details: I personally had no issues with my skis or boots, but both my sister and mother had to return and exchange their boots due to discomfort. When they went back to the store to get a half size larger boot, they were greeted by a rude young man who refused to change their boots out because he claimed they should move down a size. So, my mom and sister left and tried to continue skiing. The next day, the pain was so unbearable that they had to return the boots for a size up. And what do you know? They no longer had any issues. Takeaway: LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMER. In any service position, the customer is never wrong. I will never rent again from this place, solely due to the rude jack*sses that work here.

Very nice equipment. Best prices for rentals. Have tried most of the rental places over the last 25 years and this is my favorite.

This location seems hit or miss with the service. The one guy seemed a bit cranky when we picked up our rentals… I felt like he just wanted to get us out the door, didn’t even ask what type of experience we had in snowboarding… Or what type of board we may want… Or how we wanted our bindings set. He didn’t even check if we were comfortable with the standard stance they set up… And they weren’t even busy with other customers at that moment… He just didn’t seem like he cared and he wasn’t very detail oriented… Was just disappointed with the service.

Conveniently located at 2 resorts that I know of: Park City and Canyons. They have everything for skiers and snowboarders plus rentals. In regards to rentals you may return at any Aloha shop… plus any changes in equipment may be made at either shop also ie demos. Try to reserve your rental ahead of time to avoid the morning rental crowd. Friendly staff and helpful. BTW if you Unilocal the store at least 2x you’ll get a free hand warmer.

We rented snowboarding gear for my husband (board and boots). The gear was good, but the service was AWFUL. You sign in on a computer, and they are supposed to call your name and help you, or so we were told by an employee. But someone would go ask one of the employees for something, and then that person would get fitted for gear even though it wasn’t their turn. My husband finally had to go up and talk to someone after 20 minutes of just sitting there, and, no, it was NOT busy. They fitted him, and then we were told to go to the checkout counter where we waited another 10 minutes before someone went behind the counter to help us. It is not worth the extra few bucks you save from using their coupons.
We won’t use them again.

reserve online in advance — 20% off. service was great– but there were not many people in the store when we checked in. Thoughtful, kind, mellow. One of us got sick and so returned gear 1 day early — got refund which was nice. Great LOCATION!

Friendly staff and excellent Diamond Back mountain bike rentals, the bikes were brand new !!! What I like most was the employee of the shop going over the bike with my son, he even made him ride around the lot practicing shifting. He wanted to make sure he had a fun day on the mountain, he also told us where two purchase lift tickets. I am a fan !!

Dude, when I get burnt out from my 9 – 5, I’m moving to Park City and working here!
Snowboarded here for my birthday in February 2014. Service was great and the place is super convenient — right on your way to the slopes. Left my equipment there overnight and left stuff in the lockers every day and never had a problem.
Be on the lookout for deals online that can get you a discount in advance.

The best place to rent skis at The Canyons! Cass and Eric could not have been more helpful. I wanted a specific ski that was not in the shop and Cass called 5 different Shops to find it! These guys make renting skis fun! Hope their manager is reading this … Give em a raise!!!

Booked online and went with a demo board. The largest demo board they had was a 157 (rather small). I was promised for my second day a bigger board (162). Arrived for the second day of my reservation and to my dismay they did not hold a board and ended up with a 156. All in all, nice staff, just wished they had more longer /​wider board selections.

I was browsing the used demo skis for sale (Aloha still had several dozen pairs in June 2013). I was helped by an enthusiastic guy that gave me tips on the best all-​mountain K2 skis still on sale. Got a bargain for $ 150. Then, when we were worried about the skis fitting in the SmartCar I was driving he offered to deliver them to my house in Kimball Junction after he closed the shop… a distance of 6+ miles. When he delivered them right on time, he fit my boots to the skis. That was classy. My wife has bought ski wear there, as well. The main shop is about a block up from Zoom on Main Street in the Galleria Bldg. Mellow vibe, no attitude unlike LOTs of PC ski shops. (Check out the-​unaffiliated-​Vietnamese restaurant, upstairs too.) I can highly recommend them.

They melted the top of my ski and then tried to tell me I brought it in that way. The owner lied and never followed up to try and fix the problem. My ski was ruined and not only did I not get any compensation I had to pay for the ski tuning.

I have been renting from here for the past 5 years and I have never had a problem. They keep my info so I just give my name when I walk in and in less than 5 minutes, I have my equipment. All of the workers are nice and really helpful. Location is great, walking distance from the ticket window and Payday lift. They also carry helmets, goggles, etc. What’s great is that I have been wanting to purchase the Atomic Cloud 9 skis for awhile now and they have them for rental, so I don’t have to! See you guys next year!

My family and friends rented lots of gear (and purchased as well) and the expereince was great! The pricing was fair and the service and advice was terrific. They took their time with us as we had quite a few kids in our party and was very professional and courteous. I’ll rent from them again when we go back!

Not the best inventory of retail merchandise, but the only place to rent snowboard gear in my mind.
Fabulous location about 2 blocks walk from Town Lift. Hard to get more convenient than that unless they strapped the board on for you just before you jumped on the lift.
Everybody in the shop was super friendly. They took their time. We didn’t feel rushed at all. They asked us a lot of questions about our riding styles, preferences, etc. to ensure we got the right board & right fit.
Speaking of the boards, they didn’t offer crappy, outdated planks. My wife and I both rode 2011 Contract boards. She, the Citizen Shred. I rode the Code. Sick rides with fun graphics.
The rental process was easy, and reasonably priced. We had our own boots, so we got boards & bindings set ups for $ 39/​day. Will cost you $ 8 more a day if you need boots. The bindings were a tad on heavy side, but functioned nicely. There is also a slightly cheaper package, but you won’t get the sweet rides that we did. Worth to pay up in mind if you spent the time & money to visit the mountains in PC.
The icing on the cake: We paid for a 2 day rental, but they let us pick up our boards the afternoon before so we could get first tracks in the morning.

Just rented from Aloha at The Canyons for our first Utah ski weekend. Wonderful service from the over-​the-​phone reservations clerk – we called only 24 hours in advance and they still got us the skis we wanted, even though you actually need to call 72 hours in advance.
Their prices were very reasonable, especially for an on-​mountain rental shop. It is $ 18/​day for the gold (beginner), $ 26/​day silver (int.) or $ 34/​day for bronze (top of the line) rentals. They also offer complimentary overnight storage. I would definitely recommend them!
