Specialties

The Orange Lantern is Bergan County’s go-to sports bar with a long list of beers on tap and the mouth-watering bar food you crave. Stop in for a drink and enjoy crowd pleasers like chicken wings, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and our thin crust or pan pizzas. Some of our classics include the Philly Cheesesteak, The Cuban Burger and our Wing Platter including 24 wings and your choice of two sauces. We’re open late, every night ’till 3 AM so you can be sure you won’t go hungry after a long evening out.

Stop by for happy hour through the week from 5 till 8 PM, with an extra hour on Friday beginning at 4. The bar has several TV’s playing all the big games along with NHL and NFL DirectTV packages, and we have additional bar specials during select games. The Orange Lantern has all kinds of other fun entertainment through the week including Texas Hold ‘Em Poker tournaments, Joe Trivia, and Karaōke. We have live music three nights a week featuring some of the area’s best local acts.

We’ve been part of the Paramus community since 1933, serving generations of patrons and supplying great times and memories all around. We’re excited for you to join the crowd at The Orange Lantern, and we will see you soon!

History

Established in 1933.

Now in the third generation of Faatz family ownership, The Orange Lantern was purchased by Grandpa Herman after he sold his milk business, Paramus Dairy, in 1933. The existing gas station, package store, and bar were converted to a bar and restaurant — known as The Orange Lantern.

Shortly thereafter, Grandpa Herman died and son Eugene «Bus» gained control, running The Orange Lantern until retirement in the 1980s. That’s when Gene, the current owner, took over.

Although it’s not known exactly who will take over when Gene retires, Gene’s grandson (Grandpa Herman’s great, great grandson) Stephen looks like a good candidate.
