Best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. The ambiance is cool kind of a young crowd. Packed on football Sunday. Ordered the brew house burger with BBQ on the side. The burger was great and cooked to order. The fries on the other hand have asiago cheese on them and make them very poignant and have a strong smell. Also had the skirt steak skewers which were great. An order had about 4 – 5 pieces and the chimichurri sauce was so tasty. I wouldn’t recommend the mac and cheese bites. The batter was too much and actual Mac and cheese a bit bland. For dessert went with the fried banana split which was awesome. As for drinks– ordered the thyme blueberry drink. Very strong flavor and executed well but not something I’d order again. The service and waiters were very nice but I did notice a lot of other people’s appetizers were coming out at the same time of the food. I assume because of football Sunday and being busy. Overall– I’d go back and do recommend.

You realize that there is only Valet parking when pulling up to the restaurant. I chose to park myself next store, not a good start to a new place to have only valet. Not everyone wants to pay to park. Problem number one for me was that I had called on Monday to ask if I could reserve an area for a large party coming in on Friday. I was told no, but could come in early to get a large area. Okay, that’s what I did. But to the host and hostess that was there on that night they seemed clueless as to where to put us. We were put in the large u-shaped both that had no real tables. Just three small stools for drinks and appetizers. So, the whole time my party had to basically stand up to talk and eat our food. We were in front of other tables, getting in the way of the staff, and trying to avoid other patrons walking to and from the bathroom. Not a good experience. Food was decent, but over priced. Their bacon appetizer was tasty, but for the price of six small pieces, it was not worth it. All there other appetizers we had were good, but not flavorful. The drinks seem to be the only thing that was okay. A halfway decent selection of beer was nice to see. also, if you’re into TV’s everywhere an eye can see, this place is for you. Just don’t want to come here for a conversation. The noise level is deafening. It gets so loud at one point, you need a megaphone just to talk to your friends. Our waiter was actually good at his job. Very attentive and friendly. The biggest problem I had was with the host and hostess not being able to handle their job. Also, the fact that I was lied to about the reservations. I saw two different tables being reserved for eight and four people. I was told we could not do that, someone is not explaining what the truth is. By the end of the night, the place was so packed, I felt very claustrophobic. I’ll never come back to such a poorly run, overpriced, and just okay place, again. There are so many more restaurants to frequent than this gaudy brew house.

It really deserves a 3.5 but I’ll give it a 4 because it’s not quite deserving of a 3. First thing to note is that there’s mandatory and free valet service which makes it a little weird if you’re just coming here with a bro. I’m sure there’s street parking somewhere and that might be what I decide to do next time but I thought you guys should know before coming here. In terms of drinks, it’s not a bad selection but it’s somewhat leaving from what I expect from a place that calls themselves a brew house. In terms of food, my friend and I had the wings and they were pretty good. Not crazy good but they were tasty enough. The atmosphere was nice, though. I’d come here again and I’d recommend others to come here too but don’t expect too much from it.

My boyfriend wanted to try it out so decided to give it a go. First of all, I love the mandatory vallet parking. This allows more cars to get parked since the lot is small. Also it’s nice to know our cars are kept an eye out on. This makes it nice in the winter too. Ironically went a day it was raining. Was nice to get out and run into the resturant. I do agree with another Unilocal reviewer– a coat check would be helpful for this type of bar/resturant. It’s def nicer than a lot of bars in the area. 2 floors which is nice. I was there when a seperate party was being held upstairs though so couldn’t see it. I liked the seating area, very open and casual but still nice and clean. Staff was very friendly too. They have an extensive selection of drinks. I thought it was cool that their beer menu was on a tablet that they give you so you can look and see the exact ingredients and history of it. The food menu I believe should maybe have some more options. I’m not a picky eater but I suppose you can say I can be selective. They have the basics, pizza, burgers, apps. But that is actually why I took one star away. I was craving all night a chicken sandwich and they didn’t have it. I feel like a lot of places have chicken as an option. That’s just an example but certain things you think they would have they didn’t. Service was fast which really made me happy for a Thursday. I was able to get in, have a drink, enjoy time with my boyfriend and have a good meal and get out pretty quickly. I reccomend this place, but once again — hope they open up their menu a little more.

I went on a Saturday ½/16 to see 2 cover bands, but first I want to say that this place looks amazing lots of Flat Screen Tv’s to watch your favorite sports teams. The 1st floor is the bar and sitting area for dinnner. 2nd Floor they have another bar and a beautiful fireplace and sitting area for dinner. They have Valet parking if you need it. The food is pretty good. Going back to that night If Midland Brew is going to cover $ 10.00 to see 2 cover bands, my only suggestion is that they need to install a camera and disignate couple of TV’s for people that can actually see the band. That night was so packed and I couldn’t see the band. Plus they had a PPVUFC Fight. But, Overall the place is nice when is a normal night, Because the services in the 1st floor is Horrible due to the fact is jam packed that night. The servers is the best way to go if you going to sit and order food.

Made my first visit to MBH tonight 1÷9÷16 and can honestly say I will add this to my list of go to restaurants in the Paramus area. When I first arrived I was surprised to see the mandatory valet parking. That along with the exterior design of the building gave me a hint that MBH is a step above other craft beer centered restaurants. The clean, trendy appearance continued inside where a large bar is centered in the middle of a two-story seating area. Since it was our first visit my guest and I ordered simple, straight forward meals consisting of the«MBH Burger» and the pulled pork sandwich — both were very good. The beer menu is impressive not only because it is contained on an iPad but also because it offers a wide variety of local and regional craft beers. More traditional mainstream beers are available but I opted for the Allagash White from Maine. I will be returning here with a larger group to check out the bar and my feeling is that it will be on par with all other aspects of the restaurant. There was a line and a wait to be seated when we were leaving so getting there early might be a wise choice.

Drinks were good and beer selection was nice but this place needs major improvements. I wasn’t aware that they opened about 4 months ago, so hence my three stars, I want to be a tad understanding. The bar is considered a sports/lounge bar. But the music the DJ was playing says different. All night house/techno music, needs to be changed up. no one was dancing. Place is huge, two floors, lots of t.v.s which yes that states sports bar. Mixed drinks are over priced but for the most part were very delish. I ordered one of the drinks off the menu which was The real hard cider, first bartender made it great, tasted amazing. I order another with a different bartender and it tasted completely off… I was confused I even asked her are you sure this is the drink and she responded yea I’m sorry but thats it. Was awfully and poorly made, it was Jameson and flat cider yuck, there was no bitters, lemon or ginger taste to it. Also bartenders, please do not over charge for the drinks when the prices are stated in the the menu. The blueberry thyme Collins is $ 10, bartender charged $ 12 for it. We asked umm how much are these he said $ 12, not cool at all. Free valet yay awesome! but no coat check for the amounts of people that come to this establishment. People were leaving their coats on random chairs etc. Also something that weirded me out was seeing security asking people if they can get up from their seats by the bar so they can take the chairs away. I’m assuming maybe for more room for people to stand by the bar. But if that’s the case don’t have chairs by the bar, because asking people to get up is very very rude. Seating was very limited upstairs, but I noticed some empty space on the side that they can definitely add a couple more small round tables with chairs. I would love to go back, I hope some improvements are made, also hope not to get ripped off by made up drink prices.

Eehhhh. This is the perfect word to describe this place. It starts right away when you pull up to the mandatory valet. Kind of weird, they treat the place like it’s a fancy restaurant in Upper Saddle River, not saddle brook. They have great beers on tap. If I wanted to try a bunch of craft beers one night you’ll find me here. However, each one is about $ 7 a piece. Food is a little below average to tell you the truth. Not terrible, but certainly forgettable. Don’t come here for dinner. A lunch with two beers costed me $ 28. And one of them was a bud light! That’s laughable. A suggestion– Go to Plank Pizza Co instead. They even have wine on tap for the ladies. And no, I am not being paid to market for them.

First off this place has an excellent selection of beer on tap, but beyond that it is just an okay bar. The food is overpriced, and just okay, the craft beer is fairly priced, and they only have valet, who does that. They think they are some upscale bar in NY, when in reality they are across the street from Bennigans in Saddle Brook. Our server was awesome and very friendly. I have nothing really positive to say about the food, it was average.

I’m not a fan of valet parking unless I’m going to a fancy dinner or the weather is compromising. I don’t like strangers driving my car let alone have to tip to park at an average bar. Anyhow, the bar itself is large and spacious with numerous TV’s, great for game and fight nights. Ironically, they have so many TV’s that some point to the wall yet they wouldn’t change the channel for me. hmm interesting. For the beer list, you have to go on there website to see what they offer, which is a bit of an inconvenience if your phone is dying or don’t have a smart phone to begin with. Food was alright, the burger was juicy but not filling even with the fries. The skirt steak was like eating rubber but a descent appetizer portion. The chimichurri on the side was made with 90% vinegar and 10% herb’s, it was extremely hard to eat with such a big tang. Service. No one cared. No one checked on us, asked if we wanted a drink or food, just an utter lack of care in the world. Too bad because it is a nice place, but I’ll never return.

I have to say, I’m not a fan of this place. 1) You need to valet your car. 2) The credit card minimum is $ 15. 3) There is often a cover fee if a game is playing($ 10 the other night for the UFC Fight). It gets loud and hard to hear the people you are with. And worst of all, the service is HORRIBLE. Very hard to get a drink. The bartenders go out of their way to avoid eye contact with you. I even gave this place a second shot. I won’t be coming back.

Nice bar and great cocktails! My bartender was very attentive and he made us some amazing cocktails. A friend and I showed up about 8:30pm on a Friday and it was quite busy there. After roaming around for a bit we did manage to get seats at the bar. We can’t say too much about the waiter service but our bartender was great! He told us about drinks that were off the menu. Whenever our glass was empty he was ready to refill, even with our waters. The pumpkin latte was delicious! It’s made with pumpkin spiced whiskey, Rum Chata, and Kahlua. We also had the cucumber gin cocktail and that was quite refreshing. Someone else had the 1933 which comes with flaming orange peel. They really do take their time to garnish and present the cocktails so it’s quite fun to sit at the bar and watch. They also have an extensive beer menu for you to pick from. Food wise — we only order appetizers. I got the short ribs mini tacos and they were pretty tasty. I’ve seen a lot of other people order the sliders and they looked great. Atmosphere is pretty lively. The music got a bit loud later in the night so we had to raise our voice when we talked. They don’t have a DJ. Just Pandora. So you can’t really request songs. But overall the music was pretty good. Not sure why all the bad reviews on Unilocal.I had a great time at this place. Perhaps they had a bit of a rough start after opening and it took a while to straighten out the kinks and get adjusted. It is also a nicer place to have a night out in Jersey, not just a typical dive bar. Side note — it is valet parking only but it’s free.

My husband and I have been waiting for months for the place to open! We live super close and were driving by everyday, waiting for that grand opening sign to go up and finally it opened a couple months ago. Since then, my husband have been back a few times. Let’s start with the atmosphere! Aside from being huge, the inside is awesome. So many tv’s, a lot of seating, two bars, a fire place, a dance floor, a brick oven, floor to ceiling windows, etc. The food, delicious. I know some other reviews state that they’ve had better and the food could use some work, but, I will say this, my husband and I happened to meet one of the three owners and they shared that they come a long way since opening back in September and have made changes to their menu based on the feedback they have received. Personally, I think that says a lot. They obviously value their customers opinion and will do whatever they need to, to make sure that their customers wants/thoughts/needs are being heard. That itself, deserves a star. We’ve eaten there a few times and have sampled everything from the burgers, to the pizza, to the bacon sticks! We have not had a bad meal yet. The bacon comes with a trio of sauces, all delicious, the burgers are ginormous, the fries, awesome, and the pizza, well, just like everything else, also delicious! Looking for something to drink, to go along with your meal, have no fear, their beer menu is pretty extensive(48 beers on tap, plus bottled beer). Definitely stop in, grab a bite, a drink and watch a game! Enjoy!

I really wanted to love this place but I have to say I have very mixed reviews about it. We visited last night for the first time after hearing many people talk about it since before it even opened. I am going to write about all aspects of my visit: The vibe-It was definitely a mixed crowd of ages but I feel that there were a lot of «older» people in the crowd and at the bar. Like middle-aged, parents of teenagers. There were definitely people in my age range(early 30’s) as well but a noticeable amount from both age groups. I don’t know if it was just because of the Mets’ position in the playoffs that night but the vibe from everyone was all about the Mets because it just so happened that last night was the night they clinched their spot in the World Series so a lot of people were there for that. The staff-This is one area that really fell short. I felt that almost all of the staff was very impersonal throughout the night. We were there for almost 5 hours and never had more than a 2 sentence exchange with our bartender. The bartenders in general were just slightly inattentive all night. I do appreciate that there was a big crowd there, but they had very ample staff that should have been more than capable of covering all their ground. There was also a huge miscommunication between the serving staff and the kitchen staff all night. Countless times there were food items brought to the bar area and none of the servers knew where the food belonged. I saw more than one person get served the wrong item. This didn’t happen to us, but we were sitting at an area of the bar where all of the servers came in and out, and where all the food was brought from the kitchen so we saw every error that was made over the course of the night in this regard. I also noticed that much of the staff had little knowledge of the beers on tap. In a craft beer bar, I feel that this is almost a requirement of the staff. The food-I had heard many raving reviews about the food and I can say it was decent. I was not blown away by any one single item, but I was definitely please. We ordered 4 different menu items. We had the Mac N Cheese bites, which went very well with the sauce that they came with. The corn nuggets we ordered were very yummy, stuffed with a mixture of corn and cheese(yum!). We had the spicy steak tips which were very good, very flavorful. And we ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza. I do like that they use real, fresh mozzarella on the pizza here. I was ogling every single pizza that came out from the pizza ovens. The décor-I did really like the way this bar is set up. There are two levels but both are able to see the bar TV’s because there are two tiers of televisions. That was really awesome. I did not like how the beer selection was only able to be viewed on tv screens that changed before you had a chance to read each item on the page. We spent the night scrolling through the website on our phone trying to figure out what beers we wanted to try. It was a shame because there were tons of really good beers on tap, but those screens were the only way to find out about them. I wonder if it’s just because this place only recently opened, and maybe they haven’t figured out a cool way to have a beer menu. But these screens should definitely not be the only way to view it. I had a really great time here, but that was very largely due to the Mets camaraderie that was palpable all night. I would certainly visit again to watch another sporting event, because it definitely serves its purpose as a sports bar, however I can really only give 3 stars because of all the hiccups we experienced here.

I wanted to hate MBH for the hype alone surrounding the opening of this place and then even more pissed when i came in here one night and i couldn’t get a table for over an hour but half the restaurant was closed!!! I was super tight about it to say the least and completely turned off about the place just like most reviews on here. Wanting to be one of the cool kids, i put my bitterness aside and my girlfriend and i returned one Friday for dinner around 5 pm. I figured i could beat the crowd. Had to valet my car, annoying but not a deal breaker. Service: After being seated, our waiter(Jason?) was very attentive. He got us our beers quickly and was ready at any moment to take our order. He continuously returned to the table to check that everything was good or if we needed anything else. He was a real professional. He was not just concerned about himself about the service he provided and asked what we thought about the restaurant. I love the fact he was concentrated on process improvement and the bigger picture and not just his job alone. His attitude and the things he told us MBH was going to change was everything i wanted to hear. Its good to see they are taking advice from their customers and want to make this place the best it could possibly be. Food: We ordered the sesame chicken skewers, mac and cheese bites, and the carnivore pizza. Everything great, i honestly have no complaints about a single thing. Some of the chicken was a bit under cooked but the rest was fine. The pizza tasted great, the mac and cheese bites were phenomenal and i liked the dipping sauce. The prices may be high but you are paying for quality. This place has the the right idea. Ticket times were good as well. Cleanliness: Everything was spotless. Did not see anything out of place. Bathrooms were very clean and smelled fantastic. Even with my initial hate i had for this place, the MBH staff and service was able to turn around the crappy experience i had the first time walking in. The hostess station always seems to be surrounded by employees and they look sort of stressed at all times so they could clean that up for sure. The fact i NEED to valet park too is awful, that is why this place is getting 4 stars. Other than the parking this place really is amazing and these reviews, including my past one which was half joking half serious, are really tough. In another 3 weeks when you stop in this place will have you changing those poor reviews really quickly, i can guarantee it. They are just figuring out everything still, clearly. I will absolutely be back and i would absolutely recommend this place! UPDATE: Went back for a 3rd time and service was VERY. OK. Our waitress was new and she was being trained by another employee but after the first 15 min we never saw either of them again. Other bus boys and servers walking by got us the stuff we neeedd and took our plates away. We just got the bill from them, kind of annoying to tip someone who didn’t do anything but bring us drinks. Service compared to last time really slacked, that guy Jason we had was awesome, he was serving other tables near us i saw. Food– Burger was gross. I would never order it again. There are many many burger places around here so there’s some steep competition. Very disappointed but its fine, there’s other good stuff on the menu. Definitely had to drop my review to 3 stars. Just too much inconsistency at this point still

Had to find out what all the excitement was about, all the bad vs amazing reviews. One reviewer rates 5 stars but has only one review shows me they are probably a friend of the owner or management, another expresses hatred probably for the same reason lol. I don’t know anyone, So here is my unbiased review Yes there was valet parking but that really doesn’t bother me. Just one note to Mgmt. Put up a tent or awning outside so your customers waiting for their cars don’t get soaked in the rain. Saw that going on during Friday rush hour. Also viewed a few parking attendants nearly get run over crossing Midland in the rain at rush hour. Maybe you need to rethink that system before someone gets hurt Don’t like to wait for a table at a new restaurant then get there early Saturday night 5 pm did the trick for us. Promptly seated. We were a party of 4 and tried the onion soup, good but not amazing, the spicy fillet tips… Very Amazing ! Beet Salad excellent. Pizza got an «I’ve had better rating». Ribs were good but he was annoyed that he had to cut them in pieces himself, so I would request they come cut if you order, French toast with dipping sauces for dessert went over big and they gave a different take on the Banana split with fried bananas wrapped in won tons. Like everything in life, one liked it one didn’t. Would I go back? Yes, for the spicy steak tips alone! I don’t drink beer, I could care less about sports unless it’s Olympic ice skating but it’s close to home, I know what I like now and hats off to our waitress who was courteous, patient and«present» I on, y wish I could remember her name.(Nicole?). Not sure. Hostess was pretty lackluster. I inquired about private parties and was given a tour upstairs, Their party room is not yet ready(furnished) and is only being utilized for huge overflow during big football games only after 9 pm. No menu for catering available yet so I will have to go elsewhere for my company Xmas party with no set date the manager was very helpful and courteous during their busy dinner service and was happy to provide a tour. So although 3 stars from me, those damn steak tips get a 5 star rating Awesome! I’ll be planning a few happy hours with my work crew and see if my rating changes as they get through the next few months. As others have said, let’s give them a chance to work out the kinks

Note: This review was for opening night only… but I came back a second time and my thoughts aren’t much different! As we were pulling up we see strobe lights, interesting… reminded me of Mondo Burger grand opening. Super annoying valet parking. I really hope this valet deal isn’t all the time. I like at least having the option of valeting or not, which wasn’t the case. What really got my mad was that I parked across the street and they announced my license over the loud speaker(along with others) so that we can move our cars. At first I was delighted that they did this thinking that I might be towed or something. Then I realize the lot I parked in was the lot they were valeting cars! Keeping in mind they weren’t blocking anyone in because the lot had PLENTY of room. This honestly pissed me off a great deal!!! The scene was fun, but way too«jersey shore» for me. All walks of life were there — young, old, fancy, casual, etc. The music was so loud I couldn’t hear my friends talk. Maybe that was just for opening night, but it felt like a confused bar that also wanted to be a club. The beer selection was good and it was cold. The service wasn’t amazing, but it was opening night so I definitely don’t blame them for that. TVs outside were cool and the place is very spacious. I would come back on an off night and try the food. I would like to give them another shot to see if my first impression was just a one time deal, but overall I didn’t really enjoy myself aside from my company. They def need some couches and a pool table stat! UPDATE: Did come back, never again… The valet has got to stop.

Hope they get their act together, because opening night was pretty chaotic. They have some decent craft beer selections mixed in with your typical mass produced brews. except you can’t get most of the really interesting craft brews at the upstairs bar. 2 hour wait for a table on opening night which is what I would expect. however, we tried again around 9:20 to put our names in for a table, only to be told they were no longer seating. Really? That seems a bit early to me. I may be back once the rush is over and I hope the experience improves.

More of a 2.5. OK beer selection, although only half of it is available upstairs, I can understand that. Bro-tastic clientele? Not really their fault(although the environment might breed it). The big problem? This bar doesn’t serve food at the bar. What’s up with that? You get to sit at the bar, 12 feet from the kitchen, watching food come out to others, without the possibility of being able to eat here. Closed my tab at the bar and went to the hostess stand after I got too hungry to have another beer, they’d lstopped serving a little after 9pm. No matter, I went down the road the Plank Pizza bar, they have a better beer list — and most importantly– they were able to give me food at the bar!
