Everyone in this school is full of shit also extremely dirty the same recycling in the back of the school as been filled to the top since i started. most of the teachers are just here they can keep a job seriously they act as if they own the place. all the teachers are on the same side sobif some thing happens right or wrong your always wrong.. if your into shit like boarding school than come to Capri otherwise turn the other way immediately!!!

Horrible school. For the short time I was there, I was not taught anything. I learned more from reading the text books.
I had to leave due to a medical leave of absence. I had all the forms properly filled out and notes from doctors. This was fine until I decided not to return. I was told I would only be billed for my time there, but they billed me for hours I wasn’t and all there erroneous fees. They then sent my account to collections without ever sending me a bill. There are better beauty schools in this areas. Go anywhere else first.

Parking: Yes.
The outside of the building is covered in Ivy… this should be the first sign to turn around. The building is old and has been forgotten.
The 2 «student kits» are not what you hope. It comes with basic essentials to get you by. You end up buying your own tools anyway. There’s not many souvenirs.
—- * keep the Marcel iron. (Totally ridiculous to use at first but good. Plus it’s what professionals use in some salons.)
The online website for rehearsal textbook expires in one year. You’ll pay to renew it. $ 20
The curriculum lacks formality.
School runs out of materials.
EX: haircolor, gel, & gloves.
Senior floor is good practice… learn the techniques from the salon you start working at and try them there. Do as many blow outs as you can.
There’s a few diamond in rough teachers but all in all they are only there to prepare you for the licensing exam.
Do your research when choosing a school. like heavy research.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I was in the esthetics program a few years ago, and can attest that my classmates and I had a similarly terrible education due to the teachers, office staff and corporate office. Shortly after graduating college, I chose a career in skin care. I chose Capri in Paramus for location and price. And boy did I pay for it! My first 4 months of school, our teacher had us sit in a tiny room to read our textbooks while she worked hands on with her «seniors» to prepare for the state boards. After spending thousands of dollars on tuition, I decided to leave my full time job to move to the day class with the day teacher who had a reputation for being strict. Yes! I needed strict; I needed to succeed and master my skills and was so excited to start. Turns out she was also nasty mannered, demeaning and a bully. I was there to learn period, not to be treated like a piece of dirt. When I reported this treatment to higher ups (corporate) 3 of them verbally attacked me in a meeting and advised that I was not allowed to get a refund or transfer to another school. I was not able to file a business bureau complaint because they were a private school. Money doesn’t grow on trees, so I continued to be verbally abused until I graduated. I have since got my NY license as well, worked at the high end spas in the area and went on to open my own small business on the Hudson. And they said I «just didn’t have the passion» to be in this profession. Just because I am not as outgoing as others, hardly interprets to having a lack of passion. Please do your own research before giving any money to a school and staff that does not deserve it and leaves you unprepared for the real world of the beauty industry. I wish I went to Persian School in Hackensack. Good luck girls! I wonder if they still play Enya over and over… lol

Do not, do not choose Capri for cosmetology training. A month after my daughter registered for classes at one of their locations they announced they were closing the location at the end of the year. They gave her the option of traveling over an hour to another location or rushing through her hours. She choose to rush through her hours and is now praying she will pass the state boards.
I suspect they were fully aware that they were going to close the location, but continued to accept students anyway.
The teachers were terrible and I went to beauty school so I know good from bad.
This school should be sued for what they have put some of the student through and I am still considering hiring an attorney.
