Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia

Wow. This place is pure bliss. From the beds, to the robes, to the views, to the pools, to the staff, to the entertainment… It is truly five star. He a wonderful reception for a wedding we attended, and I just can’t say enough good things about this resort. It’s in a great location and backs up to camelback mountain. The drinks at the hotel bars are very expensive ($ 17 for a mojito), but ya wanna know what it was worth it. Come here for a relaxing vacation.

Very impressed with the resort overall. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and always welcoming each time we arrived back «home.» The room, restaurants and public areas were clean. Conveniently located to golf courses, hiking trails, restaurants and old town.

I’ve had the pleasure to stay at the Montelucia twice. To say that it’s relaxing is an understatement. The adult pool is very peaceful and features a hot tub cranked up to a delightfully toasty temperature. The 24-​hour gym provides a great way to burn off a few of the calories you’ll devour from one of their delicious restaurants and room service options. The spa is also a wonderful escape from the rat race of life, and the rooftop pool and patio are tranquil and serene.
Rooms are lush, clean, and comfortable. I enjoyed having hot chocolate in the mornings on my patio that offered a view of Camelback mountain. The bathrooms are luxurious and are quite like a spa on their own.
Of course, this place isn’t cheap, however sometimes they’ll offer discounted rates in the summer or around Thanksgiving time. As a schoolteacher, I certainly don’t have to means to come here as much as I’d like, however when I can save up my pennies to do a staycation, the Montelucia is high up on my list of nominees.
My only ding is that some of the staff in the lobby really could care less about being helpful with the check-​in and checkout process or with recommending things to do in the area. For the money I’ve paid to stay there, I would think the least they could do would be to be friendly, even if they didn’t know how to answer my inquiries… attitude is everything. The housekeeping staff, though friendly, doesn’t attend to the rooms in a timely fashion. On my last stay at the Montelucia, twice I left the sign on my door before 9 am for housekeeping to clean my room, and I didn’t come back to my room until after 2 pm both times to find my room not yet cleaned. So that was pretty frustrating. When the service doesn’t seem like they care that your business pays their salary, it doesn’t make you feel like giving them the business which is a shame since the Montelucia is such a beautiful place in the best part of the Valley.

I’ve stayed at the Montelucia probably 10 – 12 times. Let me just say, it has NEVER disappointed me or any of my family members. It’s beautiful, the rooms are always in great condition, and the service is truly excellent. I love it so much so, that I am getting married here in a few months! Everyone I have dealt with has been nothing but a pleasure. They really have the greatest staff! Courtney in catering is the BEST and makes you feel like family immediately. I cannot wait for the wedding and will update my review then!

Great place to get away and get rejuvenated. Close enough to everything but you feel secluded. The location is terrific as it is backed yo to Camelback mountain. Give it a shot and go get your Mojo back.

Great service and great ambience. I recently visited for a work conference. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every department. The mountain views were phenomenal.

This is a perfect example of how big corporate hotels don’t have a clue in term in terms of hospitality. We considered booking the Montelucia for Spring Break. I’ve stayed there previously and thought it might be fun for the kids. Here’s why I won’t be coming back:
We’re a family of four with two young kids so just need connecting rooms. Central reservations said «all our rooms are connecting.» When I called the local property I was told only 60 are, but they won’t guarantee them. After speaking to the manager she said «I won’t designate any connecting rooms now since your stay is two months out, by that time we’ll sell out». So the hotel «could» opt to honor our request, but they just choose not to because it’s more convenient for them.
So my experience with the Omni Montelucia is the call center (almost) mislead us dearly, and the local management team is too concerned about macro booking optimization than to allow a family the security of being together on vacation.

«Understanding the distinction between service and hospitality has been at the foundation of our success. Service is the technical delivery of a product. Hospitality is how the delivery of that product makes its recipient feel. Service is a monologue – we decide how we want to do things and set our own standards for service. Hospitality, on the other hand, is a dialogue. To be on a guest’s side requires listening to that person with every sense, and following up with a thoughtful, gracious, appropriate response. It takes both great service and great hospitality to rise to the top.»

From checking in to checking out customer service was great. Our room was big and spacious with a beautiful view of camelback mountain. Spa was great and so is the restaurant downstairs.

I brought my cousin to this spa and we had an awful experience because there was a private party booked right after our appointments. The staff told us that we had to leave because they were closing early for a private party and that they wouldn’t have enough time to complete our pedicures. We were surprised and disappointed, and while that day didn’t go so well. The spa is so beautiful and I thought we would give them another chance.
I am giving them five stars because of Steven and because it’s a stunning spa! When I called to book our appointments and I told steven what happened last time, he handled it so well. He made me feel better and we booked 6 more appointments for my mom, dad, cousin, and myself. He made me feel like that experience was an anomaly and when we went back everything was wonderful.
Thank you Steven for your five star service. This spa is really beautiful and I would definitely recommend it.

My bf surprised me w a couples massage here and it was amazing. The ambiance is perfect. I loved their Moroccan themed décor. The staff was really nice and the massages were great. We didn’t get to spend time in the pool or anything since it was a little cold and had engagements after, but I heard its fantastic. Overall a great experience! Would definitely recommend for special occasions!

After my absolutely lovely baby shower at the Arizona Country Club, some of the girls (and guys) wanted a little something more, so we headed to the Montelucia for some live music and drinks (I had water, lots of water, since I was pregnant of course.)
Anecdotally, when POTUS came to Phoenix in 2009 he stayed here. Kind of amusing because the Biltmore is usually the hotel of choice given it’s rich history etcetera. However, once I saw where POTUS stayed and given back in 2009 the Biltmore was in dire need of some renovating and general updating, I can see why.
Nevertheless, the downstairs Prado and accompanying bar are a perfect place for friends to meet for happy hour, or have a full on meal made up of amazing tapas to include traditional Spanish style tapas. What I love the most however, is the live music, and the flow of how the bar tables and chairs are all seated so conveniently to the musicians. You can choose to either enjoy the music right on the dance floor or still enjoy the live music feel over at the bar tables. The food and service are always good.
On several occasions I have also attended fashion shows and other special events here and the Montelucia never disappoints. Even if you don’t enjoy the hotel for an overnight, do stop and enjoy this beautiful bit of Spanish love and architectural design in the desert. It was good enough for POTUS, it is good enough for you.

Was here for several nights attending a Genius Network event. Getting in late (in the dark) I thought it might be hard to find the lobby at night but it is literally just a jog to the left as soon as you turn into the main entrance. Check in was quick and efficient. When they took me to my room via a gold cart I thought it would be a long walk back to the lobby area (where the ballrooms are) but it was oddly close — I guess the mismatch in my brain was the gold cart taking the ‘road’ as opposed to the walking path.
The resort itself has a wonderful feel to it. Citrus trees all over the place on the grounds, nice variety of buildings arranged in such a way that makes it feel like an old village (with modern construction) rather than a coldly laid out resort.
The ballrooms worked well for the conference and all of the service through check out was great. The lounge shuts down a little too early in my mind but the restaurant stays open a little later.

Not off to a good start but wait they mote than made up for it.
I booked here because they said they could get me in to a room early. I needed a noon check in and no problem they said so I booked. Not so much when I got here so I called guest relations and the girl was over the top helpful. Got me onto a room right away and upgraded us to suite.
We were there for anniversary and while we were out at the pool they delivered champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
Everyone is very friendly and the place is very clean and old world feel.
I like the smaller feel of the facility. We have stayed at the Phoenician and the four Seasons they are great places but are a bit on the larger size I would compare this more to the four Seasons.
It was a great stay.

I haven’t been back here since it became an Omni resort but our stay was just as excellent as usual. We were celebrating our anniversary and we received a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was amazing! I love how peaceful and resorty the feel is. The grounds are well taken care of, it’s pretty quiet, and everything feels luxurious! Our room was always cleaned when we left and I love the pool with its view of camelback mountain. The pool drink menu also offers very creative cocktails and service was good even though it was really busy when we went. I always feel more relaxed after staying here and so far it’s my favorite place to stay in Arizona.

Love this resort and spa. Stay and play here regularly and always love it. Fabulous accommodations, gorgeous Iocation and excellent service! The Joys Spa is the BEST in town. Not only is the Moroccan atmosphere unique, but I’ve never had a less than wonderful treatment. Took my mom for spa day yesterday for her birthday and it was the best experience. The salon also does GREAT hair. Had a blow out in less than 30 min and it looked gorge!

Very gorgeous (Moroccan inspired?) spa. The facilities were large and very very nice. We had a bachelorette party here an had a package with a 50 min service of our choice, a $ 15 food voucher (which was enough for a meal) and champagne. They greeted us with bath bombs in the shape of cute little cupcakes for the bridal party!
They reserved us a table for lunch out in the pool deck but in the heat wave it definitely wasn’t covered, had anything misters, or any shade. We opted to use two small tables right in the entrance instead. For such a nice spa I would think they’d invest in misters and some more umbrellas! The pool was also very small and lacked the fountain of adding new cold water, therefore the pool was way too hot to be refreshing. And the pool wasn’t necessarily the cleanest either — it had a ton of sand at the bottom and the service at the pool area was slow.
The service and facility for everything else was great! They had nice rooms for the messages and facials. A nice social lounge area and a quiet area with tempurpedic beds for rest. There was a cold bath, a hot tub (wish there was a cold tub), a sauna, a steam room, a gym, etc. The décor and walkways were definitely really nice and unique. My deep tissue massage was pretty amazing and the other girls loved their services as well.
I think if they worked on their pool area and some refreshing options for the summer heat, it’ll be perfect. The food options were also pretty healthy. Not the most amazing food but it works. And they’re right on time for appointments — always a plus to be super punctual!

My GF and I stayed here recently for training for work. Upon arrival, we opted to park our rental ourselves. Checking in was fast and painless with Michael’s assistance. We had help from the bellboy to drive us to our car with the golf cart and transport our luggage to our room. Without his help, I’m pretty sure we would have wondered around aimlessly due to the immense size of this resort.
Now more about our room. The bed was extremely comfortable. One of the best I’ve ever slept in. The restroom was huge! By far the biggest sink counter top we’ve had at any hotels. Which is definitely a plus for GF and I. The walk-​in shower was a cool addition. The view from our bed/​balcony was breath taking due to The Camelback Mountains. Despite all the nice things we noticed, we had a little hick-​up during our first couple of hours of stay, but the hotel was kind enough to compensate us and upgraded our room for us. There was an issue with the AC so we can only imagine how hot it was inside our room. Michael was on top of things and sent a bellboy to help relocate us to the next room.
We hardly stayed in our room during our stay since we were always out, but room service was perfect. Everything was put back the way it was. Our bed was made. Dirty towels were exchanged for new ones.
I needed some paperwork faxed and Allison at the front desk was very helpful.
During our stay, there were not any kids running around so the place was pretty quiet. Even the pool area seemed dead. However, I can only imagine this place when it is at its’ peak season. Overall, the resort is beautiful. Top notch and world class service from the staff. I highly recommend you to stay here whether you are one of the locals needing a place for a stay-​cation or a businessman or woman from out of town.

This has got to be one of the greatest experiences I have ever had at a Hotel Resort. Outstanding service.

Oh Montelucia, how I love thee.
This is one of my favorite resorts in town. I snatch up those staycation deals by the handful when they are announced.
The views? To die for. The tranquility, the ambiance, you name it. I feel like I’m back in Spain/​Morocco actually. The rooms all have a lanai or balcony where you can relax, the bathrooms in the rooms? oh man. The walk in showers and the deep tubs that you can swim in are indulgent to say the least.
Service is always impeccable and the restaurants are delicious. The first restaurant/​bar on grounds has a GREAT happy hour and the valley’s best hummus. That $ 5 hummus plate is ridiculously good!!!
Tip: there is an adult only pool in the back that is much more quiet than the main pool.

Recently stayed at this resort and had a great time!
Pros:
— It’s absolutely beautiful — and feels like an oasis.
— The staff were extremely attentive and on top of their game.
— Walk in showers are awesome!
— Beds are some of the best I’ve ever slept in.
Cons:
— Was annoyed that one of the pools was closed for a private event. Seems like paying guests should have access to all areas or be told up front.

A heavenly getaway in Paradise Valley! I heard that Omni purchased the iconic Montelucia in early 2014, we stayed before than but I can only imagine what world class amenities are now even more enriched at the Montelucia. The grounds of the resort are very attractive and is a great location and walking distance from Camelback Mountain and all the shopping & dining that Scottsdale has to offer, a Triple Bonus! The resort reminds me of a Spanish Village with cute little boutiques and cafes and lovely dining amenities.
Serene fountains and colorful elements of the surrounding areas will surely make you feel your in heaven for a weekend. They have 3 pools on premises, Im not a pool person but was there for a friends birthday weekend, so the «Cabana» did the trick for me.
Excellent staff who were attentive & friendly whether at the pool or the MBar and dining. The resort rooms are modern with breathtaking views, however Egyptian bedding really made for a peaceful evening, so comfy and plush!
I certainty yearn for my Spanish retreat and hopefully it will be soon!
MONTELUCIA~~~La Vida es Bella

I recently stayed here for a marketing conference for work and it was a wonderful location, plus the staff was great. Aaron (one of the bell hop staff members) was a great help and very informative.
Although I was on a business trip I do like to venture out and the hotel has a complimentary trolley which takes you where the mall in Scottsdale is. From there you can catch other free trolleys and explore the old town and downtown areas. It’s really great if you don’t have a car.
Throughout my stay our conference meals were all catered by the hotel and they were all very delicious and healthy. I definitely applaud them for not sticking to boring conference food. As for the amenities, I thoroughly enjoyed their pool and although I didn’t use the gym I heard from several guests it was very nice.
The rooms themselves were spacious, huge beds. The only downside I had with my room is that the glass sliding doors open to a large grassy area which is nice, however, there is no privacy from other guests rooms. I had planned to lay out one afternoon but when I went to there was another guests out sitting down smoking. My only suggestion is to add some sort of dividers for increased privacy.
Bonus: I ended up meeting one of the singers from Linkin Park at the hotel during my stay, so if it’s good enough for a rock star I suppose it’ll do for me ;-)
