Great ribs and great people. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, so you will have to enjoy on the other 5 days in the week.

One of my favorite BBQ places in town! There brisket sandwiches are delicious! The BBQ sauce is soooo good! Don’t forget about the sides! The fries and onion rings are brought to you hot and fresh. It’s also nice that they let you have soft serve vanilla ice cream complimentary with your meal(so save room).

I would give this place zero stars. Meet was so tough and the sausage seemed like it was bought at Walmart.

I have been a customer here for over 15 years. And the customers service and the food is over the top great. I have never had a bad visit.

David’s BBQ is pretty darn good! The quick, friendly, and helpful(I was a first timer) service makes the experience quite enjoyable. My only complaint is that the restaurant feels very dirty. The tables feel dirty, the wooden blocks you get at the counter are disgusting, and the jalapenos/pickles/onions are just out with tongs placed in there. The food is good. The brisket was a bit on the dry side but nothing a little sauce couldn’t fix. The sides which you can pack on as much as you want on your plate are okay. I got the potato salad and it didn’t disappoint. The toast is buttery heaven. I like that there is self-serve ice cream that you can get at the end for free. Did I mention all this is under $ 10? You can’t beat that. Overall, I enjoyed it and would come back.

Delicious BBQ and a friendly staff. We were visiting from California and the staff made some great recommendations… and gave us some free ribs to boot. We will definitely return.

Average BBQ place, the meat was OK nothing special. However, what shocked me was that they do not offer Mac n Cheese as a side what?!? ehhh the décor was very outdated and lots of senior citizens…

Nothing special. Quality of meat is much better than spring creek but the sides are lacking oomf. Décor is also kind of old and scary but tolerable. I had the brisket and turkey– both were tasty.

I have to stop by David’s every time I fly into town. I have been going to David’s since high school and the quality is unbeatable. The chopped beef sandwich has about ½ lb. of meat on it. Very generous portions. The owner, David, or long-time employee, Jesse are always there and quality control is just fantastic. The family has been doing barbecue for 100+ years. It is in a strip shopping center in Pantego and I’m looking forward to visiting over labor day weekend. They have a cheese block you can slice cheese from for your sandwich and a relish bar where you can get onions, relish, pickles or pepperoncinis to accompany your sandwich. I wish every barbecue restaurant in Florida where I live were ½ as good as David’s…well probably not, I’d be over 400 lbs. if it were.

I’ve never had better barbecue, I got the beef sandwich and my friend got the ribs. Everything looked and tasted amazing, I’ll be back… Tomorrow.

We were expecting smaller portions! The rib meat falls off the bone, the sausage was tasty, and the made to order okra was delicious. The beans seemed a bit generic but who cares about beans when everything else is so good?

If there was a 3.5, that would be my rating. It is difficult to rate a BBQ joint with one number — my lower rating is mostly based on the quality of the brisket, which had good hickory smoke flavor, but was quite dry on this particular day. I was told the hickory is imported from Oklahoma. If the brisket were moist it it would keep me coming back, since I like hickory smoke a lot, and it is rarely used at BBQ joints in Central Texas. The highlight for me was the coleslaw, which was crisp, fresh, and chilled nicely. Beans were good too, with a unique tangy flavor. When I come back I will probably try the ribs, and also brisket, and update my rating accordingly. Overall, its a classic Central Texas BBQ joint with a few unique points.

I would have given it 5 stars had they not run out of ribs on my first visit. Seriously— how do you run out of ribs? It wasn’t even a weekend. This is a good BBQ place — -not as good as Tortuga BBQ, but still very tasty food. I suppose you should be a local— or like me, hang with a local who knows how to navigate this cafeteria style BBQ joint. I ended up with the turkey. Reasonably priced, especially for all the food you get. Good sauce and sides.

I had limited time for lunch so I opted to use David’s drive-through instead of dining in. When I got home and opened my brown paper bag, was I surprised. My chopped beef sandwich had enough meat on it to make two hearty sandwiches. I also ordered potato salad. YUMMY! The sandwich bun was nicely toasted and there was also a nice side of sauce. David’s BBQ is a somewhat sweet vinegary concoction. I really enjoyed it. The chopped BBQ had an awesome smokey flavor. They definitely know what they’re doing at David’s BBQ!

New to area(from La. staying in Arlington right now) we wanted BBQ Unilocal helped me find David’s. Two from Bedford joined us. They have a place in Hurst they prefer, but came down here to try David’s. We all thought the food we picked was very good. Brisket, sausage, ribs, beans, cole slaw and potato salad. We all agreed WEWLLBEBACK…

Whoa, this place rocks! Before going, I really only knew one thing… They’ve been in business since 1910. That’s awesome and a little intimidating. When I first walked in, I admit, I was mildly confused. Do I wait to be seated? Do I order at the counter? Everyone who was already sitting seemed like long-time regulars… Anyways, duh, this is a true BBQ joint. Just go to the right so you can approach the counter, grab a tray, and pick your pleasure! Ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket… half order or full order… sandwich or just plain meat with a fat piece of toast. I chose a ½ order of ribs for $ 7.99, which came with two sides. Mr. Butcher put 6 fat ribs on my plate. Once you’ve got your meat, it’s time to serve yourself! What will you have with your smokey entrée? Baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, french fries, fried okra, or friend onion rings? The«fried» items are made to order — so fantastic! You just put a little wooden placeholder on your tray that notes your choice, and a server will bring out your freshly fried, piping hot veggies. Being GF, I couldn’t participate in that fresh-fried awesomeness, so I went with baked beans and potato salad. Both were pretty dang good, I was not disappointed. The potato salad was cold and hearty; not all creamy/soupy like some tend to be. Blehhh. I like to taste potato in my potato salad! The baked beans were awesome; tangy with just the right amount of cooked onion. The ribs were the best part, of course. Tender, super moist, and good enough to not need sauce. But come on, who doesn’t love some extra BBQ on their BBQ?! David’s barbecue sauce was delish; not out of this world or terribly unique, but plain and simply good. My BF ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of gorgeous onion rings. Oh my stars, their aroma was heaven. All in all, David’s is a fantastic barbecue joint and I look forward to returning. There are some old, faded pics on the walls documenting patrons throughout the years(including John Travolta, what?). The staff is more than friendly, the cuisine is good ol’ comfort food, and while you can buy a fried pie for dessert, I’d go with the complimentary soft-serve ice cream!
