My husband was headed to lunch with a friend and I asked him to bring home take out for me. I had enjoyed the shrimp and grits dish there previously and asked for an order of that. The dish my husband brought home was some of the most disgusting slop I have ever laid eyes, much less tasted. Truly awful. Tiny salad shrimp swimming in an ocean of orange cheese. Grits were sort of a suggestion in the dish — barely present. I rarely give a 1 star rating but a chef should be ashamed to let this pass from his kitchen as a representation of shrimp and grits.

Ordered the Mullet Lunch, fries, cheese grits. Way More mullet than I expected. Excellent customer service. Reasonable cost(I don’t want to say cheap, but for $ 10 you can almost feed two adults. Enough for lunch and dinner. Great value

Food was good. Wife ordered the fish and chips, but the fish wasn’t in a beer batter — just looked like seasoned bread crumbs. I ordered the AYCE fried mullet. That was pretty good. My two kids both ordered fried popcorn shrimp — but here’s the rub: one ordered the kids meal for $ 6, the other ordered the adult meal for $ 12. Guess what? Same meal /portion size, but the adult meal came with one additional side. Most expensive ear of corn ever! The restaurant wasn’t very busy when we entered, but began filling as we ate. There were two servers to work the entire restaurant, including the bar, so service was quite slow. May come back, but there are other places to try in the area.

By far the best seafood we had our entire vacation. The calamari was the best with their house yum yum sauce. Every dish we ordered was a winner. Loved the local feel of the place. Can’t go wrong here.

We were on the road late and looking for some dinner. After checking the reviews we decided to give the Tropical Trader Shrimp restaurant a try. The entire family agreed that every single one of the stars listed here is well-earned. The food was outstanding, the service was fantastic, and the entire experience was incredible! We were greeted at the door and made to feel welcome even at the late hour. The restaurant is casual and family friendly. The hostess assured us that the kitchen was open and the entire menu was available. She told us that the fishing boats had docked the day before and all the seafood was fresh. Our server, Kristin, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable about the menu and made several recommendations. My hubby and the oldest had oysters as an appetizer and we all shared a Greek salad. The house dressing is a Greek-style dressing and is phenomenal! Our entire meal(whole fried red snapper, flounder tacos, popcorn shrimp, and Bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp) was amazing. We will definitely return again!
