The View was my favorite thing about it! Watched the sunset while we waited over an hour to be seated. The house dressing is great! Cheese grits and fried oysters were good. Shrimp and hush puppies were not even average. We were sat in front of kitchen door, and almost had food knocked on us at least 4 times. We were on edge the whole time bc of people running in and out with trays. For the price and the wait, not worth it.

Awesome dinner. We stayed at the RV park next door and our«neighbors» had not been there because they heard it was too expensive but it’s not. Yes if you are each going to eat 3 courses it will add up but a few glasses of wine a salad, cup of gumbo and HUGE plate of Buffalo backs was very reasonable Now the Greek salad was awesome and we got a bottle of dressing to go, gumbo was OK but just came from Louisianna so we are spoiled. Now on to the Buffalo Backs… if you like buttery oniony spicy garlicky happiness get these. The are cooked grouper and snapper backbones with just enough meat to pick at and lick your fingers in between. Tons of flavor… one of the best meals we have had in awhile Cheers !

We had worked up quite an appetite while napping under the beach umbrella. We have steered away from Angelo’s somewhat, having felt they had gone off the bubble. Today, the setting sun over the bridge drew us back. Coleslaw and salad were issued with the mandatory local fave, whipped garlic butter. Yummy. Sets me back in time when this offering was uniform throughout the region and used to be served in cute little ceramic shrimp boats(that I am sure got stolen too often). We opted for specialty drinks, a rum runner and top shelf margarita. The rum runner was flavorful, but the margarita offered more tequila than mix. Well, some may like it that way… The dinners took a bit, as it seemed all of us diners showed up at once. But, hey, the sun is going down over the water and company was good. The waitress offered an apology and brought another rum runner and a Sam Adams(bottle, no draft). The place has instituted what I think a model for EVERY restaurant! The have two dinner sizes; economy and full. This means diners get to choose the amount they wish to eat! We both chose economy, as our fridge is full of leftovers. My grouper was perfectly sized, crisply cooked yet moist inside. I chose the Greek-style, which brought it covered in marinated tomatoes, olives, cucumber and feta! Highly recommend. The shrimp were large, nicely fried and were everything you could want. A side of spiced, cubed potatoes were dull and were a skip. Luckily, the fish and shrimp stole the show. My companion gave me a bite of cheese grits and they were terrific. Desert was offered, but we couldn’t. I heard the owners were back at the helm, directing her course, once again. Their leadership showed. Angelo’s is the Angelo’s we remember and love.
