Dear Steve & Kendra,
I really hope you consider firing your entire office staff at the Paramount location.
It makes you two good-​looking people look like SLUM LORDS+ it gives you a bad name.
It’s really unfortunate for my family to have experienced your company. It left me with negative energy, stress, and a loss of $ 70 (which isn’t a big deal, but with a new baby it kinda is).
I pray that you’ll begin reading the Unilocal reviews on your other account and see for yourself that the way Day & Associates treats people is not right. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and full of crap.
Oh, and just because an employee speaks Spanish, doesn’t mean they know customer service. It’s awfully convenient that your ENTIRE office staff is Latino. Interesting…

My husband, new baby & I are in search of a quiet apt. in Hawthorne CA.
I happen to drive by a property managed by Day & Associates and think, «This is perfect! Price is right.»
WRONG, wrong, wrong!
The girls who answer the phones (Jackie, Claudia) are sweet but that’s only to get you to pay $ 35/​each adult for the application fee. Once they get your money, the manger is always «on the phone» or «in a meeting» and you’ll never hear from them again.
Here’s how they treated us:
I spoke to Shayla who supposed to be some manager of some sort. (Stay away from this one. She’s a liar and is so unprofessional she keeps promising to call us back but never, ever does).
I told her that our credit was not good. She said as long as we give an extra security deposit, the landlord is likely to rent to us because he has 2 units available.
$ 70 later the lady completely disappeared off the face of the earth. I called and called and called and left messages. Heck, I even showed up to the place in Paramount with money orders of $ 4,000 for the 1^st month, and 2x the security deposit and the company still kept giving us the run-​around.
What gives?
If the answer is no, simply call back and just say «sorry we rented to someone else.» It is California Tenant Law for them to provide a written statement saying why they denied us & they must give us a copy of our credit report upon request.
But nothing. Shayla just keeps ditching and dodging us.
I will report this scam company to the Better Business Bureau.
Their application process is less than fair. And I also believe they are discriminating against us in a protected class.
Don’t worry Day & Associates… you’ll have your day soon!
A family with a new baby doesn’t need this stress. Shayla and the entire office staff needs to be ashamed of themselves.

If I could give this management company a negative 100 stars, I totally would. I resided in one of the buildings in Lomita until it became unbearable. I simply couldn’t bare to give my hard earned money over to a company that provided me with piss poor service and a disgusting unit. Between the bugs, mold/​mildew, constant plumbing issues (my bathroom ceiling collapsing in due to a leaking toilet above me), gang banging/​smoking neighbors, poor landscaping til the shrubbery grows into the drive path scratching my car, and EXTREMELY poor office staff it quickly became a nightmare to the point that I hated even coming home. The staff is unforgivably rude and incompetent, particularly Sheylla Hudson, the office manager. Long story short… RUN AND RUN FAST FROM ANY BUILDING OWNED BY DAY & ASSOCIATES.

If you need assistance with rectifying issues, this management company is extremely unresponsive! They direct all their matters to be resolved to their office manager who doesn’t return phone calls, who is rarely in the office and doesn’t respond to issues in a timely matter. Can’t run a successful management company without an effective office manager.

Poorly run property management company. Very difficult to get in touch with. Communication is horrible. Eventually they get work done but the contractors they use are not licensed and the quality of work is poor.

We were referred to Steve by my brother, who also used him with excellent results, and were not disappointed. Steve and his team did a wonderful job helping us both sell our home and purchase our new home. We met with him and explained our expectations and they worked incredibly hard to ensure that we got what we were looking for both as sellers and buyers. His expertise in both the area and the market proved to be a major asset and his connections with other realtors in the area allowed us to not just purchase a home but to sneak into our dream neighborhood in a home we love. He and his assistant went above and beyond throughout the process and continue to support us even after completion of both escrows. He truly has a passion for serving his customers and finds joy in bringing their home owning dreams to fruition. It is without any hesitation that I would refer him and his team to anyone looking to buy or sell. Thank you, thank you, thank you we are so happy!
PS As I was writing this review my 3 year old daughter saw Steve’s photo at the bottom of the page and said with excitement in her voice, «Oh look mom it’s Steve Day. I love him!» (Not sure that a review gets better than that)

Just closed last week on the sale of a house in Lomita. Steve and his staff — especially Tania — were absolutely the BEST. They were on top of things all the way through the sale and escrow. Steve took total charge of handling and scheduling his people for property repairs that were needed and everything went beautifully. As an out of town seller, I relied on Steve completely, and he and his staff did not disappoint. I would recommend them without reservation, and only wish I owned more property in the South Bay so that we could work together again!

Steve did a great job helping us find our new home. He offers wonderful customer service, very knowledgable, and accomodating for appointments needed, etc. His staff is very friendly as well. I trust him completely and felt that his expertise and years of experience is a huge asset in any real estate transaction. Thank you Steve!!!

This management company is terrible at doing business. Every time you need a matter resolved you are told that you need to speak to their manager who so happens to never be in the office. They don’t return your calls or deposits either.

Steve and his team did an awesome job for us in selling our house and finding us another place to live. He leaves no stone unturned and pays attention to all aspects of the process. We knew from the beginning to the end that we were in good hands.

Steve worked with me for over a 1 ½ years on finding my home. I was very specific in what I wanted as far as location and price. I can’t tell you how many houses I looked at and Steve was very patient in my quest. He later partnered me with Wendi Woodburn who was familiar with the area I was interested in. Wendi went the extra mile and then some. Both very professional and would highly recommend Day Associates to any one looking for their perfect home. Thanks again Steve and Wendi!

Steve was awesome throughout our year long short sale. Some guys would just stop calling you but not Steve. He was diligent in keeping in touch and keeping us abreast of any situation and implications. Oh did I mention that Steve can speak excellent spanish. He was able to communicate better with my spanish speaking parents with all matters relating the short sale better than I could. Hands down the best choice when it comes to any real estate transaction you could possibly have. He will handle all future transactions for my family.

I referred someone for property management who was being transferred to another state. He didn’t want to deal with trying to collect rent and pay the bills from out of state as well as handle any emergency issues that might arise. Steve’s company managed the property for him, collected rents, paid bills, and made sure the property was maintained while my friend was gone. He was so happy with the results and didn’t have to worry about a thing. Great job Steve!

I had a great meeting with Steve today. He is so knowledgeable and experienced in real estate and property management and it shows! Steve and his team have a tremendous offering of services and support that I recommend to anyone who is selling/​buying real estate or needs help managing their property. What a difference a Day makes!
