Shawna Lovering, O.D.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lovering for a couple of years now, and absolutely love her. She is incredibly detail oriented, makes you feel like you’re the most important patient she has, and she definitely knows her stuff. She keeps great hours — and is often able to get me in before the beginning of my work day!

Dr. Lovering is a very skilled professional and an extremely nice person. Her staff is also kind and easy to work with. I have no complaints with her or anyone in her office. However, I just learned, after referring a friend to Dr. Lovering’s practice, that the doctor charges a very high «contact lens fitting fee». I feel stupid for paying this fee for the last few years without questioning it. Today, I did a quick survey of 10 other doctors in the area (chosen at random from Unilocal) and found that Dr. Lovering’s contact lens fitting fee is over $ 120 more than the other doctors. When I called to ask Dr. Lovering’s office about the fee the best they could offer was to send me my records to ease the transition to a new doctor. I appreciate that since I will, in fact, be going to a different practice. I have found a new optometrist who charges a reasonable contact lense fitting fee that is just a small fraction of Dr. Lovering’s fee.
