While shopping yesterday at Marine Layer my wife had her eye on a sport top. We where informed by the staff that all items marked with orange, yellow and red dots, on the labels are discounted. The top my wife wanted had an orange dot which meant it was 40% off the price. When we went to purchase it we where informed that the top wasn’t on discount and that they had made a mistake and marked it wrong. I never have been at a shop before that didn’t honor their discount when it was the shops fault for marking the items incorrectly.

Great casual clothing store for men.
Specializing in mostly T-​shirts, polos, hoodies, and sweatshirts. Marine Layer is pricey, but the clothes will be mainstay in your wardrobe for years, and the first thing you reach for because of the comfort factor.
T-​shirts are $ 30-​$ 50, and are stylish and beyond soft. If you can wrap your head around spending more than you’re probably comfortable with, you won’t regret it!
They also have a good selection of women’s clothing as well.

On a trip to Stanford, I had some spare time to spend in Palo Alto. I stumbled across Marine Layer while looking for a gift for a friend. And then I fell in love with this company and am now seriously addicted to their ridiculously soft clothing! Go there in person — they have stores in SF, Palo Alto, and NYC — or shop online and you won’t be disappointed. And your friends will love you more, too, because when they hug you they also feel the softness of your sweaters or t-​shirts. It really is a win-​win situation!

My Boyfriend is obsessed with these shirts and considering how often I sleep in them, I am now also. SO SOFT. When he saw the shop open on University he wanted to stop by and check it out. They don’t have a huge selection but considering the vibe of the brand I can’t imagine that many of their shops do.
The prices are high but the material in honestly unlike any other, the tee shirts are unbelievably soft and all of their items are handmade in the USA. The one guy who was working was really nice, chatted with us a lot, made us feel comfortable, and was sort of able to negotiate on price. This was a great experience and I will probably be back soon to purchase gifts =].
