My boyfriend and I designed a custom engagement ring with Cindy’s help at Mansoor & Gore. I would never have thought that it was possible to get a custom ring for a reasonable price, but it came in way under our budget (which was not extravagant, I swear!). Cindy was really great throughout the process — helping us source a stone, communicating with the jeweler who made the ring, and in the end helping us create a really beautiful and unique ring. I felt like she really understood our vision from the start, while making suggestions that guided us in the right direction. They also have a big selection of beautiful and interesting pieces in the store. Go check it out!

The collection here is beautiful, diverse, unique. I came to find something that wasn’t your typical piece of jewelry, and that’s what I found. The salespeople /​manager have been great to work with, accommodating, responsive and helpful.

It’s been 5 years and I now have a few pieces of jewelry from Mansoor and Gore. I believe that the guy I referenced in my original review did actually read my reviews :) because he’s presented me with a few trinkets.
I am now docking a star not because anything has changed about their quality, but now that the pieces are actually somewhat affordable for me (I’m willing to actually ask how much things cost and flip over the price tags), I’ve realized how insanely expensive most of them are. You’re paying for the artistry as much as you’re paying for the downtown Palo Alto real estate, imo. The price of the materials dictate whether what you plucked out to look at will be just plain old expensive versus stratospheric.
This is not to say that I would discourage people from going here– there are still just lovely and distinct pieces. And this is Palo Alto, home of «average millionaires» and more billionaires per capita than a medium sized non-​oil producing country, so really, it fits perfectly.

Excellent on jewelry repair and pearl restringing. Very patient and artistic when I need to repair and replace some parts on a broach.

Have been a customer since 1998 when we purchased the diamond for my engagement ring at their store. Have purchased many pieces since, all unique and of excellent quality. If I ever have a piece of jewelry in need of repair or enhancement, I bring it to M&G and always leave satisfied. My most recent repair was my wedding band, which is a very delicate chain design. They successfully repaired the band and I was without it for only a short couple weeks. The owners, Julie & Catherine, and the store manager, Julie Smith, are all lovely to work with.

I went to MG to get my engagement ring made for my current fiancé. It is a stressful experience in of itself, and they made this such a fun, low stress, and memorable experience. All the people in there were always so helpful, upbeat, honest, and straightforward on all accounts.
I was having the ring made from scratch, and they were nothing but helpful and supportive. They worked with one of their jewelers that rendered several versions until the prototype was just right. The finished product was ever better than I expected.
When my fiancé and I came back in to get it sized, they were so happy to hear about the story, and help us size it. We are headed back to them for our wedding bands.
If you are looking for a place to get a ring, go to Mansoor Gore, you WILL NOT REGRET IT.

I went in for jewelry repair in June. I brought in two pieces — a ring that had a broken prong and a black onyx pendant. They did an excellent job at repairing both and did it for a very reasonable price.
About a week later, the onyx pendant broke again (it was the round eye hole where you insert the chain). I’ll admit — I actually use this pendant as a key ring instead of wearing it. I brought it in again willing to pay for a second repair but they did it for free!
Very pleasant staff to work with. Conveniently located off University. Can’t go wrong!

A reasonably nice selection of jewelry and very helpful. Their jewelry is of the expensive diamond, sapphire etc. variety.

Awesome experience. My boyfriend bought me an engagement ring here. I dislike diamonds and traditional rings and Mansoor had an amazing array of color and style. I ended up with a 22K band with colorful stones and am delighted. The staff if very knowledgeable and not at all pushy. They help, they show and they let you take your time. They have a gorgeous collection. Two thumbs up.

Whenever I need to have jewelry repaired, this is my spot for getting it done. So far, I’ve had them restring two necklaces, and I’ve been very pleased with the results — good workmanship, quick turnaround and fair prices. Anytime another one of my beloved necklaces randomly breaks or something’s amiss with an earring, I’ll definitely bring it to Mansoor & Gore!

I went to Mansoor & Gore on recommendations from Unilocalers and others to get some jewelry repaired. The staff were friendly, and the jewelry is beautiful.
However, I felt ripped off by the quotes and costs of repairs! I ended up paying twice what I expected for some simple repairs (fixing clasps, etc.). I even got charged for some repairs I was told would be free!
Nice if you wanna buy unique but expensive jewelry. Not nice if you wanna get some good service for a decent price.

Each woman has a story to tell about each piece of jewelry she owns – bet on it! Each lovely piece of jewelry comes with it’s own index and we are nostalgic for the magic of its memories. When boyfriends, husbands, or toxic friends are gone and the flowers have withered, our jewels accompany us from lifetime to next lifetime. That being said, it is ever important to find an honest, reputable jeweler who gets it – I speak in reverent tone when I say that Mansoor & Gore gets it.
Last Friday, while carting dogs, lunch and extra scarves while preparing for work, I bent down to pick up an extra sock when lo and behold – my lovely and highly esteemed pearl necklace clasp caught hold of my scarf; pearls flew everywhere – did I mention this was at 5 am? Nevertheless, I hunted down my pearls (all 25, 10 mm works of art plus the gold clasp) and bagged them while I Unilocaled a jewelry repair place close to work (Did I fail to mention I was 20 minutes late for work that day?) so I could drop it off after work and that I did.
Upon locating this place on Ramona, preceded by the trusted input of other Unilocalers, I was totally psyched about this new find. Staffers were low-​key, professional and super meticulous. I was quoted a fair price and was assured of top craftsmanship re restringing my necklace. Two days later, I received a call from Meredith (who has the sweetest voice and who has a yen for pearl necklaces) to say that she was delighted that she was able to do this over the weekend as it was her ALL TIME FAVORITE THING TO DO! Can you say «happy» boys and girls? I drove over on Monday to meet Meredith, who was as delightful as I had hoped (think Mia Farrow meets Carly Simon) and equally gifted. Sufficed to say, we talked for 30 minutes, laughed and brainstormed on ideas for a diamond and gold leaf brooch that I am having custom made. Memo: the quoted price was actually higher than the actual price – ethical business to boot!

If you love 24k gold jewelry like I do, then this is the place. My husband bought me a fabulous Yossi Harari necklace from here for our 15^th anniversary and I love it. I prefer this store for its unique selection of jewelry over Tiffany’s. I intend on shopping only here for buying jewelry in conjunction with major milestones! Both women are very courteous.

I’m ring shopping and heard that this place carried tension settings, so I stopped by since I was in the area.
They have a GREAT selection of jewelry. I’m not much of a REAL jewelry person. I’m happy with $ 3.50 earrings from H&M. Yep. But if I had the money, or if I liked jewelry a lot, I’d be buying my stuff from here.
Both women were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I’m usually really nervous for some reason when I walk into jewelry stores, but they made my experience very pleasant.

Wonderful, unique jewelry. My husband has caught on to the fact that I love pretty much everything in the store and he really can’t go wrong with a gift from here. Their selection can’t be beat — everything from modern silver to deco-​inspired to semi-​precious stone pieces to estate, and all of it much prettier than the boring chain jewelry store stuff. They’ll also do custom work for you, so you can point to things and say, «I love these stones, but that style», and lo and behold, that’s what you can get.
I’m not as in love with their service as other reviewers. I took my engagement ring in for repair (having a small stone that had fallen out replaced) and it took an absurdly long time, well over a month. I finally had to call them and see what was up and say I wanted it back, done or not, to get it done. On the flip side, I’d taken a necklace from here back in to get it lengthened a little, and that was done in a week or so, so I’m not sure what happened with the ring. The sales staff is generally helpful and nice, but I’ve hit a couple of cranky-​ish people at times, one of whom was one of the owners, so go figure. The fabulous selection gets them four stars anyway, since I’ll put up with a lot for gorgeous jewelry.

I love love love this place. The service is first rate – the best around. I love jewelery and have been coming here because they are so honest and good at what they do. I’ve brought in pieces for repair and their prices are so resonable and the work is top notch! Would not go anywhere and would not trust anyone else with my bling.

Mansoor & Gore is THE place I’ve taken my jewelry for repair over the years. They do an amazing job! I’ve always appreciated their honesty as well. I had a necklace that was going to cost more to repair than it cost to purchase, they presented several viable options that wouldn’t break my budget. These options also meant that someone other than Mansoor & Gore would receive the business for that repair. I will go back to them again and again because I know they will do their best by me — and as the mother of a little boy who is always pulling on my necklaces and earrings, they should recoup that repair where they referred me elsewhere in no time.

Mansoor & Gore is the perfect antidote to chain jewelery stores. 2^nd generation owners Kathryn Mansoor and Julie Gore and their delightful staff create exquisite pieces from new gems, 22K gold beads, etc., but they are most skilled in re-​fashioning your existing baubles into wearable pieces. A small selection of estate jewelery is also available, as well as moderately-​priced silver jewelery. There is no pressure, and you are made to feel very welcome. I highly recommend them.
