This review is more of a thank you letter to Robert, Alexandra, Sarah, and their installation crew at European Cabinets. Our down-​to-​the-​studs remodel was a big project and involved many logistical, design, and problem-​solving decisions. We were extremely lucky to work with many talented and passionate individuals, and the European Cabinet team were among our favorites.
They provided the cabinetry for our kitchen, master bedroom closet, and laundry room. Then, as we saw in person, the beauty and functionality of their products, we asked them to provide the cabinets for our master bathroom, to put in an open riser staircase, and to also design our study.
We looked at many products from Germany, Italy, and of course, custom-​built in the US. We felt what we got from European Cabinets in style, durability, quality, and price– was unmatched. There were certain areas for which I had a very specific image in my head of what I wanted (the study with 3 walls of built-​in desks and window seat, and wall of bookcases) and I swear, Sarah somehow exactly replicated that vision based on a poorly drawn sketch I drew and some vague hand motions I made We also had a very modern, open-​riser staircase in mind, which we were told either could not be done as we imagined, or would cost 2 to even 3 times as much as we ended up paying with European Cabinets.
We love our house and feel lucky to live here. We realized many of the favorite rooms in our house are in large part, due to the imagination, hard work, and products supplied by European Cabinets.
And last but definitely not least important, is that my husband, daughter, and I had a lot of fun and genuinely enjoyed working with Robert, Alexandra, and Sarah! Home building can be stressful and overwhelming at times, but we had delicious cappuccinos and belly-​laughed our way through many a design meeting and their attentive-​to-​our-​needs, yet firm guidance when our ideas got too crazy or just in poor taste, helped keep us on track, within budget, and avoid any heated marital «discussions» which can easily arise during the course of this type of project.
Thank you to Alexandra for her impeccable and decisive taste! Thank you to Sarah for instilling her cool vibe into every thoughtfully planned design! Thank you to Robert for keeping his cool during port workers’ strikes and amidst multiple projects and getting our project done in a timely fashion! Thank you to the installation crew who worked hard, were innovative problem-​solvers, and left our site as clean as possible. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with European Cabinets!

After doing some research and going through a design with a modern European style cabinet design manufacture, they were unable to supply the cabinet material style I wanted (due to manufacturing issues). I started looking at other options.
Feeling kind of frustrated going through the 2 month process of picking a cabinet supplier, material, and design with the first company, I started some conversations with Sarah @ European Cabinets and Design Studios. She took a look at the drawing that I put together of my kitchen (dimensions) and I also showed her what I have picked out for appliances. I did not give any direction on the design. I really wanted to see what Sarah’s design vision of my kitchen would be without any input from me. We agreed that she would put an initial draft together and get back to me when she had something for me to review.
The next week I came in to review what she had drew up. I was very happy with the modern style design of my kitchen I could not recognize it. I was so impressed with Sarah’s design I had to make it happen.
Since I had to demo my entire kitchen I had a lot of time to allow for the 6 to 8 weeks for cabinet fabrication and delivery. Once the cabinets were delivered they promptly scheduled installation. The installers were very professional and courteous. Long story short, the end result matches the design drawing to the tee. ** except for the front door — work in progress **
I highly recommend Sarah @ European Cabinets and Design Studios for modern kitchen design.
Cost: 10 to 15 percent higher than my first place but, well worth it and very fair
Communication: Always able to get a hold of Sarah or Robert to work through any details or concerns
Bickering: I cannot stand bickering. ECD did not try and dispute little issues. They were very accommodating when there was any misunderstanding and sited on my side on most issues. In other words, they did not try and nickel & dime me.

back in 2011, I wanted a kitchen remodel and went to their show room and instantly fell in love with the cabinets and designs. I was certain that I wanted to do my kitchen with their products and designs.
the first visit to the store went very well. not so much the later times when a lady showed me their products. i felt eyed down as if there’s doubts that i can afford what i was looking at.
to make a long story short, there were other kitchen designers who were much more diligent to make preliminary designs, faster and more ready to communicate, and we went with another store.
forwarding to 2014, i bought a new house and wanting to remodel my kitchen again, gutting everything and redo the design. I still love the cabinets here, so I decided to give them a try. communication has been rather slow, email answers came either really delayed or none at all. there were no preliminary designs or even advices. nothing at all. Then I thought i’d ask for an appointment for measurements. they said that to come out they would require a 1500 deposit. If i can trust your work, earnesty and responsiveness, i am sure i would not mind. but this is absurd that i have not received design related advices to know what you are even doing to pay that much for nothing.
I’m disappointed at this whole experience. and will be looking else where for similar products but better service.

We remodeled one powder room and two bathrooms just recently. We got our bathroom vanities, mirrors, bathroom storage, and powder room sink from European Cabinets. It was such a pleasure working with Robert and Alexandra. They provided us great design tips regarding the size of the vanities and sink, color of the tiles both for walls and floors, and the shape of the shower niche. Although we just bought the bathroom furniture from European cabinets, their help didn’t stop at the time that they delivered the furniture. Robert provided tips to our construction crew regarding installing the vanities and provided us with the P-​trap matching our sink to make it look perfect.
We’re so happy with European cabinet that I can’t wait to work with Robert and Alexandra for our upcoming kitchen remodel.

We remodeled our kitchen and some other parts of our house recently.
European Cabinets were the best of all the people we worked with for the remodel. Robert and Alexandra helped us design the kitchen around the new space we were going to have, and were very patient with us — we went back and forth for weeks, deciding on the style, materials, colors and finishing. We also always got great cappuccino every time we drop by too =)
The kitchen cabinets took a while to arrive (3 months+), but they were gorgeous once installed. Their installer, Rick, was also outstanding — hands down the best installer I’ve ever met. He has an amazing work ethic, paid attention to details, and ensured that everything was installed perfectly. Now our kitchen looks like it came out of a design magazine and we couldn’t be more happy!
You can tell that they really care about their work. They want the work done perfectly and for us to be fully satisfied. They communicate constantly when we need them (even during weekends), and willing to do work above and beyond their responsibility to make sure everything runs smoothly (eg. Rick fixed a badly installed kitchen hood for us even though it was my other contractor’s fault).
After our remodel, we regret not trusting every single one of Robert’s recommendation for other work we got done. Every one of his recommendation worked out great — that includes his installer (Rick) and countertop guy (Raul). We can’t say the same for the contractor that we chose ourselves. Robert’s very frank and can seem brusque at times, but that’s part of the reason why we trusted him.

I wanted to give Robert a big endorsement. He is a very informed, professional, and willing to work with you. I really like him and if we had decided to go forward with our project, we would have definitely gone with him!

If you’re in the market for a sexy Euro style kitchen you can’t go past the folks at European Cabinets. I nearly signed up with a similar styled supplier in San Francisco, and so glad I didn’t. Robert at ECDS created an alternate design that was so much better than the other supplier. He listened to our needs and came up with a design that suited us perfectly. Having them is a 1 stop shop also made the project successfully and run smooth. Having their own installers made the process easy. His recommended plumber has also been awesome and ended up getting a lot more work from us. While we had to wait to get the cabinets shipped from Italy that were installed last week and we are a week ahead of schedule. Robert said the kitchen would be in within 12 weeks from signing and he was spot on. If you want something different to boring old wooden cabinet kitchen you find everywhere else you have to check out the options here. DONT even bother looking up the other supplier in the City, the one near AT&T Park, they promise the world then don’t deliver on their promises. Thank you Robert we are very excited about our new kitchen.

Extremely professional, talented, and trustworthy people to work with. They take genuine pride in their work, and their product is great: we wanted a modern look in our new kitchen, and were worried that our only options were Ikea, on the low end, and something stratospherically expensive on the other. These cabinets are nicely situated in-​between, and are simply stunning.

If you like modern kitchen and bath furniture, I highly recommend European Cabinet by Design. I had two excellent experiences with Robert and Alexandra, a Russian couple, who run the business. Three years ago I purchased cabinetry for a renovated bathroom, and these last few months, we fully renovated our kitchen (all the cabinetry), the master bathroom and another bathroom. Needless to say, not small budget items. Real design furniture at a reasonable price for a high end kitchen (much cheaper than Poggenpohl or other luxury European brands, and beautiful — all made in Italy). All custom designed.
1) Robert and Alexandra (and Robert’s brother Illya) are truly delightful — the friendliest and warmest couple — and that matters a lot when you deal with big renovations. They spent numerous hours with me designing the kitchen — always making great suggestions and never clocking me 2) I never felt nickel and dimed — it was very clear what the price was and we never discussed price again. Robert and Alexandra spent a lot of time, making suggestions. They also came to the house numerous times to measure, adjust, check and never with additional charges. 3) They delivered on time (~10−12 weeks) — even though it was coming from Europe!, 4) They truly care and even suggested that I don’t get certain additional cabinets so it did not look so busy — rare are businesses that don’t push more consumption, 5) they provided great suggestions on other key elements (tiles, countertops, appliances) as they cared that the whole kitchen/​bath had harmony, 6) Their crew does the whole installation — they come quickly and make sure that the furniture fits perfectly, 7) they fixed issues (bound to happen with big projects) — one of the doors got scratched in the installation process by the contractor for my house — Robert and Alexandra never asked any questions and just replaced the door for free.
It is nice to deal with a small business that really cares about the design and making a beautiful kitchen and in the process is very genuine and no hassle. I actually really enjoyed visiting the showroom every time I went there, in large part because Robert, Alexandra and Illya were so enjoyable. Because they are small and get lots of visits, it is best to schedule time with them for all visits.

My husband and I have worked with Robert and Alexandra for the last two years to design the kitchen and two bathrooms for our new house. The house is now complete and it looks fantastic. Our kitchen and bathrooms are incredible, thanks to the design guidance from Alexandra and the quality cabinets, sinks, and mirrors from Robert. We really enjoyed working with both Robert and Alexandra and cannot say enough good things about them and the way they run their business. They are true professionals who care about their customers and who really go the extra mile to ensure the design and installation is perfect. We feel very lucky to have found them when we started our home project as their guidance influenced many of our decisions. We could not be happier with the final product.

Robert and Alexandra did a phenomenal job designing and installing the cabinets in our kitchen and bathrooms. Extremely trustworthy and great people to deal with. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future. I wish all home improvement stores were such a pleasure to work with.

We purchased kitchen cabinets from Cabinets by Design. Their service is excellent. We had great experience during the whole process from design to installation. We had some problem with our stone installation. They worked with our stone installer and did a lot of extra trips to our house to make sure the final result is flawless. We have used the cabinets for 6 months. Everything feels right. Top quality and fantastic look. love our modern kitchen!

My mom is a developer and recently completed a custom-​built home using European Cabinets for her entire kitchen. We are thrilled with the result and service of this company! We’ve built many homes and like to try new designs and trends each time. We were referred to European Cabinets by our interior designer, who always knows how to scope out high quality design but at more reasonable prices.
We found Robert to be very easy to work with. The entire process went smoothly, from the initial design to installation. The only warning I would give is to allow for 4 months of lead time; it is important to place your order quite in advance if you wish to ensure no hiccups with the timing of your project.
Robert’s crew was very patient, knowledgeable, and able to give helpful advice in the design process. He worked well with our interior designer to ensure a smooth design process.
Installation was very professional as well. What stands out the most though, is their high customer service. They are always there to help resolve problems and give sound advice on how to handle any issues. We would highly recommend them.

These guys are awesome, they come to your place, help with design, oversee every aspect of your kitchen remodeling and always there for you. And pricing is amazing compare to other places, we did quite a research before moving forward and saved thousands by choosing European Cabinets by Design, not compromising on quality and configuration, including advanced features.

Excellent service, super professional, amazing products, and great prices. We tore down a wall in our kitchen and got cabinets from Cabinets by Design. Amazingly enough, their prices were comparable or better than Scavolini Kitchens, but the service was above and beyond. They visited our place several times, and provided valuable advice regarding design, as well as architectural advice. They have this amazing program that lets you see the design in 3D on a big screen. The showroom is great, if you want to have an idea of what the cabinets/​accessories/​even countertops would look like. The product is top-​notch quality, cabinets made in Italy. Designs are beautiful and unique, they close quietly and automatically, and accessories look beautiful. Ilya, Robert, and Alexandra went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the design and installation, and recommended products from paint colors to countertops to tile. Our kitchen looks WOW.

My dream master bath suite designed by the dream team of European Cabinets by Design.
My wife and I gutted our new house creating a new enlarged master bathroom suite. Our interior designer had sketched various layouts that «did not feel right.» The flow and function was difficult. When I expressed concern with our designer’s drawings our architect recommended that I call Robert and Alexandra at European Cabinets by Design Bathrooms.
I called Robert asking for help. Robert arranged for us to meet the following day. Robert looked at the plans and the various drawings. I explained what I saw as a flaw in function in the proposed bathroom layouts. Robert got out tracing paper and started sketching. Within 10 minutes he came up with a design that others had not thought of or visualized. To say the least I was thrilled and truly impressed.
My wife and I met the following day with Robert and Alexandra in European Cabinets by Design’s Palo Alto showroom. Robert had taken it upon himself to do additional drawings with various layouts for our meeting. Because of her initiative and her vision we knew we had found the right person to design our bathroom. Robert is brilliant and has many years in the kitchen and bathroom design field. With Robert and her team we were able to create a beautiful bathroom that functions perfectly.
European Cabinets by Design designs bathrooms that are beautiful and practical. All the bells and whistles are worth every penny. Drawers and cabinets open silently and close automatically. Every detail is done with precision and is meticulous in function. My wife and I compared prices with other top kitchen and bathroom design firms. To our amazement European Cabinets by Design was within the ballpark of our budget and comparable to other bathroom design firms.
When we began demolition we found «hidden pipes» in the wall, some additional cabinets were to go. Robert was the one to come up with a «new design drawing» which saved the space. My wife and I (along with our general contractor and architect) watched Robert reconfigure the space and create different sized cabinets to incorporate the pipes. Because of Robert’s vision we were able to keep the more space. Today, no one is able to see the different depth of cabinets that Robert magically designed.
Alexandra is a fabulous kitchen and bathroom designer. Her eye for detail is laser sharp as well as being practical. Robert was instrumental in stone and tile selection and appliances for our bathroom. Robert and his team are a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. They oversee every detail through numerous site visits and are efficient in communication through email and phone calls.

They designed our kitchen cabinets, answered questions and did site visits during the new construction process, installed the cabinets, recommended appliances, provided design advice for countertop and color, etc. Basically, they went beyond their job responsibilities.
