Dr. Eberhart is very professional and patient. She did a very thorough initial checking (for cavity and for gum depth) and gave good advice based on my case. She talks to me in such positive and encouraging way that made me more committed to my own dental care habits. Highly recommend!

Poor. Shoddy manners, inaccurate billing (overbilled for services not provided). The hygienist is incredibly rough, left my mouth bleeding. Told me I needed three root canals (been a while since I’d seen a dentist), whereas a professional managed to save two of the teeth and fix one up without the RC. Your teeth are important — find another dentist!

I used to have a horrendous fear of going to the dentist due to some bad experiences that happened when I was a lot younger. When I moved up to the Bay Area, I decided to man up and start going again and everybody at my job recommended Dr. Eberhart. Since then, I’ve been going twice a year for almost 10 years now and it’s always been a consistently professional, friendly experience!
I decided to write this today because I’m going in for oral surgery next week (with a different dentist) and I’ve been a little freaked out. Today, I had a pre-​surgery checkup and cleaning and everybody went out of their way to talk about my upcoming surgery and allay my fears with their own experiences. Now, I’m a heck of a lot calmer! Thank you Dr. Eberhart, Anne, and Linda!
Anyway, my dental hygienist Linda always does a fantastic job on my teeth and lets me know what I need to do more of and less of. She takes her time and is very friendly and chatty during the process. I never feel stressed and I never leave with the feeling that I’ve been scraped and picked to bits.
The receptionist Anne is a total angel! I usually talk with her before and after any procedure and she’s very informative and friendly. Anne talked to me today for a good 20 minutes about the procedure I’m about to get next week and she’s the reason I’m so relaxed about it at this point.

I came here to replace my cracked retainer, and the service was outstanding. They were able to give me an appointment for the day after I called. Everything was quick and accommodating. My follow-​up appointment was even better. I arrived an hour early, but they still took care of me right away.
The receptionist was so nice. When I came back a week later, she remembered everything we talked about and the conversation flowed.
As a student, the discounts offered made the prices very affordable. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

It had been a really long time since I’d gotten a cleaning (embarrassingly long), so I decided to look into dentists in the area. Since I don’t have dental insurance, and am a broke grad student, I looked into places that provide student discounts. I had absolutely no trouble getting a quote over the phone and making an appointment with Dr. Eberhart.
There was no wait when I came in. After filling out my forms I was taken to my room to get some x-​rays. A few minutes later I was greeted by Dr. Eberhart. I’m so used to having a hygienist work on my teeth so I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Eberhart did the cleaning and check up herself. It was refreshing to spend some quality time with the actual dentist instead of just meeting them for a few moments at the end of an appointment.
Dr. Eberhart is a fantastic individual and really dedicated dentist, I would definitely recommend her. It also helps that the service in total was hundreds less than I was quoted from other dentists in the area. I’ll definitely be back for another check up.

I recently had a veneer and crown done (for a badly chipped front tooth), and I’m extremely happy with the results. The color match is perfect, the tooth looks beautiful, the experience of working with Dr. Eberhardt and her staff was wonderful, and overall I couldn’t be happier.

It is hard for me to say I am a «fan» of going to ANY dentist, but I’m a very happy customer at Dr. Eberhart’s office. Here are some highlights:
1) When I hadn’t seen a dentist in over 5 years they were willing to give me some sort of price estimate over the phone– other offices wouldn’t.
2) They always talk to me about cost of care — what must happen immediately and what can wait. I’m a grad student paying out of pocket, so this is super necessary.
3) Anne, the receptionist, sends me an e-​mail with appointment availabilities when it is time for me to come in.
4) The hygienists (Linda and Maria) are friendly, knowledgeable, and communicate clearly with me. They explain everything to me, but always in a considerate and respectful way. They are very accommodating of my requests and concerns.
5) They have up-​to-​date technology, but it doesn’t feel like bells and whistles.
I’ve had some terrible (traumatizing!) experiences in the past, but this office has helped my anxiety decrease about my teeth.

Generally excellent — discounts for students, understands budget limitations, and does the cleaning herself. I really appreciated her care, only received a small lecture about having more regular cleanings, and her staff is really up front and clear about billing. Compared to a recent experience with the Stanford hospital, I have a newfound appreciation for this office and their professionalism.

I went to Dr. Dee for dental care for six or seven years, then moved to SoCal for seven years. I just moved back, and was delighted to find that she’s still the same sweet, geekily charming dentist as before. I remain amazed that she does all of the tooth cleaning herself, meaning that she’s really got an idea about what’s going on my mouth after 15 minutes of poking around. All of the other dentists I’ve seen have technicians do this for them, and kind of step in for a quick look around at the last moment.
She definitely knows what she’s doing — she just filled a cavity for me (my fourth in 40+ years), and was so careful that I didn’t even feel the needle go in for the anesthesia. On my last cavity (10+ years ago), she provided plenty of nitrous; this time it didn’t seem necessary.
There’s no upselling for teeth whitening or other crap going on here, but she does seem to keep up with the high-​tech gear — she’s got ultrasonic descalers, panoramic X-​Ray machines, and digital X-​Rays. The price still seems quite reasonable, and in-​line with what I paid in SoCal.
The office doesn’t always run with military precision (although appointments have always started pretty much on time), but the staff (and of course Dr. Dee) are very pleasant and friendly. I’ve never had a bad experience there. I can (and have!) recommend her unreservedly.

Dr. Dee is the best dentist the whole bay area. I have visited her since 1996 and she is far more professional than any dentists in the Bay Area/​Peninsula. Best cleaning and ‘teeth saving’ attitude compared to other rip and replace dentists who only care about insurance payments.
The other reviews about issues with insurance etc are completely opposite of my and my family’s experience every year since 1996 including about 10 insurance company changes. Very helpful receptionists and dental hygienists as well.

Dr. Eberhardt is wonderful. I started visiting her office when I moved to California. Before that, I had the same dentist for 20 years. So, she had big shoes to fill.
My visits are always quick, and the staff is very curteous and helpful. And they always tell me to floss more with such tact! There’s also a great student discount.

Very pleased with Dr. Eberhart’s services. Very thorough in what she is doing and answers all questions posed to her. She genuinely seems to give a crap about the patients comfort level.
Her staff is very professional and Anne, the front office gal, is extremely clear on what the charges will be and how much the insurance company covers. No surprises when it’s time to pay.

I don’t know why I’ve never written a review for Dee Eberhardt, but it seems I haven’t. She’s fabulous! I’m really surprised at the billing/​insurance issues some of the reviewers have had. I’m careful to ask them to check my insurance co. and see what is covered, how much I’ll pay out of pocket, and when they will cover it, etc. In the 18 or so years I’ve been going to Dr. Dee, I’ve had 3 or 4 different insurance coverages and Dee’s staff has always been on top of it. I wonder if the people with the negative experiences actually asked their questions before they started… Well, anyway, Dr. Dee is fabulous. I’m a very nervous patient and she is extremely patient with me and gentle. Linda, who does the cleanings, is a complete marvel! Sooo gentle! I rarely wait and if I do it’s never more than 5 min. I’ve had to have some extensive crown work done and she and I have planned it out over a couple of years so that I can get as much insurance coverage as possible. She and her staff are fabulous and I couldn’t recommend them more hightly.

I only saw Dr Eberhart once, I used to see another dentist that was in her office. This dentist proved to be negligent and she kicked him out for arguing and she didn’t agree with his treatment plan for me. This other dentist did work that was unnecessary and maxed out my insurance for the year in the process. For his mistake she did some work for free for me, I think its only fair. I think she’s very nice and completely professional, if there are biliing questions ask before you go or ask to get it in writing.

I had a tooth that was bothering me and I went to eberhart… she told me I needed to have a root canal done (fine) I figured I would because of the amount of pain I was in.
She referred me to a specialist… So I went to the specialist with the referral paper in hand where eberhart had written down what tooth was to be done (I was in such pain I didn’t even look at it)… my procedure starts and I ask the specialist why she’s doing a different tooth? I’m told eberhart circled the wrong tooth!!! I mean what the hell???
When I called eberhart she blew me off and said «well you needed work on that tooth anyway. Your mouth looks like that of a meth head!!! «
Excuse me??? I have bad teeth, I’m a recovering anorexic and also have dental phobia… BUT who are you to judge me and accuse me of doing drugs??? Seriously!!!
Shady shady dentist, I wouldn’t even recommend her. to my worst enemy. I’d rather travel 30 mins and pay more out of pocket than go to her! Thanks dr eberhart now I have to have that tooth you messed up on crowned; because they did a root canal that was unecessary on your request!!!

I went to Dr. Eberhart after not being to a dentist in a looonnnggggg time. It had been the first time I had insurance in probably 5 years. So, after reading these great reviews on her office I was confident in trusting her. She did a great job! I was happy until I got the bill! Her technician told me since I hadnt had a cleaning in a long time they would have to break the session into two. I had no problem coming back. However, my insurance only covers one cleaning per 6 months, so I had to pay over $ 100 on the spot that day and no one even told me that my insurance might not pay for the second cleaning.
Then a month later I had a cavity and I had it fixed and they used the white filler that matching your teeth instead of the ugly silver. However, again my insurance didnt cover it and I have do pay $ 150. I even told the receptions what happened in my previous visit and they still went a head and did what they wanted before checking with me. I had no idea it was not standard to use this new filler.
The asian receptionist just ignored me when I told her my situation. She told me it was my responsiblity to know my plan. It would still be nice to be told if it might be more that what the insurance is willing to pay.
Dr. Eberhart is a great dentist but if you are worried about your expenses I would advise to check what your insurance pays and what they are actually doing to you before you go ahead with the services.

I came to Dr. Eberhart after a bad experience with my previous dentist and have been quite relieved to find an honest and capable practice. In response to another review, they must read Unilocal because they have bent over backwards to be upfront with me about costs and the deductions I receive with Stanford’s Vital Savings plan. Anyways, in addition to a thorough cleaning I also needed a root canal, which was actually performed at another office they referred me to, which incidentally was also competent and pleasant (as pleasant as a root canal can possibly be, that is). I still have to go in for a crown but after visiting Dr. Eberhart 4 separate times, I have no reservations recommending her.

She’s great – thorough and gentle when cleaning teeth. Her staff is friendly and professional.

I have been going to Dr. Manias for years and find she is extremely skilled and professional. Recently she has been on sabbatical and I have seen Dr. Eberhart. She is also quite competent and caring. I have never had any billing or insurance issues with either of these dentists and would recommend either of them without hesitation.

I’m sure I’m not unique in that I hate going to the dentist. but on top of hating going to the dentist, I have no dental insurance (and have to pay the bills on a grad student budget) which means I’m doubly reluctant to go.
I just went here for a cleaning/​checkup (no drilling), but thought they did a really excellent, thorough job. they also offer a great (20%) discount to Stanford students. my bill was almost half what I paid at another denist in Palo Alto (where I did not have such a good experience…)
I will definitely come back here the next time I need a check-​up.
