This is the place go to for the woman that has everything. They have items that are appropriate for either gender, but most items tend to appeal to women. You probably don’t NEED anything from Astor, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself really COVETING many things…
The selection is vast and curious and ranges from quirky to elegant to quirky and elegant gifts. Where else can you get a felt mushroom or a ceramic origami nun ornament? I bought my mom a lovely silk scarf, and it was gift wrapped beautifully. Some of the items are pricey, but it’s a boutique — not Target. Last time I checked Target did not provide complimentary gift wrapping.

This is one of those places that is fun to shop at when you’re not looking for anything in particular. It may not be well organized but there are a ton of cute tiers, pillows, cheese boards, picture frames, etc. I especially love that some items are paris themed.

This is simply a fabulous store. The products vary greatly. There is something there for everyone on your gift list. It is eclectic and always fun to go in and see the many products they sell. The store is always stocked with holiday specialty items, as well as timeless favorites. My only issue is that my favorite sales person is leaving soon. Jill F. has, been a wonderful asset to Astor. She is always willing to show me all the new items. She knows all about the inventory, and she is detail oriented, so the specifics of each item are always on the tip of her tongue. All in all, Astor is my number one go– to shop in the area for awesome gifts for anyone.

Was just here a few weeks ago for Mother’s Day gifts. I have stopped by several times — mainly when i need a gift for mom and mother-​in-​law. I’ve always been able to find something… even if its not for the moms. There is usually one or two people working and they have always been friendly. One of the girls (Jill) and I had a great conversation about our dogs last time i was there. She was very helpful and honest and gave me her true opinion about an item. I really appreciate that… you usually tend to get sales people who say «that looks great or I have one as well» just to get a sale, not Jill! I would recommend visiting next time your are at Town & Country and it doesn’t hurt that they are located over by my favorite sandwich shop (Village Cheese House).

I can’t believe it took me this long to come across AG&H given the number of times I’ve been to Town and Country. I never drove that far back in the shopping center until Trader Joes opened up. When I asked how long they’ve been at this location she said 2 years. Wow, that’s a long time to survive given the years of construction. Thankfully that’s finally done.
This place truly is a hidden gem. With so many home boutique shops going out of business I’m thrilled to have found a new one. The store is eye candy, there’s so many things I could buy I have to hold myself back!
The staff is friendly and knowledgable. I ended up buying one item from their sales table (great deals there) and a beautiful lavender french cache pot for a really good price (better than any I had seen anywhere else and less expensive than Pierre D.) The store carries high quality unique items. Whoever is buying for this store has really good taste, I like their style. Good stopover on the way to Stanford Mall.

Everything in this shop is excellent. If you need a small hostess gift or just want to treat yourself to something extraordinary. Astor has it. Love this shop.

Terrible service.
I went in because I saw some organic bedding marked down through the window. I’ve been in the market for some bedding recently and would have purchased a set on the spot if the service hadn’t been so dreadful.
The items in the store are nice enough, but nothing I’d go back for.
Maybe I didn’t look like I had a lot of money to buy anything — but even so, especially in silicon valley, you never know, and being rude and condescending to the only customers in your entire store is not good business.
My questions about bedding were ignored entirely, at which point I gave up and wandered the store. The saleswoman on duty spent the entire time chatting on the phone, until she suspected we might be «breaking store rules» and then came over to chew us out and basically kicked us out. (We weren’t stealing or damaging anything…) I was not once offered assistance even when I specifically asked for it. For a small store with no other customers to speak of, I was appalled at the poor service. They lost a several hundred dollar sale to terrible service and I will not be back, nor do I recommend this store to anyone for any reason. There are plenty of other more pleasant stores along similar lines to support.

It’s true, this is a hidden gem. I passed by many times before entering this store, and once I did I fell in love. I didn’t realize from the outside, the wonders that lay within. What a great selection of wonderful things. Truly the perfect destination for almost any gift for anyone. How lovely.

Fabulous store! I could spend all day in there! They have a fabulous selection of cute gifts and housewares, most with a shabby chic feel. Perfect place to pick up a gift, for a friend, or yourself! The staff is super nice and friendly as well! This is a hidden gem in Palo Alto!

Whenever I go into Anthropologie, I get drunk on their housewares section. Dishes, drawer pulls, pillows, vases, POM POM THROWS! What if Anthropologie had an entire home store? Well, with Astor, they do. Not directly, obvs. But as good as. Astor is filled with a dizzying array of lovely, quirky home goods — half French-​boho, half handmade-​nation. I want my entire house to look like the interior of this store. Cake stands, aprons, dishtowels, jewelry, you name it. They even sell Catstudio pillows and teatowels — something I’ve had difficulty finding in the Bay Area. I went yesterday and am going back today to probably buy a Catstudio pillow. Or at least think really hard about it while looking at the Gianna Rose soaps and wondering if my fiancé will let me put soap shaped like baby animals in our bathroom.
So in summary: come here if you need a present for any lady in your life — including yourself.

Good news guys, all that agony over finding a gift for Mothers Day, Valentines’ Day, Easter, Flag Day etc is over; this new store in Town & Country is loaded with stuff that will fill this need quite nicely. Not much for NBA memorabilia or beer cozies, but lots of great ideas for gifts for the gals when you need one. For myself, I’ll stick to REI, but when the pressure’s on to get a nice gift for your wife, girlfriend, etc. this is a good bet.

What a delightful addition to Town and Country Village. Astor is a beautiful store filled with amazing treasures and unique gifts. Lots of fun items for the home and some truly beautiful pieces as well. The price points seem to run a wide range, so you can walk out with great things and not feel guilty, or you can go big. Carrie, the owner, has a remarkable eye and like her store, is very warm and welcoming. I know where I’ll be buying all my presents from now on.
