Western Edge Auto Center

I am a long time Customer and expect to remain one. I have never received the type of service that Western Edge provides, anywhere else. I have grown to expect prompt and excellent service from them and have not been disappointed. Plus, they are so personable!
I would be remiss if I didn’t give recognition to Melissa. She is pretty, she is nice and she knows her cars.
It is always a pleasant experience when I deal with Western Edge.

Kris was very professional. I trusted them with all the recommended repairs in my 16y.o. car. The work was done perfectly and in a timely manner. Price is reasonable and they are not pushy. I will be a regular customer from now on.

I was looking for a reputable place to get my transmission fluid changed and I found Western Edge on Unilocal with plenty of good reviews. I gave them a shot. I’m glad I did. Melissa has been great to deal with and the whole team seems genuinely interested in providing good service.
The prices are fair and the service is excellent. I would recommend this auto shop for anybody looking to have service on their vehicle.

This place if I could would get zero stars. Is all I have to say is read your fine print closely the 12 month warranty you get on some stuff is very specific. The girl at the front desk before she even knew what my boyfriend was asking about it was immediately dismissive of it as if even if it’s good were gonna be charged. Bottom line took my car in for A/​C service last year was a bit pricey but got it working. Well my A/​C went out again knew I had to have a leak then. Took it back to them. They run a diagnostic test after dismissing the warranty question and determine there is a leak. Okay we agree to fix the leak a simple O ring. Okay they come back saying something went wrong. Well something went wrong to me means you did something. Well it isn’t sealing and suddenly I need a new Air compressor. The diagnostic test they ran was the dye test. They did not follow protocol and do a full on diagnostic and test everything including the air compressor pretty much make sure everything is functioning before trying to fix the problem. No they didn’t think to do that so they immediately went to the O ring because they saw a leak. So point is make sure whatever they are doing for you they are doing throughlly. You are a mechanic shop I’m an average everyday person and even I thought you should have done a full on check and only after I was charged up the a** from them did I learn they did not do the full check they only did the dye test and did not resolve anything. I’m not saying they are the reason my air compressor is now out, but who knows ! but before charging me for other things make sure the whole system is working.

Thanks for the service. They were hones professional and didnt over charge. I brought my van her to get the heater hose T and air filter changed. They were done in no time. Thx again

I have been coming to Western Edge for over a year now and I highly recommend this auto repair shop. They are honest and direct. I have seen this to not always be the case with mechanics but not here. They will explain that are not always the cheapest, but the service will be the best. I can attest to this being the case. They make quick and CORRECT diagnosis. I have had a tune up, thermostat housing replaced and transmission done here. After all repairs Melissa has personally called to make sure everything is going smooth. They even had me return after 500 miles of my transmission being replaced to do a quick check. I would recommend this place to anyone. I will continue to take my 06 Explorer here.

Excellent, saved me HUNDREDS over dealership prices, once again!

Halfway between SLC and Palmdale, my 2001 Ford Windstar started loosing power and running bad. Wasn’t sure it was gonna make the rest of the trip. I got a reference from a co worker and I pulled these guys (and girl) up on the net and placed my bet. WINNER!!! I get that auto repair isn’t cheap but this crew knows their stuff and you will get honest, quality work without nickle and diming you on stuff that doesn’t need to be fixed.

I have an ’07 BMW with 94,000 miles on it. I took it to the nearest BMW dealer for an oil change and told the service writer there was an unknown mechanical problem with it. They ran a diagnostic test ($ 150) and couldn’t find any problem. Basically told me it has to get worse before they can do anything.
A week later «worse» arrived. Luckily I had been researching auto repair shops on Unilocal the day before and was in the vicinity of Western Edge Auto, so I pulled in and asked the girl behind the desk (Melissa) if they work on BMW’s. «Yes» she says so I explain what the problem is, I still don’t have a CHECK ENGINE light coming on, so a mechanic goes with me on a test drive. During the test drive the CHECK ENGINE light finally came on and we drove back to the shop to hook it up to the diagnostic machine. Long story not so long, my car basically needed a tune up! It’s now running like new, and I’m thankful I’ve found a repair facility that is honest and reliable.

This review is long overdue. I’ve been coming here for a while now and will continue to do so. They do very good work at more than reasonable prices and I trust them with both my Lexus sedan and diesell Ford truck. They’ve never tried to upsell me on anything and I recommend them highly. This is truly one of the rare gems in the A.V.

I have had two of my cars serviced by Western Edge and have been incredibly happy with the service they provided. They did excellent work, and it was done in a very reasonable amount of time.
For me, it’s always incredibly hard to find a mechanic that I feel is being honest and upfront since I know so little about cars. When I first called in and spoke to Melissa (who is awesome), I got a good vibe. I had several things serviced on my Durango and overall, I felt their prices are fair. I don’t think it would be any less expensive anywhere else that provides quality parts and quality work.
It’s always painful to fork over money for a car that you weren’t expecting to have issues come up, so it’s good to know you get what you pay for here. Both of my vehicles have been running great since I brought them to Western Edge. I highly recommend their services and will be coming back here the next time I need to.

Yes, they are pricey, but I’ve never been stirred wrong. I’ve gone to other places and had issues immediately after.

Melissa and the guys at Western Edge are great. None of us want to take our cars in the shop but if you want quality work and service, this is the auto shop you want. I’ve taken my Dodge Ram and Mustang to them and when I need work done in the future I will be back. Two thumbs up!

I live in Bishop, Ca and was driving home from Orange County last weekend on Saturday afternoon in my wife’s 2003 Ford Escape SUV that has 148k miles on it. I was on the 14 Freeway northbound about 8 miles south of Palmdale, CA and the car broke down. As I was waiting for a flatbed tow vehicle to come and transport me and my vehicle off of the side of the freeway, I was researching automobile service centers in the area on the internet with my phone to try to find a reputable and fair one.
Western Edge Auto Center had excellent ratings and is a family-​owned and run business based in Palmdale for many years. I tried to call them, but since it was late Saturday afternoon, they were closed. I took a chance and had the tow driver drop me and my vehicle at Western Edge. Fortunately, my wife was following me home a few hours later from OC in my car and after hanging out in a Starbucks for 2 hours she picked me up and we went on to Bishop.
On Monday, I called Western Edge and spoke to the owner, Kris. Kris was great and said he’d be happy to have the vehicle checked-​out for a modest diagnostic fee and he would call me on Tuesday which he did. When Kris called, I was unavailable, but I called back when I could and spoke to Melissa who was also great. She said the alternator was bad and needed to be replaced. I told her I had it done less than a year ago by a shop Bishop for more than the price Melissa and Kris quoted me and told Melissa I would like to check with my shop in Bishop to see if they would warrant it. Melissa said she totally understood and to just let her know what I wanted to do. Turns out, my shop will warrant the work they did if I could get the vehicle back to Bishop which is almost cost-​free due to my AAA towing service plan — very fortunate!
Today, I called Melissa to say I was going to have the vehicle transported back to Bishop for repair under warranty. Melissa was totally cool about it and said that would be fine. I asked her what I owed them for the diagnostic and the storage for what will end up being 1.5 to 2 weeks by the time I get the vehicle back to Bishop and she said «nothing for the storage as it is not in our way» and a total of $ 59 for the diagnostic.
If I lived closer to Palmdale, I would have Western Edge service my vehicles based on this experience and if my shop in Bishop hadn’t been willing to fix the vehicle on warranty, I would have been very happy to have Western Edge replace the alternator for me (they warrant their work well too).
I just want to thank Kris and Melissa for their fair and honest treatment of someone who is not local to their area. I would recommend them and Western Edge Auto Service to anyone!

I just recently moved to Palmdale and was in search of a good honest mechanic. I found them when I stepped into the Western edge. Kris and Melissa were very thorough on what I needed on my car. I needed my 2 front axles replaced as well as my rack and pinion. Yikes!!! I though it was going to cost me the price of a down payment for a new car but it actually was very reasonable. They warranty their work so that is also a plus. I have found my new mechanic at Western Edge. Thanks again Kris and Melissa for bringing piece of mind when dealing with my cars!
