Specialties

Orland Math Whiz provides outstanding one-on-one private tutoring from pre-K to 12, college students and adults. For your convenience, I tutor anywhere you wish: in a public setting like a coffee shop or library; or somewhere private, like your home or office. I tutor Basic Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Single-Variable Calculus, Multi-Variable Calculus, AP Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Language Arts, Essay Writing, and CAHSEE Prep.

All tutoring is specifically built and customized for each individual based on their academic needs and learning style. Math follows a set of laws or rules and is highly accumulative. Mastery of these rules is vital to one’s success. Thus, I teach my students the basics and help them master these laws with exercises and homework problems. I also teach them valuable study skills to help improve their grades. I help students find various ways to solve problems to maximize their learning and to enhance their knowledge and retention. I explain the materials step-by-step in an easy to understand language. I take the extra step to help students achieve their desired academic goals.

Education is my passion! I enjoy giving back, sharing the knowledge, and mentoring. I am an experienced tutor who has immense knowledge, tremendous patience, endless enthusiasm, and awesome passion for teaching! Learning is a lifelong process that extends beyond the classroom. So, why take a chance with anyone else?

History

Established in 2004.

Yelp newbie, but I’ve been a freelance tutor for over 11 years. Also, while at UCLA, I tutored Pre-calculus, Calculus, and Linear Algebra for three years. I volunteered to tutor Single-variable Calculus and Multi-variable Calculus, as well as Statistics at the Antelope Valley College (AVC) for a year and a half. I work part-time for a non-profit organization, helping under-privileged children. It’s heart-warming to me to be able to help these students accomplish their academic goals. I’ve helped many FAA employees throughout my career with their electronics technician math courses. I’ve always enjoyed math, and I found my passion to teach through these experiences.

My private tutoring business grew from my deep desire to give back. I was fortunate to have awesome teachers and mentors who gave me solid educational foundation for success. It is my way of paying forward, sharing my knowledge, and creating better students. I instill confidence in my students and prepare them for success!
