Vintage Nursery

This is a lovely nursery. Feels like a private garden. Very pleasant place for a stroll. We found some modern-​style pots that were nicer than anything we could find elsewhere. The guy who helped us loaded the pots into the car. He could not have been more pleasant or helpful. We will certainly come back.

I’ve had great experiences with Vintage. The staff there always has a lot of good info to impart and are happy to help when I ask for advice. I’ve gone in there with extremely random requests that require extra effort, like «I want a tree that doesn’t get any higher than 20 feet, is drought tolerant and architectural — show me what you got.» The footprint of the Palm Springs location is relatively modest, but they can get inventory sent over from their other larger location within a day. They are very responsive, intelligent about plants and landscape design and have always had a great attitude.

What’s with all the negativity? I found good friendly service, and a clearance sale. Drive by and you might miss it but it’s a diamond in the rough for the full sun climate gardener!

Let me start by saying I miss Aunt Effie’s. ALOT. The first time I went to vintage was the day they were having a private party. The nursery was open and I wandered around no one looked at me or asked if they could help. It was never like that before. I finally stopped someone — a catering person — and they told me that it was a private party being setup. Ideally it would have been great if they had closed off the nursery. Silly me for thinking that the doors were open for customers. Since then we have returned 4 times and we are always underwhelmed by the inventory and the service — or lack there of. So we have given up. We have purchased alot and
like the Vintage nursery in Bermuda Dunes but we suggest locally either Cactus Mart in Morongo Valley — great selection and great customer service or Moller’s in Palm Desert. Or better yet bring back the great attitude of Aunt Effie’s

They have a cute, small inventory, but that’s about it. It is less like a nursery, but more like a gift shop at a touristy botanical garden.
The nursery here used to be called Aunt Effie’s Gardens, but is now Vintage Garden Center. The hours have also changed so they are no longer open on Sundays.
