Business Owner

John Evans moved to Palm Springs in 1997 to follow his dream of being a home owner. Although he was born in Kentucky he moved at the age of 14 with his family to Los Angeles. As John grew older he continued to love and enjoy L.A., however the real estate prices were out of his reach so he eventually bought a home in Palm Springs. The initial plan was to be a part time resident however he quickly found himself not wanting to return to the «big city». He was fortunate that his career at this time as a Territory Manager for various insurance companies allowed him the flexibility to move full time to Palm Springs and work from home.

In 2002 John joined the mortgage lending industry with intentions of working part time in the industry as a «working hobby». Always being detailed oriented and having a passion for real estate he quickly thrived in the industry and after 2 years of working for other brokers he opened Contempo Lending in December, 2004.

Michael at Contempo Lending is a rock star! He is knowledgeable about lending options in the Coachella Valley – especially loans on Indian lease land and jumbo loans. And, «difficult» lending situations. We had been through every major bank – and at least a dozen brokers – before we found Michael. All of the other lenders bailed pretty quickly when they realized our loan would be difficult. But, Michael was undeterred and persevered for more than a year to find a solution for our refinance. His assistant Amanda is a pleasure to work with, too! You will not be disappointed if you call Michael for some home lending help.

I am soooo pleased!!! I wish I could give Contempo 10 stars because they deserve it. Am self employed and have tried to refinance elsewhere, had to do all kinds of paperwork and I still wasn’t approved. John, Cary and Diane are friendly, knowledgeable and super easy to work with. Even when I freaked out when my condo was appraised for way less than we were hoping for, they still made it work. The HARP refi doc’s were signed this past Saturday. Thank you Contempo!
