Been here twice while in the area & food is edible but NOTHING great. It’s definitely overpriced for the quality & taste. It’s more expensive than any other taco shop I’ve been to, but it’s the location. If you want good Mexican, skip this place & go somewhere else.

I needed a quick lunch, and this is my go-to place for carnitas tacos. I have to say, it’s the only thing I’ve tried, but they are always SOFANTASTIC that I don’t want to try anything else. It’s the best pork, tender and juicy, and the salsa bar is great, pretty typical for a taquaria. The price for 2 good sized tacos is under $ 5, and it fills me up. I highly recommend this place. I don’t know why some of the reviews are so old, or why people have had pricing issues. I haven’t.

I will never come here again. the food is great but if you’re planning on using your credit card they will over charge you. this will not come up on your receipt but when you check your bank account the total will be $ 5 or $ 10 over what you thought you paid. they are stealing your hard earned money right out of your card without you knowing. they should no longer be in business. they think they can get away with stealing from loyal customers.

From all that to none of that. We’ve noticed before that the prices ring up for more than what is listed on the menu board. When we’ve questioned it, there is always an excuse: the prices just went up and they«haven’t changed the board yet.» This has been going on for a few years. A few weeks ago, I posted a tip to be cautious of the prices ringing up different from what is posted because they frequently overcharge. Their response was to put up a small piece of paper on their large overhead menu board that states: «Some prices have changed check the new model menu for prices. Sorry for any inconvenience.» I don’t know what is a «model» menu. The overhead board menu, paper menu on the tables and cash register charges all three vary. We asked for the receipt tonight and we were told the machine wouldn’t print it out for us. So for this reason, tonight was our last night here.

I ordered 2 shrimp cocktails and I was afraid it wouldn’t be enough for my friend and I, so I ordered 4 tacos. It came out to around $ 40, which I thought was high. The shrimp cocktail was phenomenal, but the tacos were disgusting. They were so dry and had no flavor. I couldn’t even finish a second bite. I informed the young lady that works here and she didn’t seem to care. I wasn’t looking for my money back for the tacos, but I would have considered trying something else. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Arrived one hour before close. Place was empty, but it was Sunday night… We ordered some street tacos and a quesadilla with asada. The meat looks and taste like it was cooked three days ago and then recooked a few more times. It was not good, in fact we all left most of our food. The chips tasted like everything on the menu. I assume based on the taste, food is reused for several days and reheated over and over. The oil in the fryer does not seemed to have been changed in a while. I would not consider anything on this menu fresh! I would not recommend this place…

Just came home from Taqueria Sinaloense. This place is a «hole in the wall» where you order at the counter. This was my second visit and the staff was really friendly both times. Tonight we arrived one hour before close and were the only patrons. They were almost done cleaning up. They were really gracious about making us dinner so close to closing. Definitely service with a smile! The fajita’s are great, my husband has gotten them both times. I had the crunchy taco’s at my last visit and a wet burrito this evening. I thought the fajitas were best and my husband thought my burrito was best. The prices are really reasonable(downright cheap!) for the quality and quantity of food served. If you are in the neighborhood and would like some tasty Mexican food, please stop here. Come as you are, the place is not fancy. The service and food are excellent and a great value for the price. I’m looking forward to many more delicious, casual meals to come.

This was a nice place, although the food itself was no better than any other place around, it was priced fair and the servings were large. The service is good too.

Run of the mill taqueria… food is decent, service is sort of lacking… if you’re in the mood to just eat something, this is your place! Burritos are slightly dry, but the Al Pastor is good. A little bit friendlier service from the counter girls would be nice, maybe a smile or two…

Id like to think I just had a bad experience but the way they run things here is horrible. I was over charged and given a beef burrito when I asked for a bean burrito. The chef in the back doesn’t look like he is a day older than 16 and when they served us our food the girl was prepared to go table to table asking if it was their food. I can go on but it’s not going to change anything. The only reason I gave two stars was because despite having gotten the wrong plate the food was pretty good. But who knows how my stomach will feel in a few hours.

Really yummy food! I got the tacos… carnitas & carne asada… Both were delish! There’s a Salsa Bar! Mmmm Chips & Salsa are free for orders over $ 5 plus or minus… I can’t remember the exact detail… I’ll update this when I go back… Chips are nice & thin & crispy… :-) I want to try the Chile Relleno next time… My dad really enjoyed his Torta… Can’t remember what my brother ordered but he is picky & ate all his food… :) There are also a variety of beverages like Horchata, Jamaica, & one more traditional Mexican drink… oh, Tamarindo… oops brain freeze for a sec… Haha. These beverages came out of a dispenser & don’t taste as authentic as they could… I know because I’ve made homemade Jamaica & Tamarindo… There are also self serve sodas… Location is near Sub King, Harvest Health Foods on the south side of Hwy 111… Between Portola & San Luis Rey…

I am not a fan… Stopped in here late one night with the girls for a beer and a taco. We were starving and it was getting late so we saw the neon beer signs in the window and thought. let’s do this. We walked in and ordered, and were told that they lost their license, and don’t have any alcohol, we were bummed but we ordered anyway. I had the carnitas tacos and my friend had the carne asada taco combo. Her tacos were decent as were the rice and beans, but my carnitas were so greasy that the tortillas were soaked and I could barely eat them. Also they charge you to use your credit card… really?!? I don’t think I’ll come back.

3.5 out of 5. Chips were too thin, no lime, and have me a Corona instead of a Pacifica. Other than that the food was good, good portion size(not typical American size for two) and attentive service. I would go again.

Super friendly cashier. Had the carne asada burrito & lengua taco. The burrito came with rice, beans & white cheese inside. Both very good! Comp chips & good salsa bar. This little joint has a bar & is nice & clean though nothing fancy. I’d def stop here again. Decent prices too.

The only reason why I’m not giving them all 5 stars is because they need to expand!(Well, that and because their ice machine had just broke… So our drinks were warm). I live in the inland empire and find myself going here on the rare occasions I’m in the desert. The staff are friendly and the food is great. Coming from a Mexican, that’s saying something. It’s not the classiest affair in the area, but the food makes up for it. If you’re looking for authentic style Mexican food that is filling and very reasonably priced… Go here. Don’t be fooled by the other ‘Mexican’ or ‘Mexican-Fusion’ eateries out there… This is the real deal!

Don’t let the divey, strip mall appearance fool you. I first came here, ordering the Combo plate of Carnitas… all I can say is OMG. The slow-roasted, shredded pork had this succulent crunchiness to it that made my entire mouth go crazy. Combined with the killer Roasted Chipotle salsa and Pico de Gallo — it was pure Heaven, in a hole in the wall. When you find yourself asking for more Tortillas… you know the portions are hearty here. The chips are non-greasy, very fresh and crunchy. I’m coming back to try them all!

I don’t have a hispanic background and few years ago the defination of good Mexican food to me was Del Taco or Taco Bell. However, in the recent years due to excess traveling assignment, I was able to experience different type of crusin and learn more about the Mexican food. This little establismet was by far the best Mexican restaurant I had so far. Pros: Great food. Everytime I come here I order something different. So far out of my 6 visit they have not disappoint me. Great price. Yes the price is not as cheap as Taco Bell or other fast food place, but it was very reasonable for the taste. Friendly staff. The girl behind the counter was very nice and curtious. Cons: I can’t think of any. Conclusion: I will definately come back whenever I visit Palm Desert.

Good stuff. It’s a dive-ish restaurant with Mexican food. I stopped in late one night after my original choice turned out to be shut down(I’ve updated the Unilocal listing). It was close to closing, so they were out of the special, caldo de res. They were out of a few other things, too, and were apologetic. I’ll know to get there earlier next time. But what we did have was good. My tacos al pastor were delicious, and the bf’s carne asada was good. Salsas were fresh and tasty. This may become our go-to Mexican place close to home.

Stopped in late on a Sunday night. The young lady behind the counter was less-than-pleased that we came in 30 minutes before closing. I’m sure she was hoping to get everything cleaned and ready for closing by closing. Color me a party crasher. Jeff ordered a chicken taco(soft), beans, rice and a small guacamole. I got the #7: chile relleno and beef taco. The chicken on Jeff’s taco had good flavor, but he thought it was tough. He really liked the beans and rice. The guacamole was a total joke. For a $ 1.29 he got a small(salsa sized) guacamole. I can’t imagine what the large might look like, 1⁄3 of a cup? That was a total rip-off. My chile relleno had a good flavor to it. I was pleasantly surprised to not find the stem in the chile! The egg batter around the chile wasn’t too greasy nor tough. The beef taco was fine, though the shredded beef was a bit dry in places. I wasn’t impressed by the rice, so I dumped a small guacamole-sized bit of salsa on the rice and it was much better. The beans had the perfect amount of fat-to-bean ratio, but they were just a tad saltier than I like. I got some iced tea that was dark brown and powerful good. A super drunk guy came in to order a burrito. He ordered a beer. I don’t think she should have let him order, but again, she didn’t want us there, either. I think I’d go back. I was surprised to see tacos de tripas there. Most places don’t carry that. I liked the salsa they had. They also had sliced radishes. Delicious. Maybe I should go back earlier in the day. Nice wide chairs.
