Smog Stop

Easily the best experience I have had getting my car smogged. Made an appointment and was seen right away. Owner was friendly and quick. In and out in about 25 minutes. Will definitely recommend.

i needed to get a smog test done for my out of country vehicle.
Ken was able to see my vehicle within 2 hours of calling (on a Saturday) and even checked my tire pressure to ensure I would be safe on the road!
I greatly appreciated the quick and friendly service and felt cared for with the service I received.
I will definitely recommend them to other Canadians I know as they provided service that reminded me of what I may get at home.

I just bought my car from out of state, and the state of California requires any car bought out of state to be smogged. So, a friend referred me to Smog Stop and I was pleased as ever! I believe these two men are a father/​son duo. They were honest, kind and just that good old small business type guys that have been in business forever and do a great job. With all the old family photos on the wall, you know you are conducting business with values and a sincere heart. Their prices are about the same as everyone else. I paid $ 70. They asked me how I heard about them, and I told them that a friend referred me. I will be referring them to my friends now. I am always more than happy to support the good, local, small businessmen!!!

A small family owned shop, central in Palm Desert. Fast, friendly, easy. Don’t bother going anywhere else for biennial smog. They even check tire pressure ! Thanks Ken and Cody.

Wow! This man is so nice. You simply don’t find a lot of good people anymore. He went above and beyond a simple smog check and helped out in a bunch of ways. He offered very useful advice on all our car questions and even offered to check our tire pressure. Was having a bad day n somehow I left there with a warm fuzzy feeling. Will use him in the future for all my smog checks for sure.

I’m just so glad they’re open today as this is my only available day this week before it’s due. Service was good, the waiting area is comfortable and Ken was very nice, he even offered me a cold bottle of water! I’m now here waiting for the smog check to finish. But so far, so good.

I received EXCELLENT service from start to finish!
I needed my car smog certified and I was only in town for 24 hours. Little did I know 99.9% of the smog check businesses in the Coachella Valley close at 3pm on Saturdays and are closed on Sunday’s. After calling business after business, I was almost ready to accept defeat. Thank goodness my next call was to Ken at Smog Stop. We spoke on the phone and he waited for me to make it to his shop. By the time I arrived, it was close to 5:00 on Saturday (and can I add… it was 116 degrees outside). Unfortunately, my cars onboard computer was not cooperating, so he kindly offered to meet me at his shop on Sunday morning… his day off.
So, Sunday morning… Ken performed the smog check (on his day off)…my car passed… and I avoided paying DMV late charges.
Rarely do we see this type of exceptional customer service. Thank you Ken for the great job you do. I hope so many others have the opportunity to experience your professionalism.

I’m pretty sure all of us have had the dreaded SMOG experience. Let’s be honest; none of us want to do it, but it’s an unfortunate necessity.
But lucky for me, a client of mine referred me to Smog Stop. The best part is that this place works by appointment, just call ahead and schedule. This eliminates the awful sitting and waiting part that goes along with most smog places. The owner was friendly, prompt, had a comfortable waiting area, and made the whole experience a pleasant 30 minutes and I was out the door.
If you need a smog, this is where you NEED to be. No reason to go anywhere else.

We recently had our motorhome smogged at Smog Stop and it was a GREAT experience. They were able to schedule an appointment on a Saturday, which is hard to find. We arrived early and they were just finishing up the previous customer. They schedule appropriately as the next customer was just arriving as we were leaving. The technician was friendly and knowledgable. It is rare that you leave after a smog check and feel like you have been treated so well and respectfully. By far the best smog check experience we have ever had

Made a same day appointment and dropped off my car because there were several people ahead of me. I returned at my scheduled time and my car was ready. The owner is very friendly and explains everything thoroughly. Great customer service and great price!

Called 4 shops and no one was opened on Friday of thanksgiving weekend. Brought my 05 impreza in for a smog check. 65 $ and no one to wait for. Pleasant owner and good service.
