Penny Lane is an ode to my Grandmother, Neva J Riggs. One of the most amazing women I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her eclectic style and her love for all things weird shaped the person I am today and inspired my pretty, little shop.

Shopping was always a pastime my Grandmother and I enjoyed together. In my Grandmother’s opinion, nothing was off-​limits when it came to fashion and her passion was passed down to my Mom and myself. Avid vintage shoppers, I was encouraged to find my own style… And believe me, I tried just about everything! It has all inspired and cultivated the style I have today. Which I cannot seem to categorize. I wear what I like and what makes me feel beautiful.

I want Penny Lane to be that same inspiration for each person that steps through the door. The store is hand curated with a sharp eye for trend, but we also offer the classic basics we all need. The shop offers new, fashion forward lines, awesome vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, luxury bath and body products, vegan candles, as well as great gift items.

Come in. Have fun. Play dress up. Anything goes. It’s only clothes.

And as my Grandmother always said, «If shopping makes you tired, sit down and try on some shoes.»

It’s August in palm desert and many stores are closed. I called Penny Lane and the owners were incredibly nice to offer to open the store just for my daughter and I when we got to town. So much fun! The owners take great care in hand picking the items with a particular eye towards a younger, hipper vibe than you would expect on El Paseo. There are awesome $ 5, $ 10 and $ 20 racks among the vintage items plus a small selection of new clothes and jewelry. We scored a gorgeous faux fur coat for $ 20 and almost brand new rubber «wellies» for $ 5. I will be back next time I am in town for sure.

Had the pleasure of coming across a unique and delightful store…“Penny Lane” my last visit to the desert this year from San Francisco. Was walking my dog Cherry on El Paseo and she led me into Penny Lane. She has done this in the past when she feels someone or something positive in a great business. Cherry’s keen senses were on the money again. Nice to see the type of store that are many in Bay Area and located in Palm Desert! No need to make drive to L.A. It’s an easy stop here. Lauren the owner has a great sense of fashion in the vintage items in her store. I was quite impressed with Lauren’s genuine customer service that made me feel welcome. I found the prices to be quite good for such a nice extensive inventory. I look forward to shopping and visiting «Penny Lane» again next time I visit the desert.

Who knew that there would be a vintage boutique off El Paseo. I met the owner whilst we were both working backstage on model prep for the Oscar De La Renta Spring/​Summer show. She was in make-​up and I was in hair. We were introduced and then she told me about her vintage shop… I love vintage and had to stop by before heading out of the desert. It’s worth a visit. Don’t let the fancy shops scare you away. Penny Lane is not overpriced. I like that the selection is in good condition and there is both a section for the ladies and gents. Take a look it’s so worth it! Support the local small biz.

I love, love, love this store! It’s the cutest! Finally some new, younger blood on El Paseo! Curated vintage gems, great jewelry and wonderful apothecary. Every time I leave there, I’ve bought «my new favorite thing» and always have something in mind I already want to buy next time! I love it!!!
