*** SORRY, BUTTHEIRPIZZAAIN’T «THEONE» *** The proof of any good pizza prompts my taste buds to remark, «Hey, this is THEONE… Keep eating… Have another slice… Have more!»… I am, then, brainwashed and eventually surrender my willpower… And, in less than a few days, I am ordering another pizza from the same place… My perception of authentic pizza ISNOT cookie cutter pizza, which has the consistency of a limp biscuit, topped with tomato paste and a smattering of toppings which cover up the real star, the baked pizza bread itself. On the contrary, authentic pizza IS crisp on the bottom, soft on the inside and chewy all around [almost like super-fresh artisan bread]. It is, then, complimented, not upstaged, with homemade marinara sauce, 100 percent mozzarella cheese and other high-quality ingredients and/or toppings. Many consumers [who don’t know the difference] will probably be satisfied with the pizza from their dear friend and good neighbor, Papa Dan’s… In my vast experience of eating pizza near and far, however, there is definitely MO’ BETTER pizza, elsewhere…

Horrible service! Ordered dinner to our hotel. It arrived an hour later as promised however they forgot the salad dressing. Called back right away & the manager said he would send the driver back with it. As I mentioned, in a hotel so we’re unable to eat it. Long story short, took another 30 minutes. Called back & spoke to the manager, asked him to credit the salad. He then said so you want me to credit you $ 10 for a 25 cent dressing I’m sending my driver over with now. Um yes. My friend was over it & didn’t eat the salad. Somehow I was… disconnected. Called back, spoke to a driver named Mike. Much more professional & helpful. Appreciated him crediting the tip. Won’t order here again. Manager is immature, rude & has no customer service skills. Food was good!

We have been regulars for several years now. The food is reliably good every time and the wait staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They have low turnover as we have seen the same waiters for years.

The guy who answered the phone on June 11 at 6:40pm is a total idiot. Completely rude and annoyed that I asked if they delivered. I hope he crashes on the way home and dies. Your pizza sucks too.

We came by tonight from a recommendation from some locals to the area. They said the pizzas here are amazing. We were seated right away by the host. We received a basket of bread with fresh garlic and butter. My husband added oil to the garlic and we used it as dipping sauce. The bread was an amazing start to our meal. We ended up ordering the zucchini sticks for our appetizer, our entrée was a large Papa Dan’s specialty pizza cooked well done, and a house salad with ranch on the side. The waiters and waitresses were so attentive. Our drinks were always full and they cleared our plates so fast. The pizza was deliciously awesomely good. The zucchini was freshly made and the ranch dipping sauce was great. My husband had asked for a side of marinara sauce and it came out piping hot. Overall, I would definitely come back when visiting in the Palm Desert area.

Have to contradict the poor service reviews, our first time here and everyone was great, from the greeting at the door to the waiter and table staff. Food was great too, casual italian, nothing over the top, just good food, and good portions

Great pizza! My husband and I ordered a large meat lovers. We were very happy with the pizza and the sauce is very good. They put a lot of meat on the pizza — huge plus! You could tell when meat started sliding off the pizza slice as you waited to devour it. My husband and I did takeout on a Tuesday pm, so I can’t comment on service for dining. The cashier that helped us was prompt and very courteous. If we are ever in palm desert again, I will make a second appearance.

For years during our vacationing in Palm Desert we would make a stop at Papa Dans. We liked their pizza mostly but when we had a meal that was also very satisfying. However lately it seems things are slipping. We went there last night with some friends and were disappointed. Food was bland, service well let me put it to you this way our male server acted as if he was scared of us. He hardly spoke and when he did it was more of a whisper. Portions seemed smaller than I can remember as well. This has now happened to us more than once so I think we will stop visiting them for awhile.

Classic somewhat old-school Italian joint. Food is great, and the vino pours are excellent. Everyone who works there is super nice. Love this place!

Our first time visit here was okay. We arrived and were seated right away which we did like because it was Easter. We were seated at a two top along a couch area west of the entrance. Our server Milan was very nice and delivered good service. Our food was also good. Only complaint would be how close our table and everyone’s table is to one another. We couldn’t carry a conversation without hearing the ladies talk about politics or the couple next to us argue. Talk about being uncomfortable. We more than likely won’t come here again for a holiday or simply a day when we want to talk. I understand when you try to maximize seating but if it is going to affect your dining experience than its not worth it.

We’ve bought pizza’s from Papa Dan’s for many years, and I’ve been rating them a «4». The one we had last night was awful. Way overcooked, to the point that the only taste was the salt in the anchovies. The crust was tough, like corrugating medium. The cheese was cooked away. Had we been at the restaurant, I’d have sent it back.
But, we had it delivered. So, I called them to ask for a credit. I was told to come in and speak to the manager. It’s time to find another pizza place.

Food: 5⁄5; Service: 2⁄5; I think customers could have more attention– also according to my grandma they need to learn how to serve a cake… for bonus points, complimentary candles. For critics, the service doesn’t meet standards at all… Staff are minimal. Atmosphere: 3⁄5; No apparent«theme» to dining, but not a large part of rate.

Love the pizza! We make sure to come by at least once everytime we are in town. It’s usually packed which says alot about the local following. The inside has a quaint small Italian restaurant feel, colors and all. Traditional Italian music usually rounding out the ambiance. They also have some overflow outside seating out front which is nice on most afternoons when it gets a little warm inside. I have tried several of there pizza’s over the years and settled on a favorite of ground beef, mushroom, red onion, and jalapeño. There is a little hint of anise in the sauce which is different and nice. We always get regular crust, it fills you up nicely. Their garlic bread and Greek salad are also dynamite. I have not tried the pastas or anything else off the menu because in a pizza joint I’m focused on just that. Have a bottle of Chianti to put the cherry on top. You can’t go wrong.

I LOVE this place. It’s surprising to see it only have an average of 3 star review, because every time I’ve been here the place is packed. Any time we are in Palm Springs we have to make sure to come have the pizza at least one night. You can tell the pizza sauce is house made or a specialty, because it has a slightly different flavor than other pizza sauces. The crust is well done, the perfect thickness. And they put on a good amount of toppings. We always get a ground beef, mushroom, onion and jalapeño pizza since that’s what we like, and its delicious. The garlic cheese bread is amazing, as is the greek salad. If I could move this pizza place to be near my home so I could have it any time I wanted, I definitely would! No place is like it!

The shrimp and scallops were very overcooked, would not recommend it. Also the food took ten minutes longer than they said it would, which would explain the overcooking of the seafood. Overpriced and overcooked.

Sufficient pizza place. We ordered delivery when we stayed overnight in the area. It was okay, not awesome by any means. Lacked consistency because we ordered three pizzas, and all three were made differently. One was a lot thicker than the others and it kinda looked like we ordered pizza from different places, which was weird. We didn’t try the pasta. Not a bad choice for pizza, but wish it were better. Not very many choices in the area. The delivery guy was very nice and accommodating, if that matters.

This place isn’t bad at all! I heard some mixed reviews so I came to check it out myself. There’s a lot more than pizza on the menu. Calamari, seafood, and wide variety of other foods. Taste: 3.5÷5 Presentation: 3⁄5 Service: 4⁄5
