About us

Servicing the Coachella Valley, Chris Hegarty Plumbing is family owned and operated. Chris Hegarty has over 20 years experience in plumbing. Originally trained as a union plumber, Chris Hegarty has since ventured off and started his own business.

Hours of Operation:

Monday through Friday 7am-​5pm. Saturday 8am-​4pm Call for an appointment.

After hours and Sunday service also available in emergency situations.

My name is Christy Lynn and I am the CFO, CMO of Chris Hegarty Plumbing, Inc. I have an extensive background in business development, management and entrepreneurship. Chris has brought me into the office in hopes to bring this company back to life. Beginning in March 2013 the company went through a very difficult time, but as of August 25, 2015 it is back under the management of Christopher Hegarty and myself. Chris built this company on integrity, family values, great craftsmanship, affordable pricing and quality work — the very things I desire in a company. This is our foundation.

Chris and James came out to my Rancho Mirage home and fixed a toilet. They showed up on time, had the proper parts and fixed the toilet. They were neat and left my bathroom as clean as they found it. I will definitely call them with any future plumbing needs!

Needed 2 toilets installed. Called Hegarty Plumbing and scheduled next day install. When Chris and James arrived, the toilets were too tall for the space, the info online was not accurate. As James was packing the toilets for return, Chris was checking on finding 2 toilets to fit. He did this before we even had a chance to ask him! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL. By the time we took the toilets back the guys were back and had the new one installed in no time. AWESOME!!! Will only use Hegarty for any future plumbing issues.

My roommate in the dez called Chris Hegarty Plumbing because we had a few issues that we let go but then it all came to a halt — leaky faucet, slow flushing toilet and slow moving shower drain. Chris’s office was able to get us on the schedule within 24 hours and Chris came out with one of his techs. He was able to access the issues right away for everything and had the parts on his truck to fix them all immediately. No Waiting AND he explained to us our different options with price differences. No pressure on what to do, only suggestions and the end result for each. He was very nice, professional and left no trace of his work when finished. Thank you CHP for fixing the problems in a timely manner and not over charging us women! :)

Recently had a problem with my toilet leaking. Called Chris Hegarty Plumbing over the holidays to fix it. Was charged over $ 100 for a flapper valve, despite my insistence that the flapper valve was NOT the problem. Plumber insisted nothing else could be done and left… so why is this a 5-​star rating? The plumber, although working for Chris Hegarty, was useless and quickly removed from Chris’ team. As part of a routine follow up, I explained what had happened and Chris, himself, wanted to «right» my experience. Chris came over, fixed the leak, rebuilt my entire toilet just to make sure nothing else would go wrong for the foreseeable future. In the end, a happy customer. Normally, this story would not warrant a 5-​star review, but I was impressed with the way Chris runs his business and ensures that the customer is satisfied, coming by himself to right any wrongs that may have occurred. Not something you see much of these days. All things considered, I will use Chris again for the next plumbing issue that arises as a result of his personal follow-​up!

Chris Hegarty plumbing is by far the best plumbing service in the desert.
Had to install a new garbage disposal and Chris was able to install within 1 hour, same day the new disposal. No ordering, no waiting, no hazel. AWESOME.
He Explained the problem of disposal, and explained recommendation of 2 or 3 types of disposals for me to choose. No upscale, or pushing for the highest price.
Very nice, helpful, courtesy, efficient, knowledgable, and professional.

We were in need of a plumber to hook up the water supply system for the ice maker/​water dispenser on our newly delivered refrigerator in our Palm Springs vacation home. The critical element for this job was the timing involved as we were in Palm Springs for only a short period before we had to return to our home in Orange County. In spite of an extremely full calendar, Chris was able to work the job in on less than 24 hours notice. The task was accomplished efficiently and in a timely manner at quite a reasonable cost. That being said, he and his assistant were quite pleasant to work with and we were left with the definite feeling that he will be our plumber of choice for future jobs in our vacation home. As we understand it, his company offers a full range of plumbing tasks and we definitely recommend him to other possible clients in the Coachella Valley.

Very pleased with this Plumber. Called on a Sunday afternoon to set up service for Monday morning. Great customer service from the first call to the completion of service. They showed up on time and were very fair price wise. Would definitely use this company again!

Extremely poor customer service & way too expensive. Booked an appointment never called or showed up. Booked another appointment & was given a time. Didn’t show. When called I was told a different time than originally then did not show up or call for that. Also charged me double for the same fixture I could have gotten at Home Depot & refused to match… It was already in so didn’t have a choice. They never discuss options or price before job.

My advice is fire the unprofessional women named Rachelle you have answering or not answering phones. The website says they are 24 hours. This is a joke and totally dishonest. I called and the person who answered, Rachelle, was completely unprofessional. I wasn’t even sure I reached a business. It became clear that the phone was forwarded to a personal cellphone and I had interrupted a 10am grocery shopping trip. I was promised for three days that she would be sending someone out for our emergency plumbing needs. No one ever came in spite of me calling back many times and leaving several messages since no one would answer the business phone. Instead I would get a text message saying they would shortly be on their way and she would call me when they were almost there. No one ever showed and never an apology except for one text message on the first day saying their truck broke down and they would be our first thing next day. Never showed up after three days of calling and calling. Chris Hegarty… get s new receptionist or stop with the false advertising that way over promises. This woman is killing your reputation as a reputable business in a small town where word spreads fast.

I called Hegarty plumbing to try and set up an appointment for them to come out to our house in La Quinta. No one answered the phone (9am weekday) so I left a message on their voicemail. By 2pm my call still was not returned so I left a second message which also never was returned.
I can’t understand how they stay in business if they do not return calls. Not a great quality for a plumber to have when you need him to fix a problem for you.

I have a vacation home in La Quinta and was in town for just two days to check on it. Found out that my burner on my water heater had gone out and had no hot water. Checked on Unilocal and a few other sources and was given Chris’ name as being one of the best plumbers in the Valley. I called and Rochelle hooked me up with an appointment early in the morning to make sure the problem was fixed in time before i had to leave. Now here is what separates good from great service. Rich showed up to fix the burner at 8:00 a.m. (right on schedule), but it wasn’t as simple as I had described it on the phone to Rochelle. Rich told me that they would have to get some additional parts (all covered under warranty) and he would be back at 5:00 p.m. to finish the repair. Now, I was a little nervous because I had to leave at 8:00 a.m. the next morning. Rich showed up at 4:45 (early!) to fix things. Then, just like you would imagine, everything that could go wrong went wrong… The old burner had a couple of other items on it that failed. Rich stayed until 7:00 p.m. to try and fix it, but couldn’t get it done that night. He promised that he would go to the distributor at 6:00 a.m. and pick up the rest of the necessary parts and be at my house by 6:45 to install everything. Not only was he on time, but had another plumber, Carlos, with him to make sure that the parts replacement and repair could definitely be completed before my deadline of 8:00 a.m. They finished everything up by 7:30 a.m., tested everything, and left me with time to spare.
Maintaining a vacation home is a hard thing to do, because you don’t know the businesses in the community when you are only in town for a few days or weeks at a time. It was a blessing to find a business that is so committed to customer service and satisfaction. Chris Hegarty Plumbing will get all of our business in the future and I can sleep a little bit easier knowing that I have found a trustworthy, quality business!
P. S. Did I mention that Chris (the owner) also called me up after the repair to just make sure that I was happy and satisfied with everything? Outstanding!

Sunday night we had a backup in our sewer main line. Chris called us back ASAP and let us know that he was currently unavailable, but provided a reference. Chris’s associate showed up within 15 minutes and the rate was extremely reasonable, especially for a Sunday after hours. Thanks for the great recommendation and excellent pricing, A+ business transaction.

This company has poor customer service. They gave me an appointment for an estimate for between 3 – 5 pm… at 5 pm the technician calls to tell me he just finished in La Quinta in the Cove. By the time he would get to my house in Palm Desert I would need to leave to pick up my son. He apologized and said he would have someone come out the next day at my requested time of between 2 and 3pm. At 2 pm the next day I still had not received any call regarding the rescheduling of my appointment. I had to call. I spoke with Rochelle who said she would have to call me back. By 2:40 no call back… so I call again and she says for me to hold on while she checks because one of there guys got hurt and is in the hospital and they are short workers. She comes back to the phone to tell me sorry they can’t make it today either but she can give a referral for someone else. REALLY all this just to get and estimate! I informed her that their are many others in the desert that I could call. Why would I want their referral the way they treated me with something so easy as an estimate. My time is valuable and they behaved as if they were doing me a favor. Their loss as bad reviews travels faster then good.
To add to the above text. My first appointment was actually for Monday between 3−5pm but they could not make it because of an emergency. I said ok how about tuesday I was offered the same time. Now continue with my complaint above.

Chris Hegarty Plumbing is top notch plumbing for the Coachella Valley– I highly recommend you give them a call!
I was having troubles with my plumbing in the kitchen area. This included our sinks backing up, dishwasher, & disposal in the kitchen area.
I previously had contacted (another company) who advised me that I would need to knock down our wall to fix the problem we were having. I decided to give Chris Hegarty Plumbing a call, as I wanted a second opinion — knocking down our wall would be a major undertaking and incredibly expensive.
The employees at Chris Hegarty Plumbing are friendly, professional, punctual, knowledgeable, trustworthy & HONEST. They were able to solve the problem quickly, there was no need to knock down our wall!
I can’t tell you how happy we were with their services. If you are having ANY Plumbing problems, please give Chris Hegarty Plumbing a call first!
I highly recommend their services & appreciate everything they did for our family.

Chris hegarty plumbing is such a great plumbing service!
Out technician was carlos and he was quick efficient and most importantly knowledgable. He showed up promptly, which I was worried about because it was a saturday. He got done quickly, even though he had an extra toilet to service than origionally planned. He gave us a mpre than fair deal… a «bogo» if u will. Finally, he even gave us a tip on how to prevent that problem from ever happening again.

I contacted this place because of Unilocal.Big mistake. Man came out and quickly told me my water heater needed to be replaced, so kind of him to give me a quote. Then proceeded to tell me my option if I did not want to change the whole water heater and just replace a part. During this time he restarted the pilot, charged me and was gone within 15 minutes, mainly because it took him that long to do the paperwork. I told him I would be in contact, yeah right. Who wrote these positive reviews?

I just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to Chris for coming over to the house and fixing the plumbing. We had a connection that needed to be made in order to finish our back yard bar… After callin the original contractor and getting no where Chris showed up in about an hour and has it all fixed up and done in just an hour and a half. Thank you very much HEGARTY Plumbing!!! We can now enjoy the fall in our nice back yard with our new bar!!!
