Sushi Bar -Hammock Beach Resort

I was skeptical about this restaurant. First of all I couldn’t find it on Unilocal and when I walked in, the place was tiny. Maybe 20 seats including 4 at the bar and didn’t look very inviting. Although we didn’t have reservations, Chelsea greeted us warmly and offered to seat us at the bar. My wife & daughter were hoping to get a table but we accepted because they were hungry. The sushi Chefs were actually great as they spoke to us & answered questions.
Anyway, before this review becomes too long, we were pleasantly surprised by the freshness, taste and presentation of our orders. We started with a delightful Poki Salad (13) –Sesame and Seaweed Salad, Tuna, Spicy Sauce, Ponzu. My wife enjoyed her NIGIRIs, our daughter enjoyed her URAMAKI Mango (17) –Shrimp Tempura, Crab, Mango, Eel Sauce and Spicy Sauce and I was actually loving my rich, buttery, super succulent URAMAKI Hammock Beach (13) –Escolar Tempura, Avocado, Japanese Mayo and Tobiko. By the way, I think this is the way to enjoy Escolar. Having a whole steak could prove to be too much to handle. Don’t say you haven’t been warned LOL.
